One of my all time favourite Ballets (Danish Version) Lucky enough to have seen The Royal Danes, The English National, and Scottish Ballet all performances in UK If I had to choose a favourite James and Sylph, in the same production it would have to be Peter Schaufass and Eva Evdolkimova in ENB, Though lucky enough to see Niels Kehlet with the Danes, and Margaret Mc Donald with Scottisn There is a great clip on You Tube of Tamara Rojo and Steven Macrae a gala pas de deux.
This production is really growing on me. Anyone know what year it is from? The ballerina dancing the sylph is so gifted and dances so wonderfully in the opening scene. An inspired and beautiful portrayal.
@@captainb-rabbit8022 I haven't got that far yet but I thought it had an 80s aesthetic about it! They even made the witch wear green face paint - reminds me of Grotbags. 😆
Just the best version I have seen. Love the Royal Danish Ballet!
Beautiful. So clean, so pure.
Thank you!

This is a superb ballet wonderfully performed. it should be stressed that this is the 1836 Copenhagen version.
Thank you for that information. Do you know what year this performance was?
19:00 to 19:13 is my favorite bit.
Lol!
