      @@DirtLifestyle I just watched my first Bleepin Jeep, build a bumper for newer models, I have an 07 WK and theres not too many options out there for em. As Nathan says, you were smart to go to your own channel ( that dude is fair clueless). If I was younger and had some time and money I would start up a small fab shop to build custom parts for Jeeps, age and loot shortage, sucks.There is a guy in Australia building kits, nice, but expensive and too far away. Also, being in Canada, we do not have the access you have in the States. Anyhow, keep up the great productions and better luck with that Dana 44, next time. Don

      Paul Dixon I kno the shop that did that cage, they do fantastic work up here in the PNW. He does hybrids for xjs and zjs, and it’s def not just show. There are through tubes all the way on each pillar to the “frame”.

    • @jamesgoldman6711
      @jamesgoldman6711 4 года назад

      Paul Dixon the cage on my ZJ is 100% functional. It helps when leaned over to protect the roof and also helps in a rollover to protect the people and the jeep. I rolled it in October and the jeep was fine thanks to the hybrid cage. Those guys rod and custom in Bremerton WA built me the cage.

      @paullydca 4 года назад

      @@jamesgoldman6711 THanks for letting me know. I really like the look of it. Less intrusive looking than full exo-cages. So if I understand right, the exo bolts into a internal cage running down the pillars. Seems like something that would be great on my liberty.

    The RCVs have a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. I would definitely swap them out as well. Maybe once you do a postmortem, you can keep spares on hand for whatever you broke. I'd like to see the specifics of the failure.

      www.carid.com/rcv-performance/ultimate-cv-axle-set.html
      It looks like it is impossible to break the outer race though maybe the stub shaft could break. The inner race maybe could break or the inner shaft where it is splined to the inner race.
      My money is on grease contamination causing wear between the races and balls. This lead to uneven force on the inner race ears until one let go. My next guess would be a crack in the inner race originating in one of the splines or maybe the inner shaft where it is splined to the inner race.

      Ken R it’s a 96 5.2 with a rough country long arm using 7” Clayton coils. Front axle is just like Nates a late 70s hp44 but with an OX locker and all Yukon axles, super joints, and hardcore locking hubs. Rear is a ford 8.8 with a yukon super 8.8 kit and a yukon grizzly locker. Front and rear bumper are made by Kurt Davis of kdfabworks.com and the sliders and cage are custom. After that trail run I picked up new shock in hammer town and upgraded to bilstein 5165 and a rubicon front shock adapter. I am running 35/1250/15 MTRs at 12 psi and I am able to concur most trails.

      @@jamesgoldman6711 James, thanks so much... I've got a 98 5.2. I spent most of last summer gathering parts and I'll be getting busy this Spring installing. I have a Dynatrak Pro Rock HP44 with an OX locker sitting in a crate - I'm going to be upgrading it to WJ brakes; a ford 8.8 / Yukon kit / OX locker / Artec truss waiting for the rear and the same Rough Country kit. It's good to hear that you're successful in running 35's. I've read a lot of arguments against it. As for the bumpers, the front as a do it yourself kit that I'll be moding to my liking and for the rear, I came across a set of blueprints online and I'll be trying my hand at fabing it myself. No frame stiffeners? Still using the N249? I'll also be installing a NP242 with a cable shifter and a 6 pinion planatery. It's nice to see someone keeping the old iron alive. Tell Nate to get more action shots of you:)

      Ken R sounds like a really nice build. I have not added frame stiffeners but I did weld the long arm kit to the unibody. I swapped the 249 for a 242 with a sye. If your VIC still works when you do the swap pull the screen out and you will see two sets of connectors. One set of red and one set of black. To make the 242 show the correct things on the screen it’s as easy as unplugging the set of connectors and plugging the other ones together. They are color coded and a male and female so you can’t get it wrong.
