I am using a Gary Fong Half Cloud light diffuser in the video. It really works great. I paid around $75 cdn. for it. I have seen a video on youtube about a cheap diffuser made of duck tape and bounce sheets. I think the concept is to use wire hanger to create the shape of the box, then cover it up with duck tape, and finaly put some bounce sheet were the light comes out. Cheap and dirty trick especially messy if the glue melt...
Cool video! I'm currently trying to rig up some kind of macro diffuser for my cheap Amazon bought manual flash that I'll use on my 5d and T2i. Did you just wrap something around the end of yours, or is that something I could buy?
I used an inverted macro ring on a regular entry lens from Canon. The idea is to take your lens and turn it around to take macro shots. The ring will mount were you would normally put a filter and will allow you to mount your lens properly on your camera body. I made a video about it you can find it on my youtube channel A Gentleman Explorer Production. Also cheap to buy on ebay, around $3.

Not sure that this would be "Part 1" of any tutorial series, but I did enjoy what I learned (flipping the lens!)
