a lot of LA lowrider clubs were born in gang neighborhoods. Majestics, Imperials, Dukes all had heavy neighborhood relations and Ogs have been their presidents and founders. These cultures always have a shared soul no matter how far it grows past the neighborhoods or how many people take on the look. If i were an Italian i would say 'this thing of ours'
there was actually a time when car clubs would bang on eachother and it wasn't safe to park your car with some car club plaques. Come back to broken windows

My dad actually comes from the low rider scene and I grew up loving them. Literally one of the coolest cars to exist. He used to have technically a mini truck but that’s a whole scene stemming from the low rider scene. That’d be a cool episode to see too. But he actually had a nissan hardbody when they were new and his was decked out completely from a huge sound system to custom paint and wheels and interior and he said it was actually pretty quick for what it was with all that.

This phenomenon is still being discovered in some corner of the world and still evolving. Thank you for the brief history to the hobby that I love the most.
Growing up in the OC area, I've grown around seeing lots of lowriders and the culture. Never really got involved in it until my dad purchased a project van and my brother started to work on it. Now, not only do I go to tuner park & chills I also go to cruises with my brother and his friends. The community is welcoming, they may look intimidating but they are some of the most down to earth people. And yes, I'm a Chicano 🇲🇽

The last time I driven a low rider was from the cool rockstar video game "Midnight Club L.A. Complete Edition" of course. I would typically buy the '55 Chevy Bel air which I bought it for $5,000 and modifying it LOL.
OG lowrider here. Bill Hines was the godfather of hydraulics back in the late 50s. Look him up. The lore of where lowriding came from is partly a myth. Lowriders were birthed from the traditional kustoms of the 50s and 60s. George Barris, Larry Watson, Bill Hines, Alan Duke. The quintessential lowrider style of paint in the 70s and 80s came from what these guys were doing in the 50s and 60s. You won't find any pictures or documentation showing that these guys weren't the first to do it.
Coming from San Diego lowriders were everywhere especially in Los Angeles. If you are in the car scene and haven't gone to a lowrider meet.. it's something to see
Lowriders and mini trucks, the only modern groups that pay attention to detail and not follow the unwritten rules of Instagram car "enthusiasts". No other groups have the family that lowriders and mini trucks have.
Because there's way to much info on how to build a lowrider then can be explained in a short video its way more then boosting or slamming a import or muscle car
