You are adorable. I love watching you and your lovely podcast. The shorts are adorable. I do tend to like your choices of knits. Indianapolis is only two hours from me. It is a busy city. It seems to be very friendly.
If you’re still in Minnesota, you should definitely visit the Yarnery in Saint Paul. It’s one of my favorite yarn stores when I visit there. Loved your video. Popped up on my feed. So glad I checked you out
Ciao Francesca! Enjoyed some very relaxing garter stitch knitting (Pure Joy by Joji Locatelli) while watching your delightful podcast. I've thought about flipping my camera to record as I get very distracted - I might have to give it a go. I love your projects. You are a master at "perfect fit"! Loooooove your shorts. Happy knitting and happy travels to the US soon. :)
Very good choice, I love me some garter stitch too! ❤️ I’m actually on my way to watch your latest episode before bed and I will indeed knit on my (now pretty long) gather wrap. Perfection!
Hello Francesca, I found you through Selma Knits. I was blown away by your English and then when I caught up with some other episodes, I found out that you had lived in the USA for 8 years. Aha, I said that makes sense :-) I visited Italy to attend a book and paper intensive in Fabriano (I'm also a printmaker) and had one month there- it was not enough, I loved loved loved it. and oh the buildings and the streets -so like a fairytale. We visited the hill towns of Umbria and others and I still can't get my head around how they constructed those buildings back then. A lot of very hard intensive work, I'd say!! In every episode prior to this one, you weren't looking at the camera -a very rooky mistake many podcasters make for sure (-I actually don't know how they do this especially if they are computer savvy people, or maybe they don't watch some of their podcasts back for quality and to make sure it's okay for the viewers) but I was so relieved to see that you were finally looking at the camera and not at yourself on the screen!! yay! it's so disengaging when podcasters are looking off to the left. Some of us were asking -who is she looking at? Is there someone else in the room? so yay for you finally figuring out how to do it so we feel you are talking to us. Your knits are turning out beautifully and it's great to see how they fit on you. thanks so much for the podcast and I'll go and binge watch some episodes now while I knit on the Andy sweater - a bobble sweater by Kohlibri, Johanna. it's so cute and I do like a v neck top. Round necks don't look so good on me. ciao for now, Linda x
Linda, thank you for sharing about your trip. I have some family in Fabriano actually but I haven’t visited the town in a while so I should really go back, as it’s lovely. ❤️ Thank you for sticking with me even if I wasn’t looking at the camera. It’s still a bit hard not to steady my gaze to where the camera lens is, but I’m making progress. Bye for now and happy knitting!
Hello Francesca, thank you so much for feauturing the photo of my version of the Hemingay shorts and for all your kind words 😊 I'm glad you're happy with how your shorts turned out, I absolutely love them in yellow! I hope they'll serve you well! Mine had stretched out a bit but nothing too bad. Can't wait to wear them again next year!
Great idea about washing the garment before the ribbing. I am in the process of lengthening the ribbing on a sweater. I don't want to unravel more than that! 😄. Great video!! Took lots of notes!
cucu Francesca dear 💚 yes your podcasts are always such a fresh, relaxing cute moment and your knits are always spot on. I LOVE those shorts!!! and yellow is one of my favourite colours. I also love belle drops yarn, have not tried the other ones you mention yet. I am putting those shorts on my summer wishlist, I wonder if they could be made in winter fibers and long, as loungewear? Love all the colour choices, the test knit sweater is coming out great...as for the wrap, I think that when one makes a great fabric, soft and with a nice color, even the "humble" garter stitch is great...purl soho also has a free pattern half and half which is a huge shawl..blanket(?) made in a sea of garter stitch but there are some short rows I think...I would like to make it but the huge-ness of it intimidates me...who knows if one day I will attempt to do it... Enjoy yourself in Minneapolis cara, we'll stay in touch 💚💚🧶🧶🧶
That Lobelia Sweater raglan detail!!! So stunning. Almost makes me get over my aversion to reverse stockinette... Lovely episode as always, thank you for sharing :)
When using the chiaogoo, I like to use the "longer" needle on the right hand side, and the shorter needle on the left. The "longer" needle has just a bit sharper point on it which I enjoy working with. I always look forward to your podcasts:)
Love how your Ingrid sweater turned out! You've definitely put it on my to knit list.. for next summer :D I'd love a more indepth review of your new Chiaogoo set once you've worked with it more, I'm thinking about getting that one too!
Errr so far, no good 😂 My hands feel kinda cramped and not comfortable when I use them, like I would expect when knitting on such a short cable. I think they could be very useful for people who don’t enjoy magic loop though or who do a lot of colorwork/complicated stitch patterns on sleeves.
Ciao Francesca! I love your Ingrid sweater. It looks lovely on you. I can't wear collars so close to my neck, but maybe I might make it for my daughter-in-law....hmmm? Anyway, I had a great September on my cruise visiting Venice, Croatia, other parts of Italy. I did take my knitting of a Kumulus Tee, but wasn't inspired. I'm now watching videos to try and get my mojo back. Wish me luck! Rosie
Rosie! How was your cruise? I remember you mentioning it was in your plans… I hope it was great and I’m kinda happy you didn’t have time or inspiration to knit, as I assume it means that there were even more interesting things to do and to see! 🎉
@@AnItalianKnitter The trip was amazing. I love Italy, of course! But seeing it from a cruise isn't the best as there isn't enough time at each port. I also need to go back to Croatia. Hope all is well!
The Hemingway shorts look so comfortable! Maybe I'll try to make a pair in some kind of wool/merino that I can use under skirts in the winter after all 😍 and I can't get over the colors of your peacock sweater swatch. Oh my. I need that orange in my life.
Hello from downunder 🇦🇺 You are just delightful Francesca. Love all your knits and your sense of humour 🤭 I just smile the whole way through. Going to do the Ingrid top soon but your sweater 🥰 thanks for sharing, Karen
Hello! I’d be so interested in how your Ingrid top turns out. I really one to make one next summer. What color/yarn are you thinking about? Cheers from Italy 👋
Hi, I'm resending my comment, as I'm not sure you saw it, I realised I attached it to an old Podcast, I was rewatching some, to review a Tee you made, and while watching them...I realised amazing they are....so I wrote the following. Italian Knitter, I Absolutely love Love LOVE your podcast. Your presentation is so relaxed, like getting advice from a friend over coffee.. I don’t if it’s because, lm all things Italian right now because l want to visit Italy Spring next year for my birthday… but you make me hungry for more.. The items you choose to knit, even though you work from patterns, l love the way, you almost always personalise them in some way… lm still reluctant to try to do that in my own projects… I’d love it you would recommend places to visit for my birthday tour… l’d love to visit Italian yarn fests & stores…places that are not so crazy touristy… l know that’s bad grammar - but you get what l mean… thanx for reading my drivel, your fault… seriously, you are the ‘bomb’ Beverley- England
Beverley, I’m the worst at keep up with comments and replying to them, as I don’t have a lot of time these days. I ended up replying to your older comment a few minutes ago. Thank you for your patience and hoping you’ll end up visiting Italy soon!
I love love love your Ingrid sweater! It looks like it would be so fun to knit up! I don't know about the city in the US you're going to visit, but some Vlog content from your trip would be awesome! Also, turning your camera around turned out great btw! Have a wonderful day!
I would love to try this in my next garter wrap or shawl. I’m actually a fan of slipping just the last stitch, but I should give it a go to slipping 2 or 3 and see how I like that. Thank you for the ideal! 🙏
Hi Francesca! Just want to let you know your podcast is so enjoyable and a great inspiration! Love your style, pattern choices and colors, and the way you edit the podcast is relaxing to listen and fun to watch. As you said, it should not be perfect at all! Keep doing what you do! 👌💛 Knitting greetings from the Netherlands!
Good morning and while I’m having my morning coffee and knitting I found your channel. Love your knitting enthusiam! I just started my own channel phew! I respect all the effort that goes into your podcast!
I just ordered the blue set ChiaoGoo. I just struggle with magic loop. I also have the red set and love them! I’ll be interested to see how you like them!
It’s funny to me that. As a knitter who stopped for several years and is getting back into it I have noticed how many people feel the need to use the same yarn the designer used in their pattern. This was hardly ever done 10 years ago. Now everyone is using the same yarn and social media is playing such a huge role in that. Alpaca has a wonderful drape. I wouldn’t worry about that at all.
Hi Francesca. I got so inspired by your Ingrid sweater so I got the pattern and cast on immediately. Struggling with creating jogless transition from row 8 to 9 when knitting ribbon eyelet in the round. How did you resolve it? Thanks
Francesca, my love, please please PLEASE sing for us. Also I love everything you do and I wanna be you when I grow up (are you older or younger than me? Why dont i know!)
Ira, you know I love you and I would do anything for you (and if you didn’t know, now you know), HOWEVER I would NEVER sing in public. A lady never discloses her age, but I’m not a lady so I can tell you that I turned 33 at the beginning of November 😬
Ciao Donna, io non ho niente del genere, però qui su RUclips potresti seguire Martina (Badialima su Instagram) youtube.com/@badialimaknits She does videos in Italian as well as in English. Good luck!
I am so in love with that Dad's sweater!! Gorgeous.
I love your sense of humour, also I love your knitting projects.
The ingrid sweater is so lovely. 😊

Those shorts are lovely!!! The Ingrid sweater looks gorgeous!! I feel like a giant or dinosaur whenever I use those shorties 😂

If you're in Minneapolis I recommend going to Minnehaha Falls, it's one of our largest waterfalls and it's in the neighboring city of St. Paul.

I’ve bought yarn from The Yarnnery in MN and they have lovely, lovely yarns. Never been since I’m not near them but I would recommend that you visit.

Your video is spot on you are definitely looking right at me and it’s clear and feels natural
Glad to hear this! 🎉

I am also stranded on a Cumulus Tee sleeve island 😂Lovely episode, as always. Cordiali saluti!
Incredible! I haven’t finished mine yet. Those sleeves are so short, why can’t I know finish them? 😅
If you want neat edges in the wrap, you could do an icord, by slipping the last 2/3 sts of every row.
I would love to try this in my next garter wrap or shawl. I’m actually a fan of slipping just the last stitch, but I should give it a go to slipping 2 or 3 and see how I like that. Thank you for the ideal! 🙏

Could you do a video about the history of knitting in Italy? I’d love to learn traditional Italian knitting patterns and motifs.
Hey Theresa, I know exactly nothing about the history of knitting in Italy, I’m sorry 😅 It is an interesting topic but I have never researched it.
Good morning and while I’m having my morning coffee and knitting I found your channel. Love your knitting enthusiam! I just started my own channel phew! I respect all the effort that goes into your podcast!
