Really looking forward to the Comet!! Been eagerly awaiting this kit for a while and you're the first I've seen to give us a good in-box look, can't wait for a build video to see what you do!!
That Comet is straight to the top of my stash wish list. Love how they've got a detailed multi part tow cable as well. Sick of the old piece of string crap! Hope that's been put to be for all new tools.
As an armor modeller I was especially excited about the Comet, but I was equally interested in the motorcycle kit. My Dad used to ride a Honda Goldwing. I wish Tamiya would come out with this bike as a kit. Thank you Andy for another great video.
I didn't realise until I looked at the parts in this kit, that the comet has christie suspension, just like the A13 I've just built from Bronco, and not torsion bar like just about everything else then or since. Very nice looking kit and, as always, a great informative video! Thanks!
Thanks Andy, greetings fae Scotland and whit like? I started building Tamiya kits in the 70s and have worked my way through most of their 35th scale, I’ll have tae get the Comet as soon as it comes oot. Thanks for all your videos!
Kits look great, especially the Ducati although the Superleggera has a dry clutch not a wet as supplied in the kit, hopefully there will be an aftermarket update by someone!? thanks for sharing Andy
I have ordered the Tamiya Comet, and it should arrive tomorrow, I did try the Bronco version, but gave up in the end because there were far too many tiny little pieces that would take ages to glue into place and then get knocked off and lost when they could safely have been moulded in. Also, I just could NOT get the track to stay together. I got as far as getting the two lengths of track assembled, undercoated in a dark rust, drybrushing in orange rust, drybrushing in steel colour on the horns, and whenever I tried to fit to the running gear, it would fall apart somewhere along its length. The last thing was, I have never seen a picture of a Comet that didn't have a canvas mantle cover. I had to get that as a resin aftermarket part and butcher the turret to fit it. The Tamiya kit includess it as an option. It was more like torture than model building. But I have never known a modern Tamiya tank kit that wasn't a pleasure to build.
That's the problem with Tamiya. They're great with some things, fit, instructions, the plastic that they use, but they're way behind in some areas that have become standard now.
Hey Andy Cool stuff and video Right !!! Love the Armor my fav in 1/35th scale Cool kits Andy from our friends at Tamiya They need to keep em coming More kits and retooling of some older kits and new kits of course Slide molded barrels and articulate tracks . But Tamiya is still quality engineered Cheers!!!!
Nice crisp detail on the Comet I like the idea of separate halves for the lower hull, not a fan of link and length tracks, Tamiya instructions I never have problems, beautiful kit! David Rusterholz
Hi Andy, that was two great looking kits my friend, I will get the Comet, when I can sneak it home, don't think I will get the Ducati, I can just see you going around Glendale on the full size bike, bext regards to you and your family and friends from Australia.
I don't think the Ducati will get detailled up parts, normally the instructions already refer to them in the appropriate steps. In these particular instructions there is no reference to DP. Still A beautiful kit that is on my wish list now
Yip, every bike kit that has had the option parts are mentioned in the instructions with it's part no. I think the last kit to not have a fork set option was the H2. A pity....i do like me a detail parts set !
Doesn't appear to include interior breech parts for the main gun. As a young man I worked for a while with a chap who had commanded a Comet in occupied Germany. He said you had to climb in and out of the turret very gingerly and stay well back from the gun in action if you didn't want to get a very personal injury from the gun breech.
Good choice for a tank model. I would like to see NCO stripes Decals,.. but I don't know if the British wore them on their coveralls. I hope Tamiya updates their T 34 Kits with a STZ T 34 .
It seems to me like it would not be hard to produce a kit that had the parts to build either a A24, A27L, A27M, and maybe a A34 though Comet may be a bit different. A24 is very similar. to A27L/M.
I've loved Tamiya my entire life. I've had mutables of their tank kits their aircraft kits a few ships, don't think any car kits other companies for them BUT! Tamiya has to be the most LAZY!, STUBBORN!, or they just DON'T CARE! for their fans when it's about muzzle breaks on gun barrels. Or push pin marks on the inside of hatch doors. Someone at Tamiya must have a brain and say HEY! put the pin marks on the outside of the hatch doors or slide mold them because the inside is where the most details are, in doing so makes it for easier clean up. And please make the muzzle breaks one separate piece. Every other company in the modeling world does it why not Tamiya??. Thanks for the video Andy. Really enjoying the factory build. How about an update on how to's 🤔
I agree about "ejection marks" AND sprue attacthment points BUT its not only Tamiya. A lot of the "lesser brands" have surpassed Tamiya in this area. It is a joke , in the vast vast amount of cases attachment points could be anywhere on the sprue, flow does not come into it, on larger pieces yes, attachment points may need to be placed ,but i doubt thats often. i do not even think the attathment points effect the price of mould making. Tamiya being the "top" brand BUT dropping should be way ahead in this area ,they must have builders that in the company and know what is unaceptable
Thank you, Andy. So are you going to have the motorcycle for pre order, or just the comet? Does anyone know if Tamiya has any plan to release another bike in the 1/6 series?
For me, Tamiya Comet it is a bit of dissapointment... Sory for being a bit itchy, but there are no parts for postwar options (Finland, Cuba, South Africa or Ireland); No PE for the rear grill, the Normandy cowls, or the cage on top of turret. And I think that the split twin cowlings should left the grill betewen them to be seen and not blanked. There is no interior detail at all -gun breech-. Besides, there are no casting numbers, the hull MG has no separate barrel and you HAVE to put the kit supplied tow cables since they are attached to their fixing points on the hull... I´m sure it is a great kit, easily buildable, and will sell well, but with its minor flaws.
I am not particularly interested in the Comet as there was the Bronco for quite a while now, but maybe it will be popular with some. But 1000s kits part? Now that is something...
I have some very nice photos of my old Dad in his Comet from the 50s , so this model will make my day.😀
Really looking forward to the Comet!! Been eagerly awaiting this kit for a while and you're the first I've seen to give us a good in-box look, can't wait for a build video to see what you do!!
But not the price lol

Thanks Andy. The Comet with 17pdr will be very popular for late war dioramas which you may want to build!
Build that Comet, Andy!
I am glad you show that the comet is a new kit. I wouldn't pick it from the shelve because the box art makes it look like it is 40 years old
That A34 comet is going to be an awesome build
They both look like excellent kits, and I'm sure that motorcycle would have the same fit and finish as all the other Tamiya kits 👍👍
amazing !!! The comet !!
As an armor modeller I was especially excited about the Comet, but I was equally interested in the motorcycle kit. My Dad used to ride a Honda Goldwing. I wish Tamiya would come out with this bike as a kit. Thank you Andy for another great video.
Tamiya kits are generally excellent
Just received the Ducati 😎
Looks like a lovely kit

Better build that Comet next, Andy!!
yeah that comet is gonna sell like crazy
Wow very happy they made a Comet!
Thankyou for updates.
The a34 looks awesome looking forward to building this one the Ducati looks fantastic Steve enjoyable video Andy
I'd love to give that Ducati a try, or another similar kit. They look very cool.
Finally a video on something that isn't 1/16.

The dry clutch without the racing kit has the same cover as the wet clutch

Aaaannnndddd the Comet arrives just as l finish my Bronco kit !
Natrually.....
Looking forward to the comet
I bought the Bonco 1.35 scale Comet a couple of years ago, although it's in the queue to be built - ! 😁
I really wish Tamiya would stop with the plastic rectangle molded on grab handles, this is not the 80's anymore.
I thought it was a 80's kit by the look of the box art
That's the problem with Tamiya. They're great with some things, fit, instructions, the plastic that they use, but they're way behind in some areas that have become standard now.
@@genek8630 Unfortunately, no incentive to change when they are selling a ton of these kits! 😡
Yes!
@@leonverdonschot3727 First time the Comet was realesed as a model kit was in 2005 by Bronco I belive.

Good representation of the Cristy suspension.

Thanks Andy. Great vid as always. Really like the A34 Comet. Wanted one for ages and it's going to be a Tamiya kit!
Thanks for your introduction..
I'm also like this British tank, and waiting the sale starting from Tamiya shop too..🙏🙏

Geez finally some made in Japan kits!
Why no more build videos Andy? Nice to see kits made by a maker other than Takom / RFM etc... any build videos?
Thanks Andy, Great looking kits!!
Very nice! The tire decals seem a bit of a challenge.
2 Cool kits ............... 👍👍
I noticed that Tamiya included both the WW2 exhaust, as well as the post WW2/Korean War exhaust as well.
SO EXCITED FOR COMET

Not many comet kits out there, a nice addition.
On the Ducati, are the red tyre stripes actual decals or are they the transfers that you wet the back of(which I hate)?
Love your videos you do a great job do you know if Tamiya will rerelease American half tracked any time soon

No - rank or unit insignia was not worn on those 'Pixie' suits that the crew are wearing.

Hello Andrew, when can we expect the Comet to arrive in the U.S.?
Thank you
Is the front fork set not applicable for ducati v4 kit?
Ducati looks great but I'll stick to the Bronco Comet - better tracks and easier lower hull assembly.
The Comet is definitely of interest, but I wish Tamiya would stop putting half figures in their kits. Add in the legs, guys!
