It's their debut song, but they didn't even look like rookies at all. This song was released three years ago. At that time it was not much appreciated, even in South Korea. They're way ahead of the time in terms of music, as well as their choreography and style. Not to mention their aggressive stage performance. They're one of a kind. To me, they're the kings of KPop's 4th generation.
Also, some information for the nct system-NCT is the name of the whole group. NCT 127- the one who performed superhuman is the group based in Korea(127 is the longitude of Seoul), it's a fixed group with fixed members and it makes comeback regularly. NCT DREAM is the teenager group, the members are under 18. The members graduate from the group after they become adults. WayV is the group based in China. Some members are in multiple groups. For example, mark(graduated from NCT Dream last year) and Heachan are in both NCT DREAM and NCT 127. Other kids from NCT DREAM may go to other fixed teams after they graduate. WINWIN is in both WayV and NCT 127. Hi! VFX / Filmmaking nerd here. The effect at 3:42 was most likely accomplished with a green screen. Once the performer was filmed over the green screen the white was added as a background and the body was then most likely used as a clipping mask with a second piece of footage being layered over with semi-transparency. Hope this helps answer any questions! This pretty much goes for all of the similar overlay effects in the music video.

I'm not a NCT stan, but this MV is in my top 2 favs ever, and not just Kpop. The sound, the artistic lighting, the choreo, the voices, everything came together and became something fantastic.

This was one of the songs that fully sold me on K-pop. I got mildly interested after World's 2018 for LoL, where Soyeon, Miyeon and Bobby absolutely owned the stage. But I wasn't sure yet. I had some songs on my playlist from BTS already just because I thought they were good. But I wasn't sure. Hann, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Bad Boy and The 7th Sense were the ones that finally sold me as to "ok, K-pop is fucking lit." This is still one of the most gorgeous mvs I've ever seen. It's been a long-ass ride. Sorry. Just in case you're unaware this is one of the two NCT units that can change members. NCT Dream is for the younger members, and then they age out. And U was the first unit of NCT (this was NCTs debut song) and the members change to fit the mood or needs of the song. For instance, BOSS is 7 members, this was 5, and Baby Don't Stop is 2.

So you can find a lyric video that translates the words of the song in almost any language fans speak. Usually within hours of any new song or album release you can find English lyric videos that have been created by fans for almost every song on a Kpop album. And the cool thing about lyric videos is that most of the time they are created so you can see who is singing each part of the song and it also can help you to learn the member's names and maybe start to place their names with their faces, if you don't already know them. All you have to do is search English Lyric video with the title of the song and artist on RUclips and you will discover what I mean. :D So there is no need to guess what the song is about because all you have to do is go look it up. So if a video doesn't have lyrics on the official MV, which most videos won't have lyrics (only a few companies provide official English lyrics on their videos), you can look up a lyric video and listen to the song with lyrics so you will know what they are singing about. It will also help you to better hear where they are using English words and lines and where they are speaking Korean, etc. I really encourage you to do this with all the MVs you watch that don't have lyrics because what you will soon discover is that most Koop songs have a deeper meaning and message than what you initially see on the surface. And they often touch on social issues and things within society that need to change or need to be addressed. NCT has a very interesting history line and I really recommend you to find more about it.
I remember when they first released this song and I was like “what is this?” Because SM title tracks are often more upbeat and this was nothing like that. But then as time went on it became one of my favourite songs. I actually do play it all the time. Like I’m on my way to or from work and I put it on. The atmosphere of the whole song is overall as you said trippy and imagine that some trainees preparing for debut were really scared of performing The 7th Sense because it's really hard to match its aura lmao, T7S is how I kinda got into NCT and I couldn't be happier to say that to date it is MY FAVOURITE SONG FROM THEM
PS: I think you would love NCT DREAM's Go or NCT 2018's Black On Black, both MVs are really good even though the BOB one is a performance video
I'm not a NCT stan, but this MV is in my top 2 favs ever, and not just Kpop. The sound, the artistic lighting, the choreo, the voices, everything came together and became something fantastic.

NCT currently has 21 members which ARE divided into subgroups,that are NCT 127,NCT U,NCT DREAM,WAYV.
NCT127 is a fixed member group with 10 members it used to be 9 but it has been changed recently with their latest comeback.For NCT127 you can easily identify their songs as all of their songs has this swaggish or rough concept.They also promote their songs in Japanese as they are expanding their market to there(most groups do this).Some bop songs from them are REGULAR,CHERRY BOMB,LIMITLESS(one of da best 🙏 ever for me),TOUCH and others.
NCT U is a non fixed member group meaning that members can enter and leave depends on the comeback.For instance,BOSS had 7 members while BABY DONT STOP had only 2 members.So it can be quite confusing but bear in mind that it is not fixed and you should never set the number of members of the group.Their concept do changes from time to time so you can say that they are universal.React to their debut 7th SENSE please.
NCT DREAM is a 6 member group.This group has a different concept as they are tied to a young teenagers or cute kinda concept.This is because the group is for anyone that is under the age of 19 I believe.Once you reached that age limit you kinda graduated and go to the older group but there is a member from NCT127 named Haechan(the curly hair one in SIMON SAYS) in NCT DREAM.Please react to GO,WE GO UP,CHEWING GUM and others.
WAYV is a rather different subgroup from the whole NCT.This is because it is not KPOP but it is CPOP which stands for Chinese Pop.They are promoting SM Entertainment in the CPOP industry but nevertheless they are STILL considered as NCT.Their songs are in Chinese but still they manage to make bops.React to REGULAR,TAKE OFF and others.
NCT plans to expand the number of its members and plans on debuting subgroups in different countries.NCT stands for NEO CULTURE TECHNOLOGY.They have a various nationalities of members from American to Thailand.

This was one of the songs that fully sold me on K-pop. I got mildly interested after World's 2018 for LoL, where Soyeon, Miyeon and Bobby absolutely owned the stage. But I wasn't sure yet. I had some songs on my playlist from BTS already just because I thought they were good. But I wasn't sure.
Hann, Ddu-Du Ddu-Du, Bad Boy and The 7th Sense were the ones that finally sold me as to "ok, K-pop is fucking lit."

Just in case you're unaware this is one of the two NCT units that can change members. NCT Dream is for the younger members, and then they age out. And U was the first unit of NCT (this was NCTs debut song) and the members change to fit the mood or needs of the song. For instance, BOSS is 7 members, this was 5, and Baby Don't Stop is 2.

this song will go down as one of my favourite kpop songs ever. it's NCTs debut and it hasn't left the top 5 position since then. I know it may sound a bit repetitive since so many people claim this song to be the best thing ever but at least to me, there really is something special about this one. I would 10/10 recommend looking at the lyrics to this song. They’re sick and really amplify what the video means. A lot of people think it’s a sexy song or a really grundgy song but it’s actually mind-blowingly poetic.
The majority of Kpop MVs do not have English subs on the official MVs. This is especially the case for SM Entertainment groups and artists. About 90 percent of SM projects don't have subs. NCT is an SM Entertainment group. However, if you ever want to know what the lyrics are in ANY Kpop song all you have to do is look up an English lyric video for the song. Kpop fans who speak Korean (or Mandarin or Japanese -- Kpop artists often also have songs that they record in Mandarin for their Chinese audience or Japanese for the Japanese market, etc.) translate all Kpop songs for international fans and they usually do it in numerous languages. So you can find a lyric video that translates the words of the song in almost any language fans speak. Usually within hours of any new song or album release you can find English lyric videos that have been created by fans for almost every song on a Kpop album. And the cool thing about lyric videos is that most of the time they are created so you can see who is singing each part of the song and it also can help you to learn the member's names and maybe start to place their names with their faces, if you don't already know them. All you have to do is search English Lyric video with the title of the song and artist on RUclips and you will discover what I mean. :D So there is no need to guess what the song is about because all you have to do is go look it up.
So if a video doesn't have lyrics on the official MV, which most videos won't have lyrics (only a few companies provide official English lyrics on their videos), you can look up a lyric video and listen to the song with lyrics so you will know what they are singing about. It will also help you to better hear where they are using English words and lines and where they are speaking Korean, etc.
I really encourage you to do this with all the MVs you watch that don't have lyrics because what you will soon discover is that most Koop songs have a deeper meaning and message than what you initially see on the surface. And they often touch on social issues and things within society that need to change or need to be addressed. Although Kpop songs are meant to be enjoyed by the casual listen like you would any song on the radio, if you look at the lyrics you will see that there is a lot more to the song then you thought.

I remember when they first released this song and I was like “what is this?” Because SM title tracks are often more upbeat and this was nothing like that. But then as time went on it became one of my favourite songs. I actually do play it all the time. Like I’m on my way to or from work and I put it on. Like it’s entrancing, but it actually works for a song that you can listen to time and time again on the regular.
