Honestly I think this dude is trying to let a lot of these fools know what there getting into. Rivierars Ramon Ik I'm 16 saving up for an 84 cutty and I "think" I'm ready for what ever problems this lifestyle brings, my dad had an 84 cutty back in the day and I'm here to carry on tradition 😂
That goes for bmx too bro i been worried about putting 974 into my main street bike and 2k into my race bike but now im like yk i actually enjoy this shit and can always make more dough and i got 2 lowrider bikes im workin on and 1 already has 1500 put into it
@kevingonzalez6778 He'll yea bro U sound a lot like me at ur age and can tell u if ur passionate enough and make it ur goal U will get that cutty and fixer up I can tell U that working on these car is so rewarding to be creative and to fix issues and then being able to drive ur car around after fixing problems will always put a smile on ur face these car will also bring people to u that have the same interest so these cars r just a win all around tear it up kid!!
@thatracinggtbmx6453 exactly when u do what u love cost is not important what is important is how rewarding it can be to pursue things u r passionate about in life few thing can make us truly happy fuck the money do what u love and the universe will reward U...Ain't gonna take it with u anyways stay 😎 bro
I bought 2 cars about 15 years ago. One was from Arizona. Nice white regal that I kept breaking because I couldn't figure out how to hop. Then a nice purple monte carlo fully done lowrider out of Des Moines. It had design all over it. Plushed out interior with mirror design. Incredible car for 5k. Can't believe I let that go.
don't forget the cost of tickets for loud music, small wheels and tires, modified susp. and the tow yard cost if your caught hopping + a moving violation and points on your license we've all been thru that
thats the beauty of living in iowa, no tickets for modified cars, no points. you will get a reckless driving ticket for hitting switches on the street though if the cops in a bad mood, most are just so surprised to see one they wave lol.
Kenneth Pearey must suck where you live down here in Dallas, Texas only reason we would get pulled over for is traffic violation like any other car or if cop racially profile you and try to search your car but if you everything straight nothing to worry bout after that they wont bug no more
lmao...dont forget oil and hoses cuz you gonna probably blow 1 or 2 of those in the break in period. tie rods and ball joints if they never been changed will snap like a twig but in the end flexing for complete strangers its all worth it!!! lol
Luckily my 'stinkin lincoln came with hundred spokes because of previous owner but i did have to pay for interior parts ( door panels, headliner, plastics etc..) and then i did have to pay around 2500-3000 for a paint job w/ pinstripes and leafing.. im only 19 and this car will be the death of me bro....
Just came across your channel today & this is a good vid, Ive had a lowrider in my life for the last 20years so I feel your pain. One thing I tell people who is trying to build one for the first time is dont worry about the price, if there first question is how much then this is not for you. Im going to check out the rest of your vids but it sounds like your past the point of no return on your Lincoln so just keep going it will get there one day....One part at a time
Genuine question. Do you also need different motor mounts to take the pounding? Also to reinforce the strut tower, frame, control arms, etc or will the factory stuff be okay to take the abuse?
2 grand won't event pay for the materials to even do a candy job..house of color is expensive..I don't recommend candy anyway..after about 5 years it will fade..if u ever get a dent ..God forbid that..it's unmatchable..gotta paint the whole car again.
Hydraulics..about 1500 bucks just to buy a decent setup..plus 6 batteries at about 200 bucks a pop each...then about another 1000 dollars to have it installed..
This is like anything related with other styles haha I love lowriders, slammed trucks, lifted trucks, Stanced cars, 1/4 mile cars, bikes, you name it haha One day I'll build a lowrider for the day to day!! Nice channel homie 💪😁
For chain bridge and 3 wheel and hydraulic set up will run you like 4500$ from a hydraulic shop in Texas. We just order a 1000$ hydraulic kit specs for our cars and install them ourselves or some hydraulic shops will put them on for you cheap but it’s not covered if anything mess up. But lowrider cost more than you imagine. The wear and tear cost you in the long run
Dreams Crushed!!!!!!! Thank you for your honesty. I'm happy I found your video. I leaned away from that idea, even though, I would love to have the cutless bounce :(
@@Impoopinus I come from the gutters homie. What I meant/mean by "BOSS the fuck up" is to bust ass n hustle like every minute that passes is in reality a week. Gonna take you 30 years to build your dream car working your dead end job?? Then BOSS the fuck up and aim higher!! We get maybe 80 years on this planet, n then we're gone forever!! I worked many well paying careers, but they still didn't make it very possible for me n my kids to appreciate all the things that I don't feel are "over-reaching". So I busted my ass and sacrificed HUGE to climb myself to a whole higher level. I'm now my own BOSS, own my own company, and can provide my kids and myself a life that is alien to people like me. Life is fuckin short homie. GET TO HUSTLIN!!!!
I’m 100% Chicano and I owned three lowriders at different times. I had one of the first Monte Carlo Landau 1975 with a factory 454 engine, power windows and electronic dash all factory. I gave a 1000 dollar down payment. I put Supreme wheels on it and since I had no money for hydros I used small wheels to give it a low look. The car had a great paint job and perfect interior I got lucky but you can get lucky too. My lowriders were basics but I added my own inexpensive touch ups all for 2500 minus car payments.
Building a 74 caprice hardtop. I bought the car for 4k and am now into it for about 10k not even close to where I want it. Giving it to my daughter on her 16th birthday. People say Im crazy for that but it's a father's job to lace their kids shoes and start them off on the right foot.
I picked my 71 Monte Carlo up when I first got the switches put on it and three wheeled out of the parking lot broke my ball joint in my spring and cylinder shot out of my car. If you don't have money to burn LOL don't even attempt building a lowrider. I have two of them that's been in Lowrider magazine I got close to $50,000 in each one and I stopped driving them for years ago. They're just a money pit and you'll never get the money out of them that you put in that's why I still have them
Everyone says the amount of battery's, bit batteries vary greatly as many know, I come from car audio where 6 basic autozone agm batteries would not even have as much power as my single battery. (Litium) so is there an amperage or voltage you need?
You didn't even talk about reinforcing and extending your A-Arms reinforcing the rear end and at minimum reinforcing the stress points on the frame. Your Lincoln Rd comes Factory with adjustable a arms and a fully boxed frame that's the only car you really don't have to do much reinforcing on
Can anyone explain to me what the chains are for/what they do on a lowrider? You know, the ones by the axel. I've always been curious. I think it's called a chain bridge.
Alex Luthor ooooooooh could you. Next time I'll do one in a very monotone voice itemizing everything involved with making a lowrider lol. Just having fun.
No i get it and I subscribed but as a newbie to lowriding , I really wanted to know what it would cost considering I'm not a mechanic , a arms , frame reinforcement , solenoid blow out , what normally brake underneath ect . Or just less stress to go air .
Alex Luthor I don't know what a shop would charge to install it but in guessing around 1000-1500 pretty easy. There is no way for me to put a number on a arms, frame reinforcement, break downs and all that. Number could be anywhere from free to infinite. People spend whatever they can on their lowrider. This is just a rough estimate on what it takes bare minimum to get in the door to start a lowrider project by yourself. If you want a shop to do it. I would guess you would need to have a minimum of 5 grand set aside just for the basic set up, with batteries, and installation. This is just the set up not counting the car, wheels, or reinforcements or anything extra you want to do. If you want to get into it. Just get a car, and some wheels and start saving money for the set up. Get some friends that are into the same thing and see if you can get some first hand advice on good shops in your area. Warning: a lowrider WILL take ALL of your money if you let it. So really price doesn't matter. Just know it's going to take everything you will give it lol thanks for subscribing.
This video was over 4 years ago. Before the crazy inflated prices we are seeing today. You could get an adex dump for 700 then now everyone wants 1500-2000 for one dump. Brand new daytons are about 3600 right now and a 6 month wait. When I built my town car 5 years ago I bought a set of OG daytons for 700 with tires which was still a good deal at the time.
Need to add in a price for steel for rack and hold downs 3/4 inch steel for axel reinforced, upper control arms reinforced. Frame arch plates. You’re gonna want bigger cylinders for the rear at least bcuz standards in the kits are 8’s in the front and 10’s in the rear. It’s very costly but if you wanna do it and do it right you’ll make it happen. Just take more time. Love watching this guy build em though.
I paid $450 for my first set of brand new chinas with tires. Then again that was in 2005. We could get a full set of cornell 155/80s with WW for $80. The good ol' days. Great vid, bro 😎
Would 6500 be a fair price for a 3 pump 10 switch lowrider, already three wheeling, paint. With 85k miles. I know almost nothing about lowriders, but im begining to learn. Any help would be appreciated, after this I'm straight on to another video about them to learn more lol.
@@RJTickler thank you. Right now I think it might be my best option. I'm also looking at a cutlass that's the same price that's ready for paint and in reallyy good condition but its all stock.
He's talking about just getting the bare minimum to start off. You are bragging that you spent more.. he's not doing that he's just saying how much to start off
got a 1988 lincoln towncar, i wana pimp it out but not going to add hydraulics to it... i just wanna buy rims and add in a surround sound system... were did you get your rims from ? and do i need to buy tires to fit those rims or the tires that i have will fit, im looking to buy 15 inch 100 spokes wire wheels please let me know thanks
I have had 3 lowrider all lincolns a 87 Signature series 92 signature series and my new 97 Lincoln Town car cartier and I never put Hydraulics on any of my cars do to it fucking up the frame and breaking shit just put air bags not as fun as hydros but you can go up and down and not have to worry about shit breaking. I got blessed with the 97 it came with real daytons and system in it already tinted windows and perfect interior and minor issue's that cost me $500 to fix and payed $6,200 for it so. Some advice if you plan to build one make sure you have about 10k of play money and don't put used parts on ur ride 😉 best of luck and keep it low and slow
classics are for retirees or if you have alot of money to blow with no debt .But if your on a budget leave it alone save your bread dont embarrass your self 🚗💨💨😟
You forgot to mention, there are a lot of people that can build themselves...so you have to factor in cases of beers friends or just the money for a shop to install. I'm just gonna refer people to this video when the ask me how much, my builds are a little out of control now lol.
WellonsCJ lol yeah man I could have kept talking. I should have hit that point about these prices are no install. It's the owner busting their own knuckles, and some of their friends lol.
No. Fools back in the day tried running 2 alternators with one directing current to the batteries but it was dogshit. A decent multi-battery charger ain't too expensive.
D G from the ground up I have built the one that's behind me in this video. I had one built for me about 14 years ago and I ended up re doing it myself. And I have bought a few already done with switches and just had to do the normal up keep on them.
$680 is what it took to paint my 79 Deville and that's including primer and sealer. $400 for new 100 spoke wires with new tires. I do paint and body work myself. I do everything I'm an autobody tech plus I got some hook up on the wires but the rest sounds about right. Oh the system shit $200 for the deck, $100 for 4x6's up front $60 for 6x9's in back, $400 for the 2 12's and box also $200 for the amp and $100 for Xs battery and that was just getting a full system on top of everything else. Not the best but also not the worst system either. Bottom line shit adds up but it's worth it.
Let's see, I'm a Chicano born n raised streets of Killa Cali.... My latest ride: $7500 for a 1963 impala SS. $15,000 in New parts including full floors, full trunk, all new trim, bumpers, etc etc.... $2500 for custom set of 14 inch wires. $1000 for set of 14 inch tires/chubby whites. $800 for all my audio/stereo stuff. $6000 for all new interior. $10,000 for custom candy paint job including frame, rear end, engine block, front suspension parts, full dash, and steering column. $4000 for frame n suspension reinforcement and modifications. Another $5000 for complete hydro setup and install, 2 competition pumps with motor upgrades, adex dumps, 8 batteries, 12s in rear 8s in front. $1200 for fuel injection upgrade to motor. Another $1000 for engine rebuild and dress-up. Full frame off build. There is no exact or even ballpark number of what it costs to build a lowrider. Too many variables that can have huge effects on the price. But tatted across my back are four 8 inch letters....B.O.S.S. so it's nothin to a "G".
a lot. but it does not matter if low riding is in your hart.. i LOVE,LOVE low trucks. im doing one right now. its a 92 s10 blazer. bagged and body dropped. and its all being done by me. i have 10g in it right now. paid a good penny for the truck as its is 99% rust free 2wd ,2dr . hard to find around here.
Cost more than that. That's the backyard boogie. You got install fees also. 10 years ago I could get candy paint for 1500. Five to ten gs is way too much for paint in due respects to the painter and work you put in it. That's the problem nowadays. That's one reason you don't see many lowriders. Too expensive. I've built and had many built. It's not some simple bolt on crap with paint like around here. Lowriders rule. Give them respect people. If you can't fade it, don't do it. I can't wait to build another. Thanks RJ. Wayne Costa 🙏RIP
Anybody know how much it would cost to get a 2 pump 2 dump 4 battery setup? 8 inch cylinders front and back. I just want 2 switches, front and back. Coil under in the rear. I want adel/adex square dumps. I live in San Marcos, CA.
ManCaveTV I know man it's a big no no. Lol but when your broke and your interior is junk sometimes it's better just to cover it until your money is right again lol.
CEED Rental yeah I touched on it briefly. Said 400 for steel to reinforce things. You can get away with no reinforcements on a very basic lay and play set up. But everyone has a hard time keeping the front end on the ground when they get switch happy lol.
I never got hydraulics but im well over 10k in paint and bodywork alone...not including the wheels, interior, and speakers..i always wanted hydraulics though
If you have to ask if the money is fake, you don't need a lowrider....or a driver's license....im building a 84 mustang vert low low at the moment.....13in roadsters on deck already. Menace II ....
5k isn't bad at all for budget built lowrider I should've been yea this will be my project instead of getting a drag car/street car which is way more than 5k to build on a budget than a lowrider.
I paid $750 for my 1980 Chevy Impala with nobody problems whatsoever same color body and paint pattern as the Chevy from colors except my mirrors were Chrome and Impala instead of Caprice it came with flowmaster H pipes and Edelbrock intake and Holly manifold of course I live in Oklahoma.
Not exactly bro I spent about 1275 on my switches it lasted a long time not a bad set up single pump 3 batteries airplane dumps only thing was the motor keys and check valves and recharging the batteries. The trick is when you flatten the ram rods keep it stock level
I'm from Massachusetts and I'm completely infatuated with low riders and have been every since I saw Boyz in the hood dough boys gold 64. Then seeing this Mexican dude in Fitchburg with a purple Regal with matching Daytons hittin switches outside of my high school. Our roads aren't the best but when my breads right I'll build one, can't find or afford a 64 Impala so 79 Caddy coupe de'velle I'll go for. Lowriding is a lifestyle.
I have a 84 cutlass my 10 switch..6 battery..3 pump set up with frame reinforce..painting wheel wells and rear end..4 chrome pre-cut flat end springs and battery rack ..wires ..batteries. Ect..And install I was out maybe 7 grand..ALL NEW EQUIPMENT..CCE HYDROS..with 4 acummulators I'm including the engine and suspension work....exhaust ..paint.. Rims and tires.. Not the price of the car..
Dear rj I have a 89 coupe deville Cadillac I would like to have hydraulic installed by u I would like to have 3 pump set up with 3 wheel with chain bridge with reinforced frame with springs in the front what am I looking at far as price all together oh it will be a weekend car holiday season
Bryon Willis depends on how far you want to go with the frame reinforcing. A basic hydraulic install is about 1500 in labor. A frame reinforcement at all the stress points is about 1500 in labor. Chain bridge runs about 400 and you will need to reinforce the rear and which runs about 400. If you want the control arms up front reinforced it will add about 150 each arm. None of this includes parts.
hittin switches for complete strangers = priceless
Facts💯
🤣🤣🤣
$10k to build a good lowrider is really not that bad. With a decent job you could afford it and you'll love the car every day you drive it
Kansas City Chief thats if your a mechanic & already have all the tools on deck and got mad time to work in the car he didn't include what it costs to have someone experienced build it for you.

Not less expensive depends what u do I know people out here rolling in $150,000 cars just like imports u can go as crazy as u want
Hova tru but that’s when they fully bump it up and modify it if u want a basic for now it’s not that expensive
Rocco Espinosa ya that’s with any type of car culture u can build something cheap or expensive
Hell yea tuner world gets pricey especially if you goin for hp. Nice 9g I got one too it’s my baby

+RJ Tickler lucky the cops wave there guns at us over here ha ha ha
Kenneth Pearey must suck where you live down here in Dallas, Texas only reason we would get pulled over for is traffic violation like any other car or if cop racially profile you and try to search your car but if you everything straight nothing to worry bout after that they wont bug no more
Well here in Cali we get tickets only if the cops are in a bad mood and only if you're caught hopping

BKS CYCO oh man I feel ya lol I did my first one when I was 13, drained my college budget and built one
Just came across your channel today & this is a good vid, Ive had a lowrider in my life for the last 20years so I feel your pain. One thing I tell people who is trying to build one for the first time is dont worry about the price, if there first question is how much then this is not for you. Im going to check out the rest of your vids but it sounds like your past the point of no return on your Lincoln so just keep going it will get there one day....One part at a time
100SpokeRiderz thanks for checking out the videos! Yeah this car is mine now lol no turning back.
This guy reminds me of Lucifer. In the dark, burning money, lit candles. Hes so agitated
Genuine question. Do you also need different motor mounts to take the pounding? Also to reinforce the strut tower, frame, control arms, etc or will the factory stuff be okay to take the abuse?
You didn't cover engine and transmission work you'll mostly like need if you're buying a classic car
That should be the first thing.

Hey, can you make a beginners video to how the hydraulics work and connect to the car and to other parts , what parts are needed.
In Dallas Texas
Paint=2000 basic candy
Spokes=750
Juice+Install =2500
Radio System =600
Where at in texas?
I need to come to dallas then
I just moved to Dallas from AZ what shop would u suggest out here?
2 grand won't event pay for the materials to even do a candy job..house of color is expensive..I don't recommend candy anyway..after about 5 years it will fade..if u ever get a dent ..God forbid that..it's unmatchable..gotta paint the whole car again.
Hydraulics..about 1500 bucks just to buy a decent setup..plus 6 batteries at about 200 bucks a pop each...then about another 1000 dollars to have it installed..
a real lowrider will never end your cost.
We Chicanos don’t think about the money we think about how fucking cool we’re going to look when it’s ready for the streets.

*Instructions weren’t clear:* I burned all my money first before purchasing my parts! 🤪
My lowriders were basics but I added my own inexpensive touch ups all for 2500 minus car payments.
never been so overwhelmed by a car i don't even own

Lmao "poor mans chrome" you crack me up
I picked my 71 Monte Carlo up when I first got the switches put on it and three wheeled out of the parking lot broke my ball joint in my spring and cylinder shot out of my car. If you don't have money to burn LOL don't even attempt building a lowrider. I have two of them that's been in Lowrider magazine I got close to $50,000 in each one and I stopped driving them for years ago. They're just a money pit and you'll never get the money out of them that you put in that's why I still have them
What about frame work to keep you from breaking anything
Everyone says the amount of battery's, bit batteries vary greatly as many know, I come from car audio where 6 basic autozone agm batteries would not even have as much power as my single battery. (Litium) so is there an amperage or voltage you need?
There is no price on a lowrider.. you just keep spending and spending lol
You didn't even talk about reinforcing and extending your A-Arms reinforcing the rear end and at minimum reinforcing the stress points on the frame. Your Lincoln Rd comes Factory with adjustable a arms and a fully boxed frame that's the only car you really don't have to do much reinforcing on
your problem is that you bought a ford... thats where your money really went to shit
Can anyone explain to me what the chains are for/what they do on a lowrider? You know, the ones by the axel. I've always been curious. I think it's called a chain bridge.

Hey man im planning on building one as my first car im sure its a bad idea but what would you recommend or what advice would you have?
How much is it to get someone to install everything?
What do you think about OG Wire Wheels? I would love to get me a set of affordable wires.
Dope Fiend great company. Had a buddy order some from them last year.
@@RJTickler thanks
I have a set. There nice. However if you hop on them they bend. Save for Dayton bud. Cheaper in the long run.
@@jessemarkle5413 Planning on getting bags on, no hopping.
Could have done with out the theatricals.
Just know it's going to take everything you will give it lol thanks for subscribing.
in south centrial LA you can get a decent low rider cut out with 8 switches from $3000 to $30,000
I don't know where you're finding Dayton's for $1k, let me know! They retail for ~$4k a set.
For a classic car, stock cars are better for looks, value, and it doesn’t look tacky.
Vinny Romero yep my first set was player wire wheels they were like 750 with tires shipped to my door step lol. Back in 02
RJ Tickler Good shit, brother💯Subscribed 👍
I paid 850 for my first set back in the day they were galaxies
Would 6500 be a fair price for a 3 pump 10 switch lowrider, already three wheeling, paint. With 85k miles. I know almost nothing about lowriders, but im begining to learn. Any help would be appreciated, after this I'm straight on to another video about them to learn more lol.
If the system works and the car is fairly operational and clean I’d say yeah it’s a fair price.
@@RJTickler thank you. Right now I think it might be my best option. I'm also looking at a cutlass that's the same price that's ready for paint and in reallyy good condition but its all stock.

This is a LOT cheaper than racing! I love it.
What do you guys do for the steering alinement at my ride hight its good but droped or raised it totally changes the driving quality
Just curious have they come up with a way that the car charges the batteries so you won’t have to put it on a separate charger
No. Fools back in the day tried running 2 alternators with one directing current to the batteries but it was dogshit. A decent multi-battery charger ain't too expensive.
Can I make a 2009 Silverado into a low rider? With hydraulics?
I'm just curious how many lowriders have you actually built? And if you could provide pics.
Make an updated one
It'll be nuts to see how much it costs now
$15k is the budget I'm gonna use to start. Ls1 engine swap, Daytons, suspension, hydraulics, paint and chrome. In that order.
12 of that will be on the ls swap alone lol
Ls swap, Daytons, etc etc.... and you think $15k?? My dude, multiply that $15k by 2 or 3 and you're closer to being correct.
@@thedevil3890 exactly the swap will come first!!!
@@RJTickler just the stress points
Bryon Willis ok so your looking at between 3800-4500 depending if you want the control arms up front done. Plus your parts.
So if I give you 6250 what can happen and how long will it take to make it happen
