A very classy & humble guy. Will be great to see him in TOC.

I'm still upset...*weep*
Classy,Humble guy...
Won’t be great to see Jonathan today. 🤮
@@GETENT a
One of the classiest contestants on jeopardy! Smart. Humble. Real likable guy! I watched every day and will miss him!
Enjoy your winnings Matt! You deserve it!
Matt was a joy to support. I miss him on Jeopardy. The new Jeopardy winner, Jonathan Fisher, is doing well but for me, he's not as much fun to support as Matt Amodio has been. I imagine Jeopardy, and maybe other media outlets will be contacting him.
Kel Nonni you said it all perfectly! I completely agree.
@@beja3387 I like Jonathan Fisher. I hope we'll get to see a rematch in the Tournament of Champions.
You said it better than I would have done. YAY !!
Humble, sweet, handsome, smart as heck, and loveable. He made Jeopardy exciting! I can't wait for the TOC!
The thing Millions of Us Enjoyed Watching was Matt's Humble, Kind & So Respectful to His Fellow Man, Always Focusing on The Positive! To Think He came on The Show to Honor His Dad's Request to Try Out!!! We Sure Enjoyed Watching an Incredible Run!!! Best Wishes Young Man!!!
And thank you to your dad, Matt, for encouraging you to run - and you did it for him! I know your dad is so incredibly proud of you. We love you!!
If you didn't butcher the English language like you did, maybe I'd appreciate you more. I hope you won't be that way in The Tournament of Champions.
@@Mikep487 There you are again! When are you going to behave? You sound so jealous Mike
I really enjoyed Matt's smartness and humility. When answering questions you could see the wheels turning in his brain, but his little smile when correct was golden. Well done Matt - see you soon!
My heart is broken. It was a joy to see you play. Nice to see you grateful and not being a sore loser
Such a great guy, I really enjoyed following your streak Matt! Can’t wait to see you back for the tournament of champions! The most fun I’ve had watching Jeopardy since Alex
I hadn't thought of it that way, but I feel the same.
what a great mind,, a real jeopardy winner
Im so sad to see Matt go, watched every game since hes been on. Such a genuine nice guy. Hope to see him again
Thank you Matt for showing others what a true winner looks like, you were so respectful, humble and nice to all the other contestants!!
Like Alex, Matt will be in our hearts and minds for many years. Great game play, charm, wit and humility. Thanks for many weeks of great fun! Now, get on with your life and we will see you again.
Congratulations Matt!!! You are an amazing Jeopardy champion, intelligent and humble. It's been exciting watching you.
He definitely made the show fun to watch again. Since the passing of Alex and all of the guest hosts, it just hasn't felt like the same show but he brought back a sense of familiarity. Sad to see him go.
You’re absolutely right, Chad! After Alex Trebek, no one had really given the show that spark I saw in Mr. Trebek. What a gentleman!! It took Matt, with his humble demeanor and smile, to make Jeopardy more than just an interesting ride for me.
Exactly, and much needed.
@@arlenemiranda3702 Why? Don't you appreciate the game for what it is? Do you have to have a long-standing winner to appreciate it? Everybody wants to win, not just him. Gentlemen don't butcher the English language the way Amodio did.
Admire this man on so many different levels. Hope all aspects of his life reach great heights.
At least he's in the Top 3 of the highest earners of Jeopardy behind Ken Jennings and James Holtzhauer. We'll see him in the Tournament of Champions.
Just a slight clarification: he’s third in winnings from regular gameplay, but fourth in overall Jeopardy winnings (Brad Rutter is first, Ken Jennings second, and James Holzhauer third). Having said that, Matt’s been an amazing player, and I’m looking forward to seeing him play at the next TOC!
@@CountSolo, the 2022 Tournament of Champions will be coming soon. I wonder who else will be there. I remembered Courtney Shah have her 7-day winning streak and she's the second recent player to be in the 2022 TOC. In the 2021 TOC, Sam Kavanaugh was the champ.
He passed Holzhauer in total wins, but not money.
@@jackjones2361 Holhauzer didn't manke money during the game. Some of his money are from THETOC ,then when they played the Goat tournament he got some money again.Actually Matt made more money si
during the game and he's second to Jennings with the wins.
On top of that he's PH d student on computer Science. How about Holhauzer ?
Holtzhauer is just a gambler who gets lucky with gutsy play with random trivia. I expect a PhD student to do better than a gambler
Humble, kind and smart...what a breath of fresh air Matt Amodio is!
I agree
I knew that eventually your run would end but man, I certainly didn't expect it to hit me so hard! It was such a great experience tuning in every day and following you on your Jeopardy! adventure. With absolutely no disrespect to future contestants/champions, it's going to be difficult to muster as much excitement as I had for you. Cannot wait for the TOC! All the best to you, Matt!
Wow I’ve been watching since day one! Matt was the reason I started watching again, I really believe he’s the best jeopardy player, I’ve been watching since I was probably 5 years old
@ Mike Rotch At 71 I have been watching from the beginning myself. As a matter of fact even though I had 4 years of college basically for sports & to stay out of the Vietnam war, my intelligence comes from game shows. Hated classrooms & never read an entire book. Matt is 1 of the most well spoken gentlemen I have ever seen. He must have had "brain fog" the day he lost? I'll bet the ratings have dropped down a bit? Can't wait for the TOC.
@@lionheartmerrill1069 I know exactly, it really did seem like he was off that game and maybe he had something going on in his life, I haven’t watched since he lost it’s a different vibe now
@@mikerotch1249 I have watched 1 show, the excitement is gone. You may be right, he had something else going on. I think he said that they tape 5 shows a day, that would get old. I was on live TV, KTLA 5, "Popeye Show" when I was 7. The lights, camera & action scared me. I don't like cameras or attention to this day & is the reason I never tried to get on my favorite show. I'm going to rewatch the show he lost. Take care.
I agree that Matt was a pleasure to watch during his incredible run. In this interview he is so articulate. I was very impressed by how well he expressed himself without ever uttering the words "I mean," "you know," or "like!" How refreshing!
Congratulations Matt! We are so proud of you and admire you for the way you are simple and humble.
Such an adorable guy. I'm going to miss him.
Matt brought the joy back to Jeopardy! after a long sad time. ♥
A gracious, likable contestant with an incredibly broad knowledge base. A real pleasure to watch. I have a feeling Alex would be proud of how he played the game and how he treated all his opponents with respect. A real gentleman!
Oh I was so upset to see Matt end his winning streak.I enjoyed this intelligent, humble man.You were a joy to watch.I did not miss one single day watching Matt.
Hello Matt. I feel like I know you. I tried to watch you in Jeopardy a lot of nites. You are incredible and you have a mind and memory extremely a genius and in my book of life you are. You also have a great personality You made your Mom and Dad proud and Im happy for that. Take care of yourself and find someone to love and make you happy. Stay sweet and Keep on with your studies and Im sure you will go very far. God bless you and your family. You are one of my favorites. Keep on Smiling. It looks good on you.
So sad to see him go. He seems to be so humble and a kind person. Can't wait to see him again on theTournament of Champions!
What a Great Champion, with a wealth of knowledge and experience. God Bless, it was a pleasure watching those 38 Days.
Well look at it this way, Matt, even though you didn’t catch Ken Jennings, you got more than halfway there. In the 17 years that Ken has been the record holder for longest winning streak, no one else has ever made it to the halfway point of his record before. You say Ken is your idol. Well, now in way, you’re protecting him because if anyone wants to catch Ken, they’ll have to catch you first! Great job, Matt!
🤩🤩🤩
Well said Alexander Pytko.
Congratulations, Matt! And thank you for an exciting run on Jeopardy! Looking forward to seeing you compete in the Tournament of Champions. Wish your streak had continued a little longer. Good luck in your Ph.D. work. Looks like you'll be able to use that brilliant mind to advance technology and make this world a better place!
I love that he is brilliant and so humble. Just a nice guy and I already miss is presence on the show.
Will always be a fan! Matt is obviously an intelligent, humble, sweet, classy guy!! His smile alone is a pleasure!! God bless wherever he goes in his future!! Hope to see him again though!!🙏🥰🙏
I love how sweet and humble he is. What a great champ. Absolute Epic Player!🥰
Congratulations Matt on your long winning streak. Best wishes for the future.
He was so fun to watch!! Great Champion!!
Great things are in store for this wonderful young man. Congratulations to Matt Amodio, a truly great champion.
You're one of the best. Matt. We'll see you in the championship!
SO humble, and so friggin' cute!! You were AMAZING!! So enjoyed watching you play!
Was so rooting for Matt. .you were amazing. ...Many blessings to you
I miss seeing him. I have been in awe of his vast knowledge since his first game. I can hardly wait for the TOC. Congratulations Matt.
It is hard for me to understand how some of the contestants have such a vast knowledge of different categories. Sure, people read a lot about different things, but to remember so much.
Congratulations on an excellent run, Matt. It was so much fun watching you play this game each week!
Very kind & humble young man, besides being an extremely bright guy. I followed Matt every night, it was great to watch you,Matt. Cant wait til Tournament of Champions, you'll do fabulous.!!!
We surely enjoyed watching each show with you in it Matt! We’ll miss you! It won’t be the same.
The streak is over and he's defeated but Matt Amodio will be return in the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions.
Matt Amodio is the best on Jeopardy!!!

Thank you Matt for the excellent entertainment you've provided us with
And good luck to you
Congrats to Matt on a great run. You were fun to watch and such a humble champion. Jeopardy needed a streak like this to get the focus back on the game.
Thank you Matt. You are an amazing person, very humble and I looked forward to every evening watching your brilliant mind become a Jeopardy champion. I was sad that your winning came to an end. We are all very proud of you.
Neversee a nice nice guy like this again! Incredible and we will miss him. He is sweet! Likeable, lovable, unforgetful. Love you, Matt A.
Hope to see you in tourney.

I want Matt Amodio to win the Jeopardy 2022 Tournament Of Champions
Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer, and Thom McKee (who was on Tic Tac Dough in 1980) proved that you can have a series of good days, but all you need is that one bad day, and when that happens, it's all over. Nevertheless, Matt did a magnificent job overall. He certainly followed the trends of what Ken and James did during their runs, set some trends of his own, and became a legend along with them. Kudos to you, Matt!
McKee is still #2 overall with consecutive match-up wins on American shows (43). And the guy won 8 cars. No one's touching that (or would probably want to).
Matt could have racked up a lot more money. He bet really low amounts on the double jeopardy clues even though he was far ahead of the other players
I will miss his cute smile and his charming personality. He’s one smart man! Well done, Matt!
Congratulations on your accomplishment, you may have ended your winning streak but you have won a lot of hearts. Like you said ,you can now relax and sleep well; please do that. That’s the first thing that came to mind when Jeopardy ended. Your life will never be the same, only for the good. Good luck to you for all that you do. Claire A .
Great reply. He did win hearts - like mine for example.
We loved Matt from the git-go. Such a wise and humble man and knows how to live life to the fullest. We will miss you, Matt and know you will have a wonderful future anyway you go. Bravo!
Matt you was such a joy to watch. Congratulations on your win.
It was fun to tune in every weeknight to see if the streak would continue. It was great seeing people get angry about "what's" and just how humble Matt continues to be. Curious to see how Jonathan does tomorrow.
Such a classy and humble guy, will miss watching you.
Alex Trebek is rejoicing watching you from Heaven, Matt. You are a remarkable person and Jeopardy champion.
What a good guy! Will miss him so much though!
I even teared up a little when Matt lost. It's been a real pleasure watching him; he will have a place in Jeopardy history. On to even bigger and better things, Matt!
Loved watching Matt and cheered him on the whole time. Awesome job and so fun to watch...great champ!
My hat's off to you Matt, I'm glad you are in Ken, Brad, and James' tiers of Jeopardy, can't wait to see you four go at it very soon.
Ken can't go at it. He is now employed by the show. That disqualifies him from any further competitions.
@@juneberry1982 Yeah, I noticed him in closing credits
but it would still be fun to watch~
@@juneberry1982 I didn’t know that! I think Matt would have enjoyed playing the game with him.
@@Violet3017 I would have loved to see Ken wipe his clock. Amodio does not respect the English language.
Congratulations to Matt Amodio on one of the most incredible runs the show has ever seen. We’re all gonna miss you!
Also, I need to remind everybody here: even though Matt likely doesn’t care if you stop watching because he’s behind the champion’s podium, I’m sure he also doesn’t want you to stop watching just because he’s no longer there. He probably just wants you to watch the show no matter who the contestants are.
Thanks for your unnecessary input. This hunt for a host has certainly taken the fun out of the game.
You’re right, MasterDodge987! We’re going to miss Matt because his personality really added to an already great game show!!
I really enjoyed watching Matt. He always had a smile. It was challenging getting used to the way he responded to the questions at first but eventually I looked forward to watching him every day.
I also want to mention how Mayim Bialec has a great handle on being a moderator. Her voice, her demeanor are perfect. Probably having a great acting background helps as well as her far above the rest of us intellect
All in all it has been fun to watch.
I hope for a great future for Matt thanking him for giving me a wonderful entertainment experience.
Geez.... I was racing home from work and errands every night just to watch him play. I called him Matty and developed quite the crush. LOL So very sorry to see him go. Great run!
I am kinda heartbroken. There aren’t many brilliant, talented people who are such sweethearts. I can’t wait to see him in the tournaments. 💕❤️
Yes, or maybe some guesting on sitcoms! And definitely talk shows!!!
Or on the Chase! I'm still hoping for that!
@@NickTheEnlightened Is the Chase on now? I don’t have TV service so I don’t know which station it would be on. Or what time.
What a classy guy... he's so unassuming, such a gentleman, and ever SO cute :-) I love the way he scrunches his nose. !!
You're right about his nose 👃
Enjoyed Matt's run on Jeopardy immensely! Sweet guy with a lot of intelligence and knowledge. Missing him already. All the best to him!
Congratulations Matt. We have enjoyed every moment of your journey. It has been the best. From your old Medina friends Mary, Wayne and Drew Fox. You are still the great person you always have been
well done matt alex would be proud
A great contestant and a great guy -- well done Matt! And take my word on this, you're going to hear more from him in the future, not just in Jeopardy.
I am so proud of you, fellow Buckeye! You brought me back to Jeopardy after we lost Alex and fumbled around for a host. I would love to see Ken Jennings and you as hosts! You have my vote! 🤙
My husband and I and our special needs son watches Jeopardy every night and have since in came on TV, we Love, Alex. But we love our new host Maylim, probably spelled wrong, but we love her fun, witty sense of humor, how she treats the guest. She is a great addition to the show, I know Alex is proud..
But Matt, I don't know if I was drawn to you because my son's name is Matthew, but we have enjoyed watching you. You are down to earth and not greedy with the amount you bet, you could have won alot more. We are so proud of you and will look forward to seeing you on the Champion 🏆 show, we wish you the best with your winnings. Good luck in life, sorry to see you go..
I’m insanely sad that he lost. I watched his episodes every day and really wanted him to beat Jennings and Holzhauer.
Yes, he was addicting to watch! I missed Jennings…
Sit back and relax, soaking it all in. I'm happy for Matt , that he can finally do that... but I'm sad to see him go.

This one also had a red dress on. Mmmmm
I really really liked Matt and it was so sad to see him leave! I was excited to see the next show... I was disappointed for weekends because he wouldn't be on..... and now he's gone.... you did an amazing job Matt you had lots of fans! Congrats on your 38 wins!
I'm going to miss this Champion so much. Such a great and humble man. I even bought a Jeopardy Coffee Cup during his run and drank my 2nd cup during the game. I'm just going to miss Matt Amodio so much. My husband as well because I would text him as each show progressed. Also texted his final when of the game each day, how much he wagered and then his accumulative amount of money. I'm happy and I'm sad. Love this man so much!
Apparently you don't have a like love of the English language, which he butchered on so many questions he responded to.
One of the very few shows I watch as I love to play along. My wife always asks why or how do you know or how does someone know all this useless information. I just nod and say I don't know I just do or they just do. But it's not just knowing the answers. The ones like Jeopardy James and Matt Amodio really knew how to use the board and were masters at finding and using the daily doubles. This last game showed just how important that was. Congradulations Matt, looking forward to a duel between you and James.
Really enjoyed Matt and wish him blessing in his future! See you in the Tournament of Champions.
Fantastic interview....congratulations Matt .....I watched and enjoyed every show .
Love his demeanor….never missed a show with him . . .Congratulations Matt!
It was such a joy to watch Matt for 38 weeks! I will miss him!
38 weeks?
Will miss you everyday, but I look forward to seeing you in the future, Matt.
CONGRATULATIONS Matt! I was glued to my tv for Jeopardy every night and truly enjoyed watching your exceptional performance. Hope to see you back for the Tournament of Champions.
What a great run
Say it in Matt's style:
"What's a great run?" 😁
He’s a pleasure to listen too. Can’t wait to see him on TOC. 👍🏻👏🏻
I was so rooting for Matt Amodio to get past Ken Jennings' winning streak!! Especially being a Ohio native, i was hoping for him to best the other Jeopardy GOATs. All the best to Matt in his future endeavors and hope to see him soon on a TOC show.
Nothing against Ms Bialik, (who I think is doing a great job), , but as Matt’s winning streak continued, I started to think that he would be a great host of the show. Like Ms Bialik, he has a Phd( or will have shortly) and his breadth of knowledge is quite impressive.
We will miss seeing him every day so much! Can't wait to hear about how his life unfolds from here.
The most important record he will keep forever will be that he played with 6 different hosts! Robin Roberts, Levar Burton, David Faber, Joe Buck, Mike Richards and Mayim Bialik.
And the best potential hosts were Mike Richards, Joe Buck and Buzzy Cohen.
Yes, that was amazing in itself and it didn't seem to phase Matt!!!
@@wayneasiam65 Mayim Bialek is doing just fine.
Congratulations, Matt to games well played. Wishing you success in all your future endeavors.
At first we prob think matt eill be a 10 day champ at max but a 38 streak is just amazing congrats matt!
So long, Matt! Thanks for being the lone source of entertainment for me during this otherwise dark and downright destructive period of the show.
I absolutely agree.
You will be a great CHAMPION FOREVER!!!! So kind and humble!! See you back for the championships!!
Matt is hands down my favorite Jeopardy Champion. His humility, sincerity, intelligence and genuineness, have taken him head and shoulders above the rest. I liked "Jeopardy James" for his unique style, Buzzy for his flamboyance, and others for their own personalities but none had all of the qualities of Matt. I was never a fan of Ken because his ego came through and clouded any likability for me. I only wish Alex Trebek could have met James as they are of the same cloth.
you are right about Ken-egotistical. Matt is much more likable and sincere and he is the best champion ever!
It was such a pleasure to watch you competing on Jeopardy. Very impressed with your knowledge and skill. Going to miss cheering you on. Best wishes with your studies.
I hope Matt gets all the daily doubles.
He just comes across a nice great guy.
They should consider matt as host
I feel that the manner in which Jeopardy producers (or whoever does the picking) was ridiculous. Just look at the Price is Right when Bob Barker retired. All of a sudden one day, Drew Carey was the new host. I am not a fan of Drew Carey, but picking him by the producers was the least stressful to the fans of Price is Right.
I enjoyed watching him play. He didn't have an attitude or anything. ▪️ HOWEVER Something was definitely OFF with him on the last game it was like he wasn't even trying. My husband couldn't believe he didn't get the final jeopardy answer because he (my husband) did. Oh well. Good luck to you Matt.
Yeah, so weird. Even I got final Jeopardy right, and I rarely get them right!!!
@@savannahhumphrey933 same
I think it's rigged.
he looked very tired to me. i think he may have gotten exhaused, polus teh 2 competitors were very firece and much faster on the signaliing device than most other. and he didn't get to answer any DD's
I also had a feeling that Matt wasn't "with it" that day. I was sad near the end of the show. He wasn't having fun. However I'm sure he was probably exhausted. Sometimes they would record 3 shows in one day. I will miss him.
I was shocked he went out like that. I know streaks eventually come to an end tho. I look forward to seeing him on tournament of champions next summer!
It’s not as much fun without him. Especially without Alex Trebeck. He made up for the loss in many ways.
He didn't make anything up. He needs to form his questions in a responsible manner that doesn't make him look like he's ignorant of English grammar.
What an amazing run, congratulations Mr. Matt Amodio!
Matt , James, Alex , the other Matt, Buzzy, Ken, Julie. These are wonderful people. I love these educated people.
I must say, it surprised me that he got the final jeopardy question wrong, not matt-typical. I'm sure it was a bittersweet loss however, no more pressure and a good 1.5 mil to take home, so nothing to be ashamed of!
It surprised me too. When the host announced Matt's answer wrong, I was sure that neither of the other two players would get it right either. Totally blew me away.
@@Amy-qf4ok 😂 even I got that question right!
It seemed very fishy all episode...he might have had a bad day but I think the show wanted him to move on. He looked bemused at several points which wasn't his usual. I really enjoyed his run, and his epic knowledge offset Mayims eagerness to fill in answers she wanted to expand on. I swear she wants to be on the player side showing off. Best wishes to Matt.
