Thank you for posting these videos, Dave. I recently (Feb '24) finished the St James Way on foot from Reading to Southampton (and onward to Santiago de Compostela, Spain). Your videos around Mortimer and the Itchen Navigation were super-helpful. St Mary's church at Itchen Stoke is quite the sight!
@@DaveFord Yes that weather was wonderful! A proper winters day! Great you could feel the warmth of the sun too! Really enjoyed that video! Thank You!
Another lovely walk Dave. I could almost smell the polish in the church. We pledge to one another. 🎶🤣 I love these super videos but the Dorset ones are extra special as it's my home county. 😊
A wet underfoot in places but wonderfully sunny walk! I think you mentioned Honey Puddle as one of the alternative names for the village - that gets my vote! Some lovely green lanes as well along the way. Quite a big church for the village. I think Logan definitely prefers Pipers crisps to the dog treats!!
Afternoon Dave and Logan . It looked like a lovely day for a wonderful walk in Dorset. These little villages are so beautiful Dave. It is amazing how they have kept them looking so good. Time changes things I know but I am glad it did not changes them too much. Such pretty homes and churches, and scenery.Thank you Dave and Logan. 👏🏻☀️
Good evening Dave beautiful video absolutely stunning scenery the time that you put in for the research is totally amazing so very enjoyable looking forward to the next one.
Hi Dave. that was really great to watch. Lovely views and compositions ... what a lovely landscape. enjoyable narration as well of course. I'm glad you try to get the sunshine in your videos.
Hello Dave. I must say, Piddle Hinton has some very attractive cottages and the whole area is picturesque. Somewhere around that area is Piddle Trentide, but I've never visited any of them. Very nice video. Good quality and definition.
Lovely walk in a part of Wiltshire I’m not familiar with even though some paternal ancestors farmed in and around there in the 1600 and 1700 hundreds. Thatch cottages might look lovely but they do cost a lot to re thatch.
@@charlesfulcrum3170 yes you are correct. I do genealogy and carry a huge number of ancestors in my head. A large chunk of whom lived right across Wessex. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, Dave. Well researched as always, and lots to interest. It does make me wonder just how much of our history has, even in recent years, been either ploughed over or worse, built on. I'm lookin gforward to visiting the Piddle valley with Jackie later this year.
I think that we were so engrossed in the walk that we forgot about that! Logan did get a bit of "chasing the ball" near the end. "Zoomies" will be back in next week's video!
I'm simply addicted to your channel Dave (& Logan).
As a Northern chap of 62 I still love to learn about Britain. (Jack Hargreaves lives on). Chris
Thank you for your kind comments Chris & indeed thanks for watching.

Well done on completing the St James Way, Chris (I see that the UK section alone from Reading to Southampton is 66 miles?). Thanks for watching.
Another enjoyable video, Thanks Dave
Thank you Jeff. :)
Dave, thank you for yet another wonderful video. The Piddle Valley is beautiful. The combination of filming and historical information is wonderful.
Thank you Charles. :)
Oh that was a grand walk! Beautifulness amongst the'Piddle'......
Lovely watching you two interact on such a beautiful day!...Lovely!!!!
Thank you Susan. We were lucky with the weather that day!

Lovely landscape for walks. And that church was beautiful.

Oh yes, Pipers are his favourite (although he only has a few as they are not really that good for dogs!).

Thank you Cath. :)
Dorset such a lovely county !
It certainly is Geoff ... especially when the sun is out!

Thank you Melissa. It is such a pretty village - you can see why it has won some "Best Kept Village" awards in the past.
@@DaveFord it certainly deserves awards Dave. The countryside of England and it’s villages are beyond beautiful.

Thank you Lionel. Yes, Piddletrenthide is the next village along the B3143 North from Piddlehinton & White Lackington.
These winter walks in Dorset are something special to me, thankyou kindly Dave.
Thank you John.
A lovely walk, Dave! Thanks for sharing it with us and for the interesting history.
Thank you Nic. :)
Amazing countryside for a walking adventure and through the village
Thank you Keith.
Not been in that area for sometime. - Another name for the river Piddle ,is Trent. Maybe from the village of Piddletrenthide.- Thanks for the walk.
Thank you David.
