A car guy is a car guy. I love older cars and trucks (own a 51 f-3 that was my great grandfather's). Even though we have different final style the attention to detail and love for it brings us all together. Like the old accessories the lowrider community has, such a nice touch. I want a visor for my f-3 so bad.

Very smart words for kids trying to make it. “You need to make yourself necessary, you need to learn a trade” it doesn’t matter if your black, white, brown if you learn a trade you will have no problem making a very comfortable living the rest of your life.
The dude said it.....get a trade...you gotta have skills. ...there it is. Work for it...get up on time...ask the questions...stay over and ask the night shift guy. Be respectful...learn. Find the right mentor. 12Yr Aircraft maintenance, 20yr high tech equipment maintenance and care. 30+ countries. HS only for most.

LA is definitely low rider capital! This is where it all began in the mid 1940’s by Mexican-Americans. Low riding is the CALI way!
What people don't understand is, it's a lot of work building a low, low. Finding parts, breaking parts, missing events because your car broke down. The Tech involved, creativity, busted holes, being greasy, dirty, all that. Eating, sleeping breathing cars, Nightmares. But, it's fun! It taught me problem solving, and having patience. Mr. Cartoon is a cool brother, he was at a spot i was a bouncer at in the City of Commerce Ca in 2006. Someone broke into his ride an stole his portfolio with his art work in it. I got it bacc for him an he was GRATEFUL.
Happy to see peeps from LA come up and be recognized. Too many didn't make it out of the neighborhoods.

How Kevin standing in the thumbnail is how I stand when I’m with my grandpa at a car show. I’m 31 and he still warns me to be careful. Love that guy.
Big D, Darryl Koonce, & Kenny Stewart, Doc”, aka Dr Graphic, my kustom paint mentors, taught me EVERYTHING I know in the 1980’s.. R.I.P. brothers!!! My big brothers, Red & P.D. an OG Professional low rider club member got me a job, custom painting for Big D’s, TNT Kustom paints in 1986. As an 11 year old kid, my brothers Took me to low rider car shows, in the 1970’s.. I finished B/F class in Seattle, came back to Los Angeles, started working for Big D, & learning from “Doc” when Big D was on 82nd & San Pedro, on the Eastside of Los Angeles, where I got my custom skills.. I remember when Cartoon was making his name.. He’s the man now!! Hey Toons, you still doing it big dude.. Great work homes!!!

I wanna give a shout out to Kevin Hart for recognizing true talent and putting low riders in the light everyone judges us just because we have low riders assuming we’re criminals but we’re good people. I hate being judged by my cover just cause we have tattoos and ride custom cars doesn’t mean we’re bad people we got good hearts thanks for this documentary. This is a culture and a lifestyle this is not a sport.

The low rider clubs have some of the most incredible looking cars there is. The creative paint work is amazing. When a guy says he did it in his back yard, and you see the beautiful result, it is hard to imagine it can turn out like it does.

They call it a Paint job, but it's really a Masters Tape Job. I see all those layers of lines and shadows and think WOW the amount of Taping and prep work is amazing 👏🙌

Lowrider guys are awesome. It isn't really my style, and I doubt you'd ever see one in my driveway, but I just love checking them out at car shows. The attention to detail, especially in the paint, is top notch. These days with so many people vinyl wrapping their cars, people like Mister Cartoon are keeping the old traditions alive.
Grew up the only black in a Chicano hood I used to love watching the low riders ride by Chicanos have always been so gangster and real and showed my family so much love.. love and respect to the whole Chicano movement salute my brothers!

Aircraft landing gear was the resolution to the problem. Airplanes have hydraulic landing gear. The first hydraulic setup on a car was put together from old WWII landing gear. I love everything about this.
