Coming from Germany I spent my holidays in Shoreham-by-Sea every year since 1989. It represents what is England to me. Beautiful place for spending one's holidays without hectic tourism but real life of an English sea town. With beautifully friendly people, old architecture, pubs, excellent connections to London and Portsmouth by train and to other places along the coast by bus: Brighton, Eastbourne etc. The ideal place for beautiful holidays in England. Will always come back there again.
I've just driven past Kings Manor school, this evening, and it's been flattened. I'm still in a state of shock. My old school, gone. So many happy memories of Shoreham and one of the most enduring has disappeared. Although I was born in London and I now live in Worthing, Shoreham always feels like home.
Can't believe planning approved Ropetackle, was an amazing view of Lancing College driving through the high street before that thing, now tons of flats going up. Yep Kings Manor Lower flattened for more houses.
I was very small but I can remember Shoreham then. very evocative. Shoreham high Street looks good without the Ropetackle Centre blocking the view. Innocent times.
I don't remember how it came about but I was invited to Paul's house to watch this film just after he had finished making it. He called it "A river runs through our town" and it was really good!

I remember alot of this fantastic
I originally put 1960's music on this film but RUclips hauled it off for copyright infringement and shoved this horrid shite on instead.
Can't you change it?

So good to watch... got anything from the 1970s? Excellent viewing.
great film! the music doesn't exactly create a 1962 ambience but i guess you can't have everything!
RUclips removed the original track and replaced it with rubbish.
has anyone got any photos or films of the old foot bridge and area?
Seems very much as I remember it. Early sixties.

I'd buy the DVD, but, agree about the music... awful bj
