When you're playing in front of 1.3 million people, at an abandoned military airfield, with the military acting as security, that's when you know you made it HUGE!
Sadly not even Metallica can do what Metallica did in those years and up to early 2000's, people usually say its age but Maiden guys are older but they still nail their songs live. From what i noticed on this particular song played live in last decade at least, kirk just cant get this solo right in their modern performances of Creeping death, the most goose bumps part of the solo sounds really awkward/almost broken nowadays when they do it live.
This version of this song is how I start my Passover Seders every year! Us Jews don't have many metal versions of anything, but we damn sure have this gem!

Yo DG, Creeping Death is Bible related!! The creeping death that killed the pharaoh's 1st born son!! Pull the Lyrics!! As always an excellent reaction!!
To me that is my favorite performance!!! The strength and energy was undeniable and I watch it over and over because its that good!!! Metallica will always be number one in metal forever! There will never be another Metallica and my boys are still putting out great music!!! Long live Metallica!!! The certified kings of metal!!!

I'm pretty sure you've did this reaction before but this one was just as good as the first one, love your reactions.. if you wanna do more from this concert check out harvester of sorrow and enter sandman
And this concert was played to 1.6 million fans, I watched it live in 91 on MTV as a matter of fact there's a video of the whole concert by Metalica, there also was other bands there but none of them controlled the crowd like metalica did it was awesome
Hey brother!! Metallica are the core of live shows! I am a born again Christian and I am a metal guitarist. Thanks for your reaction video to this song brother
This is the biblical metal jam of "Let my people go!" Dev you are well versed in your metal history and God's words too. I can respect that mess with joy. Hell yeah!
I saw them on this Monsters Of Rock tour (the month before, in England) - apart from the usual Lars-struggling-to-keep-time it was a good showing. Jason Newstead was more Metallica than the rest of them thru the '90s. His ripping live vocals & crazy energy were the driving feature of those gigs which I attended thru the '90s. #ForceOfNature #UnderAppreciated :)
As a drummer myself, I love Metallica’s music; and for as lacking as Lars can be to stay on tempo and on point, I have to give him props for starting the greatest metal band ever with James. That being said, I believe Lars sold his soul to the devil to play the Seattle ‘89 concert at the speed and accuracy he did. Since then, it’s been a slow death spiral downward. I’m not attacking the man by any means though. He definitely has earned his spot on a unique list of metal drummers for his contribution to the metal world. I can only hope to influence other drummers a fraction of what Lars has.
I love the respect everyone is showing Jason over these past few years. He's the person that made me pick up the bass after hearing his S&M performance. Throughout the whole concert they give him justice in comparison to what we heard before.
Thankyou for you reaction⚡️👊🏽 This was the first rock/metal show in the Soviet union after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The fans here had only heard of the bands by the underground. Western music and especially rock and roll were officially forbidden.
This reaction led me to your channel. It’s epic! I didn’t hear that you looked into the lyrics of this one? Maybe I missed it? It was the story of god sending the death angel upon the pharaoh’s people for negating his commandments. The Jews were instructed to paint lambs blood on their doorways to let the angel know that they were Christian’s of faith and the angel would pass over them. I know you know the story but I love your posts brother and I’m glad I found you. Keep up the videos and the word man I watch every one! Love you brother in Christ!
What up fam, he did say let my people go, Land of Goshen, 400 years. Then he referenced the bush of fire, the burning bush. As someone else noted the song was inspired by the film the Ten Commandments. If I’m not mistaken, Cliff burton and James wrote it. That part I could be wrong about though. The “Creeping death” killed all firstborn sons as I know you’re well aware of and that’s what they wrote it about. One of my favorites by them, they killed it. And you looked it up at the end. Lol
yo devin love your vids man I was introduced to metal core when I was 13 and thought it was whack and then it just grew on me. could you please do some more The Word Alive?? By far my favorite band ever. some suggestions are like father like son, how to build an empire, bar fight, evolution, and glass castle highly recommend all of those!!
Yeah man this song is about Moses and the Nine Plagues. Even mentions Moses coming across the bush of fire and the plagues all through the coming of the angel of death and the Passover.
Watch The Ten Commandments (1956). Made in technicolor and starring Charlton Heston, it was filmed on location in Egypt. You will see a piece of the film covering the story of what The Creeping Death told of. Its an epic major feature film. I watch it every Easter but it can be watched anytime.
Do for whom the bell tolls, blackened, no remorse, disposable heroes, damage inc, seek and destroy, harvester of sorrow, spit out the bone, all nightmare long, hardwired, fight fire with fire, hit the lights, fuel, leper messiah and at,as rise
It's about the plaque that God sent down to kill the first born of egypt. One of the lines is - blood on a painted door I shall pass.Moses told the slaves to paint lambs blood on their doors and death shall pass over them.
The song is from the POV of the Holy Spirit, the fog, the creeping death that comes to kill the first-born son in all households except those marked with lamb's blood over the doorway.
If I may request a reaction, this band by the name of IRIS Official just released his 3rd album, Dawn of the Dimetrix. There's two tracks I really think you should check out, Dimetrix and Peace Be Thy Name. IRIS consists only of one guy, Will Ryan. He has been working tirelessly and has created 3 amazing albums in only 4 years. Thank you and keep up the amazing work.
You probably know this but the lines..."So let it be written...So let it be done" are from the Charlton Heston movie "The Ten Commandments". Until 2011 or 2012, I never realized that until I saw the movie "The Ten Commandments" again.
Lol, everybody should quit pickin on 'ol Lars...dude has brought the pain for almost forty years now. He's gotta have some arthritis goin on...hell, I do, and I'm the same age. But, most reactors have done Pantera's "Domination," and "Cowboys From Hell." Another one that def should be done is "Primal Concrete Sledge." It rips....
Yup at 6:35 that hits you right in the heart doesn’t it, but in all seriousness you have to do the 91 moscow live version of Harvester of Sorrows. Huge fat heavy riffs and just beats you over the head
