Awesome Video! I'd love to use this method in my waters! Can you point me to a link or instructions on how to make the line-tension release mechanism you made? What component/material did you use? Dumb-it-down for me. Thanks in advance!
Yeah they sure are a cool fish! This is in Queensland, Australia. Lots of options for big GT's around here. Oman would be an awesome place to fish too!
Thanks Mohamed, will have to do an upcoming video showing how to do it! Basically it's a homemade rig that relies on line pressure to release the lure.
cheers for making and posting the vid guys. just a quick question tho, where abouts is this? Im keen to do a trip from Brisbane up north, but got no idea where to start.
Cheers Ahmed, this is in north QLD. A good spot for GT's would be the Whitsunday Islands, there's 74 islands in the group so plenty of spots to explore!
cheers mate, am actually planning a trip up to the whitsundays in september this year. I've got a half cab which I'll live out of for two weeks and hunt around. would you reckon a saltiga 5000 would be enough to tame these beasts, or would you step it up to a 6500 or stella with 30kg of drag?
Hi Ahmed, sounds like an epic trip you have planned! Yeah, you should be ok on the average size GT's around the islands (around 20kg or so) with that gear. Boat positioning can help you land them too - we usually get on the outboard quick after a hook-up and head away from any danger. We use a locked drag with 80lb braid, 150lb leader and always debarb hooks for quick and easy release. Good luck with the trip!
@@CKTaylor1 Glad you finally “told” your secret. Not at all really, but at least we know it isn’t a commercially available mechanism, so we can do the rest of the job thinking a little bit. Maybe two rubber pieces joined together, but not so tight, so you can release the line with a small pull not strong enough to destabilise the drone. Now I only need a small portion of paradise (fish infected waters like that place) 😂
Absolutly fantastic video !! Congratulations !! How to you release the popper ? I can’t really see how you do it and what mecanism you installed on the drone ? Greetings from New-Caledonia.
Thanks for the nice comment Patrick! It's basically a simple homemade rig that relies on line pressure to drop the lure when pulled. Doesn't work all the time but gets the job done!
There is a very cheap drone on the market to get 300/400 to take the fishing line and return? The only end of the camera is to see and throw the plummet, can you advise me? Thanks a lot Eduardo
Taylor Bros Adventures First thank you for your answer but whatball I need Is only to take the plumto 400 mtrs from the coast, but not fishing whit the drone. Eduardo
This to date is the best use of a drone outside multimedia uses. Top catch fellas !!!!!!
Cheers Rocco, thanks for the comment!

Beautiful White Ulua's, I would've freeze 2 and cut up 1. That's enough to feed at least 100+ people each fish!!

Woooww very niceeeee
That’s awesome video guys, thank you 😊
Nice boat you have. What is the name of it?
Hi Dominique, thanks, it's a Quintrex 420 renegade. We've found it to be a great boat all-round! Cheers
Any chance you might be able to do a video how will you set your drone to hold the bait and release? Thank you great channel
Bloody awsome
Love the video
Thanks Wagner!
Nice video - what drone & controller did you use ? Thanks.
It's a DJI PHANTOM 3 or 4
Max I ask please , how many drones did you lost already ? There is some safety system ?
Nice Video Guys
just saw this video and that is some crazy stuff!!! killer video man. What is the release system?
Thanks for the comment! The release system is a home-made mechanism that releases the lure when the line is pulled. Cheers
@@CKTaylor1 Glad you finally “told” your secret. Not at all really, but at least we know it isn’t a commercially available mechanism, so we can do the rest of the job thinking a little bit. Show de bola seu video meu amigo parabéns
Question why do you need a drone if you got a boat is it just to see the fish or to save gas money?
You certainly don't need one - just a bit of fun mainly and you do get to see so much more into the water than down at boat level.
There is a very cheap drone on the market to get 300/400 to take the fishing line and return? The only end of the camera is to see and throw the plummet, can you advise me?
Thanks a lot
Eduardo
Hi Eduardo, yeah apparently the new splash drone 3 can land and take off in the water. That would be a good drone for releasing baits for big fish!
Taylor Bros Adventures
First thank you for your answer but whatball I need
Is only to take the plumto 400 mtrs from the coast, but not fishing whit the drone.
Eduardo
Taylor Bros Adventures

Wow beautifull view nice
Nice 3D Fishes attack 😎
wow nice footage, I need to try this. I have a phantom 3 what did you have your line on for the release?
Thanks Robert! Just a homemade release mechanism was used that relies on line pressure to drop the lure.
taylor bros, have you tried a down rigger release clip, same method in regards to pressure on the line,. works great!
Kereeeen broo..good tekhnik😉😊
What kind of release setup are you using to drop the line?
Just a homemade job that releases the line when the angler pulls on the rod. Works pretty well though!
I have seen Much of your videos i like te channel
Ah thanks very much for watching! Glad you enjoyed! 👍
Very good.....Brasil São Paulo.
