As an owner of the original recording of this show I can tell you guys, this staging is the best that Oz has seen yet. The choreography, sets and costumes are fabulous!
do you have anymore to post? Or share? I've wanted to see this since I was 9 years old and couldn't afford to come to London to see it :)
There might be a chance soon to let people see more. You will know!
M C M X C I I I can u tell me where I can find a recording live production of this or any theatre DVD please??
@@sugaranddirt any chance soon?
@@sugaranddirt Say mate, any chance you could reupload your recording elsewhere?
@71crm That is indeed right. The look and concept of this production took its tone from the popular jazz musical 'The Wiz' and the designs were heavily based on the original illustrations from the Baum books.
Fun fact my mom was one of the munchkins in this production
OMG do u have the Jitterbug? i would love to see that!!!!! it's my favorite number from this show!!!
@jacktodd1 YES PLEASE DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh please, do you have anymore from this version?
I finally started to post some sneak peeks on my channel from the RSC show! Check it out! ❤
if you have anything of the witch, im really intrestedto see the witch played by a man!
There is video material (including Bille Brown as the Wicked Witch) from the original 1989 RSC show on my channel! Check it out!
I read somewhere that the costumes for the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion in this version of The Wizard of Oz actually look a lot like the costumes for The Wiz....the Tin Man looks like he's made out of junk and the Lion waers a coat and pants....is that right?
That's absolutely right! Even though they changed some costumes for the first and second revival after the original RSC production in 1987, the whole look for the show was a combination of the Denslow Illustrations and The Wiz. You can find clips of the original 1989 revival on my channel! Check it out!
@@sugaranddirt and, what's happening with the clips?
@@sailorpluto1556 I think the videos got removed for copyright as the videos aren’t up anymore. Plus when I asked him why it was removed on one of his videos he said the Royal Shakespeare Company took down both videos of both acts.
Is this from the actual RSC version from 1989, or are people just miming along to the cast recording? Either way, please please please please please please post more. This production is amazing.
Do you have any more of it? I've been searching for videos and pictures from the 1989 version for years.
On my channel you'll find clips including the original 1989 RSC cast! Enjoy!
And the Webber version uses the same set style...
