My man's! Awesome work, I'm having loud noise trouble in my 3080 on full speed and I just want to oil it up for a simple fix and you made so much easier! And I don't have to be afraid as much that I would break it. Much appreciated dude 🙏
"When you're spending that much money on the card, you'll have to maintain it" How about the manufacturers actually put the money we spend to good use? This card uses a rifle bearing, as opposed to the slightly more expensive double ball bearing. The ball bearing doesn't need to be maintained. The thermal pads could be higher quality, and semi decent ones really last for a very very long time, and the core paste could instead be a PTM phase change polymer. This would be a unit which will run for 8 years with no maintenance, for barely a couple dollars more cost. OK dust is not something they are responsible for, and you need to keep it away, but like in a decent ATX case, that's hardly that much of an issue.
This, this is the exact reason i returned by zotac card, it was my first expensive gpu, immediate disappointment the moment i unboxed it from the sheer cheapness, and it rattled the moment i put it to use.
liked and subbed, absolutely bothering me for months and they said RMAing it would take 12-14 days and I was like "fuck it" worked like a charm, REDUCED my fan noise levels at MAX SPEEDS. liked, subbed, hugged, kissed, smooched.
Thanks for the tutorial man, I now have to order some new fans because it popped right off, off the fan and didn’t come off the way you proposed after doing the right thing
Thanks for the tutorial. It would have been awesome if you turned your camera 90 degrees left or right so we could see better. I'm so glad you included the red onion in the frame.
Haha sorry! At the time I didnt have any tripod or filming equipment so I had to hold it with one hand and work with the other. Either way, red onions are the best 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥
Also have a zotac card, rtx 3060, rattles out of the box and it's very annoying that it starts making noise around 800 rpm... Just don't bother buying anything zotac in the future I guess
I know this is a long shot but I have an EVGA RTX 2070 with pla09215s12h fans and there's no lube well behind the sticker, any idea if this fan can be popped apart without breaking it like you just did?
My 3090ti just started making lots of rattling/clicking noises too. Not even a year old...won't be buying Zotac again but unfortunately it was the only brand new 3090ti left I could get my hands on. Was it THAT hard for them to put reliable and quiet fans on such an expensive card!? Even if it didn't rattle, the fans are whiney as all hell also once they get up to 50+ fan speed...
@@2sidetales749 Didn't want to break it as well. I guess I'll just live with the froggy/scratching fans until I meet someone who feels confident enough to do this. Tbh I've gotten used to the computer being loud 🥲
didnt fix the issue for me seems to be a shroud rattle on my part, have fitted a new psu just incase but could just be my card dying from heavy usage over 3 years will update if i find a fix!
i'm here because i took an rtx 2060 down to a store to resell for cash, and they rejected it due to one fan clicking (my assumption being dust got between the motor and fanblade) so i've followed your steps, cleaned the outside n inside of the fanblade part, removed old fanblade grease and applied new grease. will update if they accept the gpu or not, otherwise i'll have to go thru ebay.
They take 1000 for the card and give you the nastiest cheapest fans they were able to source.
Unbelievable I know 🥲
This is because they want their clients to buy another card in every 5-6 years

Many good points were made, it sounds like you know a bunch about the manufacturing costs. Do you work in the pc parts market?
@@2sidetales749 Not quite. Formerly worked in system integration a long time ago, more recently computer engineer in automotive and other fields.

HUGGED, KISSED, SMOOCHED???
really glad it worked out for you bro! yeah i wasnt about to try and buy a bunch of replacement fans or try and RMA anything so I just went for it. 🫶

Sorry that happened, tried my best to give a safe tutorial 🥹

Please be careful when doing this as you may damage both your equipment or your card fans if you arent careful!
Thank you, I did it and it worked great.
Glad I was able to help man!

I saw another one of your videos in which you use Singer Machine Oil instead of 3 in 1. Which one works better ?
My ZOTAC TWIN EDGE 3060 has the exact same fans and I also have a issue on one of them
didnt fix the issue for me seems to be a shroud rattle on my part, have fitted a new psu just incase but could just be my card dying from heavy usage over 3 years will update if i find a fix!
wow same fans as my Zotac 970 from 2014.
It has the same card and it makes a sound as if a plane is taking off, which is extremely annoying in games.
How long after you bought the card it started making the rattling noise? mine was after just one year :/
It's the same For twin fan 2060?
