  • Welcome to my review of the Porsche Taycan 4S! I hope you enjoy the video - if you do, it would be great if you could subscribe to the channel, we've got plenty more coming up.
In this video we look at why the Porsche Taycan 4S is the new benchmark for EVs. Many have predicted a dull automotive future with electric powertrains, but the Taycan suggests that things can be done a lot better. Throw in the inevitable technological advances and there's much to be enthused by.
Looks good, drives great, accelerates savagely... Yeah, it's not all bad!
    We look at:
    - Prices and options
    - Power and performance
    - Interior functions
    - Exterior walkaround
    - Practicality
    - What it's like to drive
    Enjoy!

This car is from the Porsche UK press fleet, correct?

Check out mercedes AMG EQE 43/53 drive sounds online!
It has start/stop, drive, race start different sounds which, imo, add some theatre to the dullness of EVs!
Pretty sure they'll be a similar price though.
Good to hear Porsche has managed to keep some of its excellence in steering feel.
Folding wing mirrors as an option however, is absurd!
The metallic paint was cheaper than the GR Yaris's pearlescent white, lol...
I got mine in the flat white as preferred it, it's less precious and also no extra charge.
Brian Catt has done some interesting interviews recently on talk tv/gb news re so called climate change. Was shocked to hear David Bellamy was cancelled by the MSM regarding his views on the matter!
The world has gone totally mad in the last few years 😏

Yeah, they've done an excellent job on the driving dynamics of this car. I wasn't sure what to expect, or rather I was expecting 'good for an EV', but it's an excellent car.
They need to do something about emissions but I'm not entirely sold on EVs being the answer given all the mining to make the batteries and the fact they can't be recycled. It should only improve as time goes by though.

And yes, some of the options... just stick an extra £1k on the base price and include them!!

I tested both EQE AMG and Taycan 4S. I think they are both pretty bad software / user interaction wise. But the taycan's driving qualities are not even in the same league as the merc. The test mercedes also had multiple electronic issues (like rear windows going down suddenly)

The performance plus battery does deliver more power but only enough to compensate for the extra weight. Performance is unchanged(sloppy review). Gives an extra 30 mile range, but you have to cart around an extra 80kg, which must reduce efficiency and cost £4k!

Clearly you just need a Prius since you dont comprehend the difference in a Toyota and a Porsche. 😂

@@davidpettit6749 Do you mean the difference 'between' a Toyta and a Porsche? But I still don't understand the reply. What I do understand as an engineer and a soon to be owner of a 4s, is when someone hasn't done their homework!

@@graemeross6970 my comment was for you not doing enough homework and just watching videos. Im a Taycan Turbo owner and can tell you having tested the 4s with and without the PB+, the 4s with the PB+ out performed, did better range, improved charging and handled like a better planted sports car due to its lower center of gravity with the added weight. Thus I opted for the Turbo which has the PB+ standard. As an owner I can say thing video was far from sloppy, a few minor items missed, but over all a fun accurate video. Enjoy your 4s when you get it and hopefully you got the PB+. 😎

@@davidpettit6749 Sorry, I seem to have 'rattled' you bit. I haven't ordered the PB+ but will take your advice re COG and will distribute 80kg of sand bags around the car when I take delivery!

@@graemeross6970 didn’t rattle me, just laughing at the ignorance to this mans video. In the 4s you wont even notice the weight of the PB+ but will notice the benefits. If you were getting a RWD Taycan then you would. So you can keep your sand bags at home while you do better homework. Lol cheers and have fun, because once you get it, you wont be complaining about that extra PB+ weight at all. (Otherwise you wouldn’t have got it). 🤓

Not savagely fast but 0-60 in 3.8sec!!! Lol....get a grip you're already in motorbike territory, just how fast do you want to accelerate!!

The Turbo S takes another second off that!! I know what you mean, though, it's plenty fast enough. It doesn't have the snap of others, I guess would've been a better way of putting it.

In real world, it can get 3.5 seconds. With that said, I think the Plaid and models similar have spoiled people. I’ve seen that Taycan Turbo S beat an Aventador. CRAZY!!! The 4S is all I need as it will be one my daily driver.
