  • Residents in parts of Alabama and Georgia are picking up the pieces after a slew of tornadoes swept through both states on Thursday, downing power lines and leaving homes damaged.
At least six people died during the storms, with five reported in Alabama and one in Georgia.
Authorities in Newnan, Georgia, said they're moving operations to focus on recovery and security in the areas that saw damage. Fire chief Stephen Brown said they had completed about 95 per cent of rescue operations, having gone door-to-door and so far everyone was accounted for in the areas most affected. March 26th, 2021.
