This car brings back so many childhood memories. My Dad had one very similar. I can practically smell the interior just watching this. R.I.P Ken. He was a legend.
Why is field craft survival the only damn channel that wants to touch a Porsche 😭😭thank god for u mike have a blessed day can’t wait to see the next vids
This is awesome, Mike. Beautiful car, the cooling system on the car is ahead of its time. Porsche is always pushing technology. It's why Porsche is ahead of many in motorsports. I myself love rally. It's what got me into the Evo. Which then became my favorite car. So I bought a new 11' Graphite Grey Evo X GSR after coming back from Iraq. It will be interesting to see how you perform against other professional drivers in Rally with all your racing, tactical, and off-road driving training and experience. I wish you the best when racing in Rally Mike.
Mike great video. One thing though, that is the AC condenser on the lid, the oil cooler is in the front under bumper. I have a 1983 SC cab that would look cool Safari’d.
I’m pretty sure the piece on the inside of the deck lid is not an oil cooler but the A/C condenser. I believe the oil cooler is in the front left wheel well.
Cat bypass is a good idea, you don't want to set dry grass on fire. Your car is actually oil cooled fyi. Some German And Dutch 911s back then had MP5 and G3A3 racks in them.
Mike, Never thought I'd hear you're a Porsche guy! AND all that tactical driver training bad-assery? And now you're getting into rally?? All this, I'm impressed, B/C that's all up my alley, man. I'm also wanting to do that with my Porsche,.. LOOKING FORWARD to keeping up with your journey, and hopefully competing in the same events. KUDOS, wish you great success, brother.
love that you are a porsche guy mike. also noticed the Sinn U1 SE on the wrist. got the same timepiece. if you know you know! looking forward to following your progress!
No replacement for seat time, but you can polish a lot with simulator seat time as well. Colin McRae Dirt and Richard Burns Rally are both good simulators for Rally racing with a wheel, shifter and pedal setup. The sponsorship aspect is always rough in racing, but should be easier when you start networking in the scene and winning stages. Good luck!
WOW love this clip (and your channel)! I will just give you one very important safety advice. If you run a bucket seat to fix your body position in the car you must use a roll cage (can be a half cage at the back). If your car flipping around and you end up, up-side-down and compress the cars roof, your body cant bend to the side. That mean that all weight will go on your head, neck and back and you will break it. I hope my English is good enough so It make sence and you understand. Anyway, hope to see you drive this Porsche in upcoming videos.
I've heard Safari 911's are the best 911's - I had a later 997-gen 911S and it was easily one of the best cars I've owned - would kill to have one in Safari spec! Best of luck with your driving career Mike!!
Cool Car! I know many people in the NW Racing Community, and cubic bucks are a must! There are a ton of car control savants all over the NW that are very skilled and quick drivers. They can and have run with the big kids all over the country, for a time, but the one thing that always keeps em small is the lack of long term financial backing! I wish you luck Sir!
As someone who has been racing rally for a long time across the US porsche is a great platform to start on. Ford Fiestas are the go to for me and always have been. I could be a decent help to sourcing answers if you have any!
I notice this 911 is a factory AC car, and well on the Bonnet is the factory location for the AC condenser, not a oil cooler. To improve the performance of this model 911 is a LS swap, go with the full aluminum model for weight reduction
Cheers to the Porsche nerds. You need to get some Fuchs for it. Also you can get fiber panels for them and turn that into any varient you want. Moorespeed in Austin Texas is who you should speak with. Fun project. While in Texas you should find the three sisters route and get some tarmac experience.
Thats A KOOL job man!just wonder where can i buy the front bull bar,it looks simple and do the job perfect!and i also wonder as you use your sc for rally,is there any portection under the body?the reason im askin this is becuase the power chain and weight ratio,200 hp and add on those weight,is it enough for a rally?cheers!
Have a Toyota MR2 spider, I am putting off road tires on it, and I've already put a new exhaust header on it to eliminate the Pre cats that would disintegrate and get sucked into the engine. MR2 are under 1 ton so very light rear engine and easy to drift. Its basically a lotus elise with a Toyota badge, the cornering is insane.
Tossing it out there... Teemu Selanne, the legendary retired NHL player, might be someone to get into contact/partner with regarding your goals. Teemu moonlighted secretly as Rally driver, "Teddy Flash," while playing professional hockey. He used the pseudonym to keep the league/team/insurance in the dark about his hobby. He is definitely passionate about rally, and is still involved in it. He is also a successful, post-hockey business owner (2 popular restaurants in Orange County, CA), and is known widely for his business smarts and charitable work. He awas also in the Finnish military before playing in the NHL. I could see him being interested in what you are doing.
Mike in Rally Racing?!?!?!?! FFFFFFF-YEAHHHH!!!! Now if Mike can get into Subaru's American Rally driving team with Vermont Sportscar...I can die in peace!
Mike is like that big brother I’ve always wanted or wish I had.
He’s the big brother America needs
@@jimziogas8978 totally with you on that!
We need Mike on Joe Rogan’s show already. Soooo much that could be talked about
This would be amazing for sure! Let’s see it happen!
Yes and also an episode with Mike, Andy and Evan on JRE would be awesome
The episode of him on the Jocko podcast was amazing
Yeah I mean shit he’s having Brenden schaub or other lame comedian guys here but not him or Sean Ryan or Mike Ritland?
The jocko podcast was absolute cash money.
There you have it everyone, the real reason Mike made FCS was to help fund his desire to finally become a rally car driver.
we'll let it happen
Is that bad?
This car brings back so many childhood memories. My Dad had one very similar. I can practically smell the interior just watching this.
R.I.P Ken. He was a legend.
Mike is like the SF version of "Initial D". I'm digging it.
EUROBEAT INTENSIFIES
@@ravenks1sr15 oh you know it! 😎
dude , am i the only one who is loving this porsche ?? - the more i watch this guy the more i love him
“What’s not cool is using Austin’s left pocket as my center console.” 😂
"The heater is like the lever on a C-130." Priceless...
Why is field craft survival the only damn channel that wants to touch a Porsche 😭😭thank god for u mike have a blessed day can’t wait to see the next vids
In all my 41 years, I never knew what the two levers were for!!! Awesome dude, cant wait to see the progress
Super pumped for you Mike. Really cool when gun people show their other interests.
Just when I thought Mike couldn't get any cooler, he made himself a Safari Porsche instead of having a garage queen 911.
Mike is glover is the man he is the most interesting and honest guest/man on every podcast

JOE ROGAN BOUND BOY! We whats awesome is your sarcasm, most people wouldn't understand that it's humor!! Love u guy
We can all thank Singer for driving aircooled prices to the the roof
Such a badass rig. Good luck on this endeavor hopefully it works out as much as we all want it to.
Mike great video. One thing though, that is the AC condenser on the lid, the oil cooler is in the front under bumper. I have a 1983 SC cab that would look cool Safari’d.

Thanks Mike, that was the last of the affordable 911 cars. The market is redic for sure. Best video so far.
Just when you think this guy couldn’t get more badass, he decides to become a rally car driver.
Mike, Never thought I'd hear you're a Porsche guy! AND all that tactical driver training bad-assery? And now you're getting into rally?? All this, I'm impressed, B/C that's all up my alley, man.

Respect for the sponsorship request. Ain't nothing wrong with that.
I got $20 if you round up.
That is the meanest looking Targa I have ever seen in my life brother. Congrats!

Mike Glover thanks for all you do & your service 🇺🇸
Love those old Porsches. You have a beauty.
Those ko2’s look good on the Porsche
Mike hit up Ken Block and Brian Scotto at Hoonigan!!! You’ll fit right in.
Love your content and perspective, Mike.
That is the most beautiful thing o have ever seen best of both worlds 😍
Wow, Mike is a Porsche guy...so very cool!
10:00 Main Question 🙋♂️: what is your cassette mix-tape playlist for daily cruising and rally racing?
Mike. This rocks! You should definitely name him Jazz after the Porche 911 transformer. Afterall, that Porche is more than meets the eye 🤖
Hey, finally a video that doesn't mention his past as a Green Beret as means to a clickbait title.
As someone who has been racing rally for a long time across the US porsche is a great platform to start on. Ford Fiestas are the go to for me and always have been. I could be a decent help to sourcing answers if you have any!
DUDE, im so pumped youre getting into rally, i love WRC, ARA would be awesome.
Damn Mike had no idea you were a Porsche guy beyond your previous line of work, this is awesome
Hell heah. Happy for you bro. Enjoy that beautiful car. ❤️
Honestly this is a fun project and looking forward what's coming!
Love the Porsche Mike.
May I ask what jacket is that really dope!
it is good to follow your passions, good luck with yours

Giant X overlanding fan! so excited to see this.

Nice ride. You should see the looks when I take my X5 off road
Man that Porsche is some HOT YOGURT!! really dig it!
Awesome bro. God speed.
I’ll support you as long as black riffle coffee company is NOT involved in anyway whatsoever! Looking forward to this, brother!
This aged well lol
Safari 911s are awesome. Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire also has one.
Wow, looks like Mike lost quite a bit of weight. Looks like everyone getting into fighting shape in preparation for the collapse 😁
Seems desperate to me. The country is on the brink and he looking for sponsors?
Or it was how he talked about losing weight for the last few months for a hunt he had in like September or October
I'm in love with that Porsche.
So excited to see how your career goes
Mike thats a BAD ASS Porsche!!!
Didn't know you are into motorsports, even that porsches, plus one, Mike, plus one 👌
Good luck Mike, I hope you get them sponsors man
Mike's humor is just too good.
Legit...simple platform that has proven the test of time. Good luck with your adventure and keep the rubber side down.
That steering wheel next to your head... Makes you look like a giant 🤠 cool ride
The cars filthy dude. I love it
This is awesome and wholesome
This is a radiator for your A/C. Your oil cooler sits before your cam housing and before the right wheel. (Basically a snake cooler)
That was one heck of a deal! Beautiful car!
best sponsor me video ever dude, hope you can secure the funds you need to excel bro
also the very end of a video is always the perfect time to fart
Cool Targa top. Are you adding chassis reinforcements? Are you doing anything to squeeze more torque/hp out of the flat 6?
You are having way to much fun!
Bill Scott Racing oh the memories!

Racing is a function of how many quarters you put into it.
Dude. That's awesome. I love rally. Nice choice in Vehicles. Look forward to seeing some action man.
Damn this is super dope! Keep documenting the journey!
Absolutely Love 💕✨🤩
Agreed would be a great vibe to have Mike on the JRE 🍻

Was that fart at the end lol, classic!! Awesome Porsche!

Dream/great car brother....love it
Little late for the party. The rear “oil cooler” you pointed out on the deck lid is actually the condenser for the AC.
Love the honesty! COLD HARD CASH! lol
Mike Glover World Rally Champion!!!!
sweet looking car man, good luck in the racing endeavor!
how is the Porsche 911 doing now? an exciting car! Please make more videos of it :)
yea thats cool Mike......but what are your thoughts about building 7?
Keep us updated on this car and the race build Mike, very interested to see this on your channel
hey Mike what jacket are you wearing? That is sick.
Nice wheels brother. Stay safe and be cool all.
Mike, I feel like your flexing. 😂 awesome video brother!
I've been waiting for this. I remember you speaking of the different car platforms you've had. Give us your history of tuning cars.
This is awesome!!! Keep this coming !!!!
Love this dude
Decided to get into track riding this summer on superbikes. This pandemic is making people crazy.
@7:35 - That's not an oil cooler, that's your A/C condenser. The oil cooler is in front of the passenger front tire.
