Not really Nathan. By the time you pay to get all the things fixed that go wrong with them, you could have got something else more reliable. The server in them is too small and I burnt the one in mine out in just 80 minutes of use. The wiring was around the wrong way when I got it and it was always running in reverse, and when I changed the wires around the way they were supposed to be it now goes in reverse whenever it likes and has even taken off in reverse when I wasn't even touching the controls. I have given up on the one I got and just count it off as a loss. I got it off Amazon so I have no come-back and have only had it for 3 months.
@@chris1k_ No it is limited but it does have a good turning radius. I did burn out the server after 80 minutes so I replaced it with a 15KG full metal server. Sadly I have had nothing but trouble with it since I brought it. It started with it running in reverse and when I switched the wires around the right way it now goes in reverse on its own even when you don't have your finger on the trigger. When it works tho it is great.
Thanks! I've run 4 batteries through it since this video. I went crawling with a couple friends who have the Gen8 axe edition and a SCX10-2. It went everywhere the other two went, and didn't get stuck any more often, but I have much more practice than them. The axe edition Gen8 is wicked.
That looks great!! I just bought the MST CMX with the J4 body. Looks like the same body. Minus the nice roof rack. It has all the other scale stuff. But you have to drill all the holes and install everything yourself. It even has body posts that are gonna come up thru the body. You also have to drill those too. I'm happy about that. Because maybe i can come up with something like that RGT comes with.All that and it's $100 dollars more!! It does come with a 540 motor. 242 wheelbase with 3 other WB settings. If i knew about that RGT i would have bought that instead. Not too happy now.. Thanks for another great review!!
@@10thScaleGarage I'm truly embarrassed to tell you how many i have. Actually haven't even counted because i get anxiety even thinking about it. I know i have about 6 kits i have to build. RTR's never counted. Plus all the other rc stuff..Started when i was 19 now I'm in my 50s and i think i sold about 2 cars.
Looks like first upgrade would be a smoother esc. It looks really toyishly herky-jerky. I do however dig the shorter wheelbase as a possible candidate for a Jeep TJ body (Hello Proline!!!) Great vid. Thanks!

I gpt my son an everest 10 for Christmas and now I need a crawler too lol. Do I get another everest 10 or a scale crawler like this? The everest 10 looks like I will dominate everything. Already upgrading all the gears and case to metal and swapping to a axial brushed motor for more speed.
Maybe this is the best for my needs! Trx4 is just damn expensive, i checked it in bangood and its 3-4 times cheaper than trx4 with batteries and charger. Thanks for the review!
One negative is that the steering angle is very small. It's a big mistake , they could make it steer much more , i don't think this is difficult to do that. Other than that is a cute model and has settings that all the other scale trucks they don't have.
I use to be into these knockoff brands but having a hard time now supporting China companies like Banggood anymore. Can't forget to support more local companies. Even if it means paying a little more. That being said, this truck looks solid. Wish we could have gotten a closer look at the chassis & electronics though. Appreciate the channel. Keep up the good work.

Great review! Have you guys ever tried the RGT 136161? I like 1:16 and am looking at an upgrade from my WPL C24-1. Apparently the RGT comes with oil shocks which I don't know if any other 1:16's have stock. Anyways just got into the hobby and love your videos. Cheers from Canada!
Yes it has angel eyes, high beam and driving lights, turn signals and emergency lights. Plus a pulse and strobe function. You can adjust them to make the lights do damn near whatever you want. I have mine set with the angel eyes and high beam coming on when I go forward and signal lights. With option to turn off on channel 3. I changed it around some but it is much better for night driving with the lights set line that. Looks like high beams with fog lights pretty much.
That depends on how you define “waterproof”. It’s definitely capable of going through water with no issues. That being said, the tires are foam filled, so you want to make sure you either seal them up or limit your exposure to water to avoid water logging the wheels. You could also argue that bearings aren’t waterproof and need serviced after you expose them to water, but if you’re just concerned about destroying the thing by blasting a puddle, don’t be scared. Just give it maximum berries and you’ll be fine.
Total noob to rc anyone want to answer a question? I snagged one of these on Amazon, but it has an issue. When turning, the tires rub on the body, as well as, the running boards. I think maybe the steering could be adjusted, but I’m not sure where to start.
Bummer! You could always turn down the steering dual rate, but is it rubbing because it’s too low? Maybe the ride height on the shocks are set too low?
What do you call "aggressive" tries? I've ordered and currently waiting to get this rig delivered s I wanted to see what kinda upgrades I can do on it. You say the tires but if you can point some examples I'd be really grateful!

There’s ALWAYS room for improvement. The shocks are fully adjustable, and I have the ride height adjustment but set to about 50%. You could upgrade the shocks and improve the articulation, but the axels are pretty narrow. You could run spacers and push the wheels out for some extra flex, but the fenders might need trimmed.
Yes like other stated. 100mm dead nuts, the truck comes out of the box on the lowest shock setting . Theres a lot of room to upgrade tires, I set my shocks on the middle position and put some 115mm under it.

RGT is under HSP but focuses on crawlers and share a lot of trucks with FTX in the UK

I put a cheap 20kg servo in it and now it’s WAYY better.
The steering angle is realy amazing...Its a damn good litle one for the money :-)

Panda hobby is 18 scale and it has oil filled shocks. I only have this and the 24 scale RGT but so far I really like both of them.
