Its really funny, I was sorting though cards last night and saw a Hussar and was just thinking "Dam this thing must have been a limited Bomb!" and here you are posting a video the next day lol
Yes and no. One one hand it was very powerful. On another, it's a card from the third set of the block. It was very hard to draft a good deck with enough blue/white creatures that you could still get this in pack 3 and be good. However when you DID, yeah the results were ridiculous. But you had to first survive your Ravnica and Guildpact packs with a solid plan in case you didn't open Hussar. Thankfully it was an uncommon.
Small detail but at 37:41 you can sac the Familiar to have them pay 1 on the Crop Rotation so they're unable to make a copy of Dryad. Still gets a insect but better then having to deal with a 2nd copy
I havent watched the gameplay, just the deck tech, but sticking Nadu into anything reminds me of the knight deck I submitted that went 1-4 on the back of Grief Reanimate Troll (lord knows it was an 0-5 deck haha).
I feel like I haven't seen phil play with Aether vial in literally forever Also turns out 10 years of power creep is actually ~2 years of power creep from 2 sets
Late to the party and this isn't really the video for this comment, but if grief is such a problem, would a deck running Nullhide ferox, wilt leaf liege, and that one selesnya loxodon work? You've been consistently showing up in my recommendations and I've thought to share that idea since I am enjoying the content. Have a good day!
So the issue with those sorts of strategies tends to be that when you aren't paired against the specific thing you are trying to fight, it just is far below the power level of the average legacy deck. Consider what happens when that deck gets paired against Eldrazi Aggro, for example. You're just dead.

I remember that match of Greg's you're talking about. That is my favorite deck in all of magic's history. Absolutely beautiful deckbuilding.
I remember that match! He had a Nivmagus Elemental that absorbed TWO hits from a Blightsteel Colossus.

Vial is a hard sell in Legacy these days.
It's a bit wild how much power has been printed in the last few years.

This deck was called skyies , was a response to all the low cmc and shoal was the fow at home card

Generally speaking, you can only activate equipment on your own creatures. There are exceptions (e.g. Bloodthirsty Blade).
