@unlimitedslash there ya go, I guess it depends on what kind of performance one is happy with. I've got an 11th gen i7 and a liquid cooled 2080 super. It's great for diablo 4 on 1440P ultra
@@andrewjones198 In my main i'm currently using a 3700X at 4.4ghz all cores 1.3V, i can do 4.2 at 1.25v, but since the temp difference is so small i keep it on 4.4, 32GB of ram, and a RX 6700, non XT, more than enough for 1080p and 2k, i'm waiting on the next amd gpu gen, or the one after that to upgrade it, i think i'm gonna change my cpu to a 5950X, and swap my 4x8 sticks to a 2x32 for 64, since ddr4 is so cheap nowdays. The cpu is cooled with a Scythe Fuma 2, damn underrated company, super quiet, and affordable, only 5 to 6 degrees more than a noctua NH-D15 at half it's price. But yeah, my secondary PC is what many consider "ancient" don't think so, since i use on a CRT TV, looks just right to me.
my experience with AMD cards is that they will somtimes act wacky if you put them on a motherboard with any nvidia gpu in the past. Other than that, if you also set the pcie mode to auto it sometimes crashes as well, so there's that
always a good practice to DDU before installing a new card. The reason why it prolly acts wacky is because some drivers conflicts with each other. Had the same issue with Nvidia cards on systems that previously had AMD cards
Worth a try, i tried putting a 240 aio on my 3060ti. Temperature usually around 45-50c on load (200-220w, using liquid metal as thermal paste) and it's still running great. Havent had a chance to put an aio on a 6700xt but i've seen the pcb, cooling the vrm and memory chips would be painful.
update: It worked wonderfully, tried the NCIX DIY cooling method with zipties and some old clamps and my temperatures are as follow: edge 46C maximum in RDR2, hotspot: hovers around 65-70C, memory: 80-85C, the card is ultra quiet now, I am very pleased and I recommend this mod to the ones who are handymen
What about making a custom BIOS with lower latency memory timings? This was commonly done for mining and I always wondered if it would improve game performance...it made HUGE increases in mining performance. The reset CMOS thing...I've never seen that and I've had a bunch of polaris cards. Something's up with your motherboard.
I’ve never had a single issue with any amd video card I’ve ever owned. The 580 i have was a workhorse for years before being replaced by a 6800 which also has never shown a problem. Then again, when i drop in a new cpu or gpu, i jump cmos and reconfig bios as standard… or maybe I’ve just been lucky going back to ati?
Hey dude, I have bought 24x RX 480 Nitro+ at March this year. I have been bios moding them and found 1 golden Example that goes to 1450 MHz at 180W. What do you think of flashing 480s to 580s? From my observations when you flash 480 to 580 It has higher reported power consumption at idle, but higher frequencies seem to be more stable. Btw. I sold almost all non Golden sample gpus with whole computers by now. Its sad that bios moding is not available for newer Nvidia GPUs, that would be fun.
If those socket caps are empty i`m 100% are for a higher model that has those caps but has the supply for them. Who is supplying voltage to the new caps?
problem with the boot its cause gpu its a bit oldie, means you need to set compatibility non uefi csm stuff so it loads propertly sometimes it doesnt show the boot logo but if you wait a bit it loads in to window. when you clear cmos mother went in to safe mode so you card shows again
i repair and solder smd conmponents, rx 580 from gigabyte one of the most commont items i ever repair about 400 or more cuz of miners so i know what im talking about eheh
I have two RX 580s, 8GB. Can anyone give me some basics on what I should have for settings and such to get the most out of my cards and system? Motherboard: X370 Killer SLI Ram: 16 GB 1333 DDR4
How much will u guys put 580 through 😭
I own one and can confidentially say ALOT
It's an incredible old piece of tech
@@andrewjones198 Not that old, i personally still run a GTX 470 in my secondary PC, that shit can run Nier Automata just fine.

What???
DDU first before you install any new card, so it'll wipe the files, registry and drivers of your previous gpu.
@@YaksAttack I'm talking about issues when working with AMD cards. @kuzugalang seems to cover what fixes most of the issues too.

DDU first, or a slow format with command line during a windows reinstall (the most drastic soft approach)
When you first put a video card on a motherboard, if it doesn't work, you need to reset the CMOS, it's normal. You solved it, great 😄
Going to do this to my 6700XT, putting an AIO on is crazy.
that's not ant AIO, it's an open loop watercooling system.
u got the idea anyways

I just bought a RX 480 and it's never gave me an issue but it's just my budget gaming PC so idk now I'm skeptical of it lol
Gigabyte RX 580 have pretty bad PCBs, back when I did GPU repairs they frequently had VRM failures.
Next thing you know he gon' frankenstein 2 gt 210s into one for double
ower.
Maybe it's the pcie 4.0
How did this card go?
i did the same thing to and old WORKING p45 motherboard , after fiting more capacitors , the mobo didnt work anymore, even with caps off
Maybe your bios was set to onboard
do you have an old motherboard sir?

damn now i want to try something similar to my rx480 red devil xd
is first 6 min music in video a satisfactory soundtrack xd? ?

You could never have too many capacitors
i wanna do this on my GT 1030
It won't work, you should try this on GT 710 also add liquid cooling to it and don't forget to use liquid metal.
