Sir you need some headphones.. I'm not even kidding the noises that you hear out of these men with those on are just breathtaking.. your reactions are adorable 🏡🤩🏡🍟
Do Take Me Home Country Roads next. Harmonic perfection. Their harmonies really speak to your very soul. It's the blending of five perfect voices that emanate from THEIR souls❤
Such a hauntingly beautiful rendition of this songs. We always wonder why they are not on every radio station or have a much bigger following. It’s one of mystery
I somehow managed to miss this song, so this is my first time listening to it too. Using Tim as the lead vocal with his incredible bass voice, you can feel it in your chest. I agree. There is not enough visibility of them in the music industry. They SHOULD be bigger represented in the industry.
I'm sure you've been told already, but Austin sings the highest notes. It's Tim who rocks your brain with the basement bass. Love your channel and your heartfelt response to Home Free! I agree - they should be topping the charts. They chose to go their own direction, independent of the record labels and their sometimes brutal control of artists they represent. Home Free's road to success has been longer as a result, but along the way they have accumulated the most loyal and loving fan base of any group, I believe. I respect them for their talent (obviously), but equally for their fearlessness and honesty. I think many HF fans feel the same way.
You, sir, are a very talented reactor. I really enjoy your insightful Home Free reactions. It's really nice to see a person who really "gets" how talented HF is- once in a generation talent! You mentioned a Christmas song by The Temptations, you should check out HF's Do You Hear What I Hear- it's transcendental!
I think one of the reasons Home Free isn't on every radio station around the country is they are independent from commercial music companies. After their win on The Sing Off they had a contract with a big music label that wanted control of what HF produced, Home Free decided they wanted the freedom to choose what they recorded and how they recorded. They passed up the corporate PR in order to maintain their independence and fore go the publicity the big company could give them. A TV station in Australia, Studio 10 program, showcased HF when they were in Australia, they performed "Road Sweet Road" an original by HF live. It's on their channel if you get a chance to check it out.
I don't believe it was a accident these men found each other. They are close friends, and each one is blessed with amazing talents. They do it all...sing, direct, write, play instruments.....and they mesh like fine machinery. I believe Divine intervention played a part in bringing them together. Each one brings a unique quality to the party. And there are no stars; each one gets his chance to shine. They never disappoint. Only that's not Austin, my dear. That is the one and only Tim Foust.😊 He's The Man.
SO VERY BEAUTIFUL, AND YET SO SAD.....ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL......THANKS FOR THE REACTION!!!!, .....DREW, FYI: Tim Foust Meet Nederland Native Tim Foust Who Sings Bass For Home Free.
💖🍟Please Please Please if you aren't wearing some sort of headphones you are only listening to Home Free, you aren't HEARING them! Don't miss out on ANY of their sweet sounds! Headphones! Enjoying your reactions & - have subscribed.
I love your thoughtful reactions. They also have original music and are talented songwriters. Tim Foust, the basso profoundo, cowrote the title track on their latest album with Austin Brown, high tenor called So Long Dixie.
They are simply fantastic. Brothers In Arms has been a favorite Dire Straits song since it came out. The war behind the song may be in the past, but the sentiment applies even more today. The group that re-arranged this for instrument free performance, Club for Five, (correction) I believe, did an awesome job. But HF added that little extra they always find.
Home Free is known for mimicking instruments like drums, harmonica, juice harp, and many more. However, in this exceptionally beautiful song, the guys come together to make the sound of a pipe organ! This song is often referred to as their masterpiece. The bass singer you were giving props to is Tim Foust, the other lead was Adam Chance, Baritone/Bass, Choir boys in the back are left to right; Adam Rupp, Beatboxer, Rob Lundquist, Tenor, and last but not least, Austin Brown, High Tenor. I enjoy your reactions! Have you done their cover of John Mayer's "In the Blood", Trace Adkins' "I Can't Outrun You" or Crosby Stills and Nash's "Helplessly Hoping". Keep up the good work!
They grab your heart with EVERYTHING they do. It grabs your heart with heavy feels, but, then, another song can lift your heart up! They are THE BEST!!! ❤
I have always been a fan of this song by Dire Straits but think Home Free did an excellent version of this song. Tim's natural breathy bass was awesome along with Chance's smooth baritone & loved it when all the guys were doing 5 part harmonies. Who would believe humming could sound so good. They gave it a very solemn feeling. I love that they don't overproduce their songs. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there.
My own introduction to Dire Straits was to Sultans of Swing in 1976 and have been a fan ever since. When I heard Home Free do their rendition of this I thought it gave a very deep feeling to it, their timing may be part as our country is such a mess and as you say many of the wrong people are making the decisions and getting the rewards when the real talent is being overlooked. Well done tonight.
This is one of HF's masterpieces. HF released their version of Brothers In Arms just before Veterans Day a few years back, so you were right about it being played for Veterans Day. This past Memorial Day, several reactors reacted to Brothers In Arms, another very fitting holiday.
Love your reaction to this hauntingly poignant and powerful song. It hits hard. The arrangement, Tim and Chance’s deep bass solos, the pipe organ sounds of Adam, Rob and Austin in the background - it leaves us slack-jawed. Next time, please react to Home Free (and other a cappella group) with headphones, you will notice a significant difference and discover all sorts of layers you likely missed the first time around. Next up 3 of their best covers: Listen to the Music Take Me Home Country Roads (they worked on the arrangement for 5 years, until they felt they’d done John Denver justice), and I Can’t Outrun You (video direction and concept by Chance) And 3 of their latest releases: Might As Well Be Me (original, please pause to read their bios and answers, it will add to the hilarity) The Horses feat. Travis Collins and Amy Sheppard, and Playing with Fire (original, watch to the end).
Ever since Home Free bought out their contract with a recording company, they have been so much happier as an independent company. Okay, the mainstream franchises don't seem to support a cappella so much. No guitars, I guess. But HF has made a good living off their own channels and touring income, and love being their own bosses. They can sing whatever genre they want, and they just plain love to sing!. I love that you are following our guys. They are the best, and my favorite of the vocal groups (all of which are amazing!).
Home Free has the amazing ability to make already great songs their own. I admire several bass singers but Tim Foust has an amazing tone that I think edges out everyone else. Chance is unique and I love him more and more. Rob is unbelievable. Austin - what can you say? Adam Rupp is inhuman. The best arrangements and the best vocalists that I could listen to all day every day.
The guys did a wonderful job with this song. It is a very haunting song. It was tough to listen to the first time. Tim and Chance are amazing with the lead. Adam, Rob and Austin also are amazing. Thank you so much.
Some of their “lack” of sucess is their choice, I believe. They won’t do just anything for fame. This song was their tribute to Veteran’s Day in 2021 (I think). They do a Veteran’s benefit in WI every year. By the way, the bass is Tim Foust. Austin Brown is the high tenor. And yes, they are all incredibly talented, and lucky to have found each other. Great reaction, new subscriber.
I agree. I think Home Free is happy with their success. They have families (2 have kids). They are cutting back on their touring. A lot of them have side projects. They have a huge fan base that supports them. They can choose what projects & venues they want to do. I think they are happy with where they are.
I am so glad you got to check this out. I knew it would blow you away. Try listening it with headphones. Those bass notes will come to life. Tim Foust is the bass that started the song. Tim being a true bass has a 6 octave range. He can sing the lowest of lows to a high tenor were Austin sings. Chance that sang with Tim is the baritone/bass, Rob is the tenor, and Adam Rupp the beatboxer as you know. There are some older video that has Adams brother Chris Rupp in them . Chris and Adam started Home Free back in 2000. Chris left the group in 2016 and Chance replaced him. These guys love what they do and it shows. They have many songs that are fun and make you laugh. check out "The Butt mix", Elvira, 9 to 5. " , "Blue ain't your color" will show their Temptation dance moves. These are just to name a few. Enjoy!
It’s one of my favorites of theirs. The bass is Tim though not Austin. Austin is the high tenor. Rob (glasses) is a tenor. Chance is the baritone/bass and Adam is the beatboxer. Yeah Tim killed it here. He’s remarkable in that he has a range of 5 octaves. He can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors. Amazing! There is a great song called Playing with Fire that Austin wrote and features him. Skull and Bones (live version) to the Ubisoft crowd is fantastic where Tim goes insanely low. Good reaction although I wish you would wear headphones or earbuds to hear every detail. 😍🤩
No need to apologize for the emotion they evoke with their exceptional vocalization that makes you think instruments and insane harmonies are all happening at times you are not expecting or prepared to encounter as they bring the words alive in way you have never heard before. Their arrangements are sensationally good and they own the presentation in a new way that just wow you!!! They simply take a cover and make it new and make it better every time. The legendary status of our Home Free vocalists just keeps mounting to greater accolades that is very deserving of our attention. They are simply amazing and yet they are very humble. It is a privilege to enjoy their vocal gifts!!!! ❣
I loved your reaction to this song. I cried when I heard this song I don’t cry easily anymore but but uhhh this one got me. Thank son for a beautiful reaction almost as good as the song. 😢
Ethereal. Haunting. Gut wrenching. Soul stirring. Angelic. The only thing missing was the seraphic choir backing them up. Excuse me while I track down my soul and stuff it back into my body...
If you think they sound beautiful without a headset wait until you hear them with one! You would be surprised what a huge difference it makes. I think if you listened to this again with a headset you would be even more amazed. That is a suggestion of course but I would love to see you have the whole experience, especially when it comes to the bass. All that aside, I really enjoy your heartfelt and honest reactions. I’m so glad that you are enjoying my favorite group. Have a great day. 😀❤️
I agree with you whole heartedly. Alot of the new artists and new genres of music can never compare to classic singers of the past and the great artists like Home Free and Pentatonix. Some of the new music to me has limited meaning and that's if you can even understand what they are singing. Love your reactions. Keep up the good work
These guys bought out their contract from a major level in order to produce music that they want to give to the people. Major labels control who gets the limelight and they also dictate what music their artists produce. Home Free is an independent artist with freedom to create what is in their hearts. Kudos to them! That is why they are loved so much! They are way more talented than any corporately controlled group out there and deserve all the support they garner.
These guys are best harmonizing groups I’ve ever heard and I’ve really enjoyed every one of your journeys on this channel. If you get a chance Check out Cab Calloway and the Nicholas brothers jumpin jive and especially Cap Calloway performing Minnie the moocher and St. James infirmary live. Just be aware the live performances are from the 1950s and 40s
They're very real - watch some of their lighthearted videos and you'll see how funny and endearing they are. The music is always amazing. Try their cover of Listen to the Music, or their most recent video Playing With Fire. Love Home Free.
I love this song and I agree with you that Home Free should be a household name worldwide! The lead in this song was sung by Tim Foust, the group’s bass. You called him Austin, but Austin Brown is their high tenor. Both do solo work as well!
I agree with your amazement with the talent of each member of this group and the shock that they are not recognized as they should be. Thank you for sharing their music and your respect of them!
I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal) Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body! This is so emotional. Beautifully sung by Tim and Chance, but the background and harmony of Adam, Rob and Austin is also so beautiful. It looks like a choir or actually a kind of church organ sounds. And the whole setting of the video is just amazing. Simple but with so many details that makes it so profound
Missing is Mark Knopfler's mastery of guitar nuance, but present is the amazing acapella voices of 'Home Free'... It'd be fun if you listen to the studio version of Dire Strait's 'Wild West End' then hear Home Free do it. 😏 Sounded like a tough vocal for the baritone!
Hauntingly beautiful is the best way to describe this song. My husband suffers from ptsd and usually has to skip this song. But it’s incredibly powerful.
Mark Knophler of Dire Straights wrote this beautiful poetry, but Home Free has a way of smashing you rite between the eyes with EVERY WORD and every emotion you could possibly wring out of this song.
I know what you mean; I think this a lot. So many talents, so much wisdom, wasted through centuries of neglect and bigotry. But I also believe that's why it's written the meek shall inherit the earth. Everything, everyone, will be recognized for eternity and share their blessings. Some day.
I'm enjoying your Home Free journey as all us Home Fries have been down that same road. The journey never ends, it just becomes a wonderful way of life.
Home Free always pays appropriate respect in their covers--especially to the content! Their talent is amazing--and I LOVE their 5-part harmony❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥
I've viewed your Home Free reaction videos where you've taken the familiar journey of astonsiahment watching these gentlemen. We've long ago exhausted all known superlatives trying to describe what we witness watching them preform. At this point the only approach left it to just take a seat, buckle up, and watch in frequent disbelief what you're hearing is actually real.
Yes, this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Dire straights did a good job, but HF added depth to it, and their harmonies, what else can we way about that? The harmonies at 3:49 minutes gets to me everytime, and Tim took his voice straight down, all the while pointing to the floor like YEAH, this is where I'm going. This song straight up gives me goosebumps. Whoever arranged this version, GENIUS.
Well there is a significant amount of talent that has come from A Capella groups, but there was no label interested in creating a market or pushing it into the mainstream. That is until NBC created a show in 2009 titled the "Sing-off" that was exclusively for A Capella groups only with the winning group getting a "prize" of $100,000 dollars and a Sony recording contract. So, in 2009 winning group Nota got their $100,000 dollars and Sony dropped them from the contract 2 weeks later. In the following season 2, the group "Committed" won the 2010 competition and just like Nota they got their $100.000 prize and Sony dropped them 2 weeks later. In season 3 the group "Pentatonix" won in 2011, except the prize was now $200,000 dollars. And, once again the winners got their money but Sony kept to their pattern and dropped Pentatonix 2 weeks later. in 2012 there was no Sing-off that season, but in 2013 season 4, Home Free won the title that season, but there is something that has to be acknowledged at this point. The group Pentatonix began making their own videos after being dropped by Sony and loading them onto youtube. Soon they became viral so much that by 2013 they were asked to perform on the Sing-off. So this is where Pentatonix and Home Free met each other and it was also right about the time Pentatonix was breaking through the barrier and getting into the mainstream, There are many things for you to check out with both of these groups.... Especially their Sing-off journey!
Now is time to react to a Chance lead-“I Can’t Outrun You “. 5 part harmony, hauntingly beautiful, and Chance directed the video. You’ll get a good listen to Chance’s lower register. And I agree with the suggestions here that you need to use headphones, especially when listening to HF. They will pick up tones that you’re not getting.
Do you have a PO Box because seriously… I am going to mail you some headphones so that you can hear this music the way it SHOULD be heard. It will BLOW YOU AWAY. 😊
Sir you need some headphones.. I'm not even kidding the noises that you hear out of these men with those on are just breathtaking.. your reactions are adorable 🏡🤩🏡🍟
TIM IS THE BASS, AUSTIN IS HIGH TENOR; YOUR RIGHT THEY'RE FANTASTIC
Tim is the bass, Austin is the high voice. They all are super down to earth.
Do Take Me Home Country Roads next. Harmonic perfection. Their harmonies really speak to your very soul. It's the blending of five perfect voices that emanate from THEIR souls❤
They released it for Veteran's Day in 2021. As a vet, I really felt it. Wonderful reaction.
Such a hauntingly beautiful rendition of this songs. We always wonder why they are not on every radio station or have a much bigger following. It’s one of mystery
The Bas is Tim Foust!
I agree with your assessment and have been proud to be a Home fry in the company of such sincere and discerning music lovers.
I recommend Tim Faust, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/ Stay. Your mind will be immediately blown!
You would probably like their new song "Playing with Fire" and Home Free version of "Listen to the Music" is a must hear.
I think one of the reasons Home Free isn't on every radio station around the country is they are independent from commercial music companies. I agree with you. They are the best I've ever heard. And to have a group in which every one is as talented as the other is wild.
I don't believe it was a accident these men found each other. They are close friends, and each one is blessed with amazing talents. They do it all...sing, direct, write, play instruments.....and they mesh like fine machinery. I believe Divine intervention played a part in bringing them together. Unfortunately, in modern popular music, talent doesn't actually equal level of success, and vice-versa.
Home Free does an excellent rendition of O Holy Night... stunning!
SO VERY BEAUTIFUL, AND YET SO SAD.....ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL......THANKS FOR THE REACTION!!!!, .....DREW, FYI: Tim Foust
Meet Nederland Native Tim Foust Who Sings Bass For Home Free.
This song absolutely sends chills down my spine..... Love these five amazing beautiful souls 💓🤩 Love my Home Free 🏡🆓🏡🍟
Love all their work...but this one is their best, by far.
Oh, they are very real and the most down to earth guys. Thanks. 🍟

Austin is the tall thin redhead!
After this serious one you need to hear home free cover of “brother”, humerous but still excellent vocal

Thank you for recognizing the greatness of a cappella. The purest form of music.
Thanks for your time and reactions
I agree with you whole heartedly. Alot of the new artists and new genres of music can never compare to classic singers of the past and the great artists like Home Free and Pentatonix. Some of the new music to me has limited meaning and that's if you can even understand what they are singing. Love your reactions. Keep up the good work
One Voice by Home Free with Billy Gilman. The single most emotional song I have ever heard.
These guys bought out their contract from a major level in order to produce music that they want to give to the people. A cappella is the purist music.
Cool!!! Home Free and ☘️ Larry Legend in the same night! Thank 😊 you.
These guys are pure talent in a time where it's not always appreciated as much as it should be.
These extraordinary men are so enjoyable to listen to-chills with this one! Thank you for an excellent reaction.
I always liked the Dire Straits version, but I only got really interested in this song through Home Free. (Although I have to be honest I think Dire Straits guitar playing is phenomenal)
Yes, this version of Home Free will send shivers through your entire body!
I agree with you 1000%….They are so Amazingly Talented…..Thank You so very much for your great reaction 👍🫶🏼👍
So Talented, Great Reaction
Missing is Mark Knopfler's mastery of guitar nuance, but present is the amazing acapella voices of 'Home Free'... It'd be fun if you listen to the studio version of Dire Strait's 'Wild West End' then hear Home Free do it. 😏 Sounded like a tough vocal for the baritone!
Hauntingly beautiful is the best way to describe this song. My husband suffers from ptsd and usually has to skip this song. But it’s incredibly powerful.
Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Swearing In Day. The days of Brotherhood in Arms.
They are definitely underatted. This should have won tons of awards
Some day.
Those guys are way to talented
The photography in this is incredible. So perfect to the song. However a man or woman blinded would see this through the music.
I'm enjoying your Home Free journey as all us Home Fries have been down that same road. The journey never ends, it just becomes a wonderful way of life.
Home Free always pays appropriate respect in their covers--especially to the content! Their talent is amazing--and I LOVE their 5-part harmony❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Such a genius touch to show the silhouette of the fellas in front of the window. I know some see it as a "ghost"y reference but it strikes me as a reflection of the POW/MIA flag. We'll never know just how many of those met the same fate as the soldier of this song. 😥
Sounds like something you'd hear in Heaven. Seriously.
You are somebody, all God's children. You do a great job. Proud of yoy!
This is hauntingly beautiful but also sad as it's depicting the final moments of a soldier dying on the battlefield.
They don't do it for the money and recognition, yes that's great, but they honestly LOVE what they do and for us because they know we love it too ❣️
This is the first time I've heard this. Thank you so very much! Outstanding. Austen is a tenor.
Masterpiece
Yes, this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. Dire straights did a good job, but HF added depth to it, and their harmonies, what else can we way about that? The harmonies at 3:49 minutes gets to me everytime, and Tim took his voice straight down, all the while pointing to the floor like YEAH, this is where I'm going. This song straight up gives me goosebumps. Whoever arranged this version, GENIUS.
I listen to Home Free all the time. Love them.
Have you never heard Tennessee Ernie Ford? Another smooth bass! Tim is amazing
You mentioned a Christmas song and HF has some excellent ones.
Yeah as other say--Tim is the deep voice and yes he's great.
I agree with you on their talent. Oops, though, about "Austin" while you were talking about the bass, who is Tim Faust.
Thank you. Wonderful reaction!
Love your reaction 💖. 🤠HF is amazing
❤❤
Do you have a PO Box because seriously… I am going to mail you some headphones so that you can hear this music the way it SHOULD be heard. It will BLOW YOU AWAY. 😊
