What a joy it is to watch and listen to Matt. He an adorable, unassuming young man. I wish only good things and happiness for him in his future. I never enjoyed Jeopardy as much as when he was on his streak. Ken Jenninigs was dazzling, James Holzhauer was astonishing, but the country fell in love with Matt Amodio.
Matt is by far my most favorite player ever on the game! I just liked his play strategy and his whole demeanor..... I really really miss him playing the game!
@@fable9159 I know, but still would be interesting, I can image it being intense if James, Amy, and Matt could go against each other if they were able to
Loved watching Matt play and cheered him on every night. I was also happy to see that the man who ultimately beat him was no flash in the pan; he went on to his own respectable win streak.
Matt's run had a lot of parallels with Ken Jennings, in that there were a number of situations where he won by the pulling out one key question. Another event he shares with Jennings is that in his loosing game, he blew an easy final question which the other two got correct.. (Although here he would have lost even if he got it correct.) One of those audience moments where everyone watching sits back and thinks/says, "Did he really say that?."
@@masterdoge987 He threw the game from the beginning, not knowing venom, but knowing who spawn is, and being slower on the buzzer than 2 newbies when you've had 38 days of practice.
@@reckermikhailian1200 Come on man, how can you be serious? James threw it, ken threw it, Matt threw it, and Amy threw it. I have heard every single one, and not one of them is even close to true. Absolutely ridiculous. People who don't understand math and jeopardy have NO IDEA how much luck and variance is in a given game of jeopardy. It's SO EASY to lose if things don't go your way in the slightest. The fact that he won 38 is already incredibly improbable, the amount of luck that takes is staggering even from someone as good as Matt.
I like your cat. I have a 20 lb. solid white cat who is my shadow. I really wanted Matt to break all the records. It is rare to find someone who is a great person to do that well. Good luck to him. Watch for scammers!
What a great player. I loved watching all 38 wins. Matt is not a good actor, however, which brings me to my conspiracy theory. When he was supposedly missing buzz ins and missing questions, you could tell the confused and bummed out faces he was trying to make, were phony. That, plus those easy flubs and the fact that he went from being way ahead in every other game, to being in last place, and then betting uncharacteristically low and then missing the final jeopardy question, when it was one of his favorite topics (history/countries) makes me think that his run was going on too long for him, and he wanted to get back to school. I think in order to do that, the studio required him to throw the game.
I agree. I actually think a clue was provided in the "meet'n'greet" portion of his last game, when he detailed minor annoyance at people recognizing him on the street, and being uncomfortable when people would approach him and he could not remember if he knew them from 'real life' or not.
I'm sorry, but they need to limit Jim Cramer's air time. You don't need a stupid investment club that promotes Cramer. Index funds/products are all you need. Very few investors should be 100% invested in equities. A bond allocation is very prudent. Bob Pisani should have interviewed Matt Amodio. A Boglehead will win the vast majority of time over a stock picker, market timer.
I felt the same way. I felt he was ready to quit. Felt exactly the same way with James H. He appeared like he was ready to call it a day. It is hard for me to believe either one of these champs wanted to continue playing and sorry to leave. IMHO They both threw in the towel but will never admit it publicly. I think James might have been pressured by his sweet little daughter to come home. He certainly did not need the money or want fame. I think Matt may have been tired and wanted to return to his work and studies. I really enjoyed both of these players but am inclined to believe they faked their losses. I am enjoying Mayim Bailik as host. Hope she stays on.
I would sit back and wait for the impending housing market crash. Maybe pay off the college debt first. Once you feel like we're deep into the dip in a year or two pay cash for that nice home at a 25% discount due to the crash and 10-15 years from now you could double your home value. No debt, no mortgage, no interest = no brainer! Pay cash for a nice car, go on a nice vacation every single year. Yale PhD what more could you ask for. Too bad he's into big Data stuff though, what a morally corrupt field of study. Why are all the smart one only interested in jobs or creating new industries that will only destroy humanity? There are literally a thousand better things he could be doing with his mind!
Matt is the best! I really miss seeing him on Jeopardy.
See you in ToC.
Yes, a very fine young man. He wiil be back on the Tournament of Champions. Can't wait.
He’s just such a fun person, humble, nerdy, BRILLIANT. We all miss Matt.

Great job, Matt! Will miss you.

really smart kid: dont follow advice from Cramer, do what you originally said: index funds + bonds and keep balancing
😆 I would like insider info too
How much money can Matt expect to have at retirement assuming he invests 1.5 million at age 30?
@@gilliamjf well he's probably going to lose half to some floozy 😂

Assuming a conservative 6% rate of return for 35 year (until he hits 65), his 1.5 million will turn into 12 million dollars.
