Ken R it’s a 96 5.2 with a rough country long arm using 7” Clayton coils. Front axle is just like Nates a late 70s hp44 but with an OX locker and all Yukon axles, super joints, and hardcore locking hubs. Rear is a ford 8.8 with a yukon super 8.8 kit and a yukon grizzly locker. Front and rear bumper are made by Kurt Davis of kdfabworks.com and the sliders and cage are custom. After that trail run I picked up new shock in hammer town and upgraded to bilstein 5165 and a rubicon front shock adapter. I am running 35/1250/15 MTRs at 12 psi and I am able to concur most trails.
@@jamesgoldman6711 James, thanks so much... I've got a 98 5.2. I spent most of last summer gathering parts and I'll be getting busy this Spring installing. I have a Dynatrak Pro Rock HP44 with an OX locker sitting in a crate - I'm going to be upgrading it to WJ brakes; a ford 8.8 / Yukon kit / OX locker / Artec truss waiting for the rear and the same Rough Country kit. It's good to hear that you're successful in running 35's. I've read a lot of arguments against it. As for the bumpers, the front as a do it yourself kit that I'll be moding to my liking and for the rear, I came across a set of blueprints online and I'll be trying my hand at fabing it myself. No frame stiffeners? Still using the N249? I'll also be installing a NP242 with a cable shifter and a 6 pinion planatery. It's nice to see someone keeping the old iron alive. Tell Nate to get more action shots of you:)
@@jamesgoldman6711 sweet just what I was hoping for. Thanks for the build info. It's good to see it in action. Running a 93 5.2. Working up to your build. Gives me faith
Ken R sounds like a really nice build. I have not added frame stiffeners but I did weld the long arm kit to the unibody. I swapped the 249 for a 242 with a sye. If your VIC still works when you do the swap pull the screen out and you will see two sets of connectors. One set of red and one set of black. To make the 242 show the correct things on the screen it’s as easy as unplugging the set of connectors and plugging the other ones together. They are color coded and a male and female so you can’t get it wrong.

It's harder than it looks man 👍. It takes a few hours of footage to make 15 minutes. Believe it or not this was close to 30+ hours of filming and editing and I'm a one man show!
You know, you didn't even look like you were getting on it that hard when it broke. Kinda looked like the D/S front was the only tire that was really hooking up, and that was too much tire and Jeep for that one axle to haul over the the rocks.
At least being broke you were able to focus on just filming. That's always my problem with wheeling is forgetting to film as much. Still a killer video, a decade on a Dana40 is a good 10 years!
Man I give you props for showing the breakage not long after the Dana 44 vid. Some wouldn't! Honestly I think it was just the Wheelin Gods reminding you anything can happen. I've seen Dana 60s pop in the same situation. It was just that axles time!!

Hey Nate, If at all possible I'd be interested in a walk around of that ZJ. It's exactly what I'm building now and I'm always interested in what others have done. Thanks.
I am not a big fan of rock crawling videos , I like your channel for other reasons. But I have to admit I real enjoyed this one. Great shots of the suspension working , great video work and editing along with some awesome rigs.Thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Thank you! I appreciate it 👍
What steering setup does the Rubber Ducky have?
Stay I'm not sure unfortunately. I'm going to have to answer this question. Standby 👍
Rubberducky_tj on IG most of his build is on there
Greg Mc Full hydro PSC specific to TJ on there. Works awesome! 8.75”x 2.5” ram
Thanks for the replies! Looks significantly nicer than the normal Jeep steering I'm used to looking at
Love the channel brother. I would love to have longer episodes. Few edits would be nice. I think we as viewers would like to see more of the behind the scenes an maybe mistakes. I think that would be more relatable to us doing the same things. But again love it (just wanting more in a episode) thanks brother.
It's harder than it looks man 👍. It takes a few hours of footage to make 15 minutes. Believe it or not this was close to 30+ hours of filming and editing and I'm a one man show!
It is a shame that you broke down, But the Silver Lining is you got some awesome footage of everybody else. Great video Nate!!
Thank you!
great video, good music...thanks
Dope video! We just dropped our king of the hammers video on our channel🤙🏻
You broke your front end , but we won because you were able to perform some great cinematography . Thanks for the video.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That 4th Gen Runner... 35's? Looks like long travel setup, nice.
I think it's on 35s. I really like that build 👍
A bad day on the trail is better than a good day at the office.
You know, you didn't even look like you were getting on it that hard when it broke. Kinda looked like the D/S front was the only tire that was really hooking up, and that was too much tire and Jeep for that one axle to haul over the the rocks.
It was definitely broke from the day before. 👍
@@DirtLifestyle Well, that 'splains it.
I had guys tell me for years that I would snap my 30-35s and guess what they were right.
Rubber Ducky reaction made me die hahahah
At least being broke you were able to focus on just filming. That's always my problem with wheeling is forgetting to film as much. Still a killer video, a decade on a Dana40 is a good 10 years!
That's! I think its held together for a pretty long time 👍
@@DirtLifestyle honestly I would point to that 1000x I wish parts would last 10 years of abuse! 😄
pretty sure i just saw that bad ass jeep heading north this morning just north of eugene!!!
Yes you did! I'm in Portland now 👍
Awesome vid. You going to make one about the moonshiners swapmeet?
Nope but I'll be there 👍
Man I give you props for showing the breakage not long after the Dana 44 vid. Some wouldn't! Honestly I think it was just the Wheelin Gods reminding you anything can happen. I've seen Dana 60s pop in the same situation. It was just that axles time!!
Thanks! I try to be as transparent as possible but I'm prepared for some "I told you so" type of comments lol.
@@DirtLifestyle Honestly shit happens, the shaft was probably already stressed from how many years of pure abuse behind a Diesel and a doubler lol If all it costs to run 40s on a D44 is a Warranty replacement every so many years then I say Send It!!
Guy I know here in Cali runs 42s on his HP 44 and beats on it. Ripped the ball joints out of the Inner C's, Replaced inner C's with Solid ones and hes back to it. I also know guys that destroy shafts in a D60 on 37s lol Just luck and wheelin style is all lol
Good stuff man. Looks like you had a good time regardless of the breakage.. Now.. about that D44 advice...... :P
way to keep on trucking
I love you video v good app to i have a jk jeep to
Always expect the unexpected...
That ZJ is sweet!
