    You made my day.
    I studied in chelsea college of aeronautical and automobile engineering at shorham Airport, now kn 13:41 own as North brook college between 1975 and 1978 .
    I still remember the walk as some times I use to take train and walk through the chirch through the high street you missed the tudor bridge and the wooden bridge . And I wish you took us to the airport where my college used to be. Shorham Airport is famous for WW11 and are displaying some historic pictures .
    Thanks again for taking me down the memory lane ❤

    I was born and brought up in Shoreham BY Sea, haven't been back for 20 years, but the part of the beach where you walked past the Church of the Good Shepherd (just before you got your cup or tea!) really reminded me of my youth. As you say, the fish and chips are the best, and remind me of walking back from school, taking the train from Worthing and buying 2d worth of scraps and chips in the town. Thank you for the video

      @@humayunkabir9279 One of the mysteries in my life is around the time in the 60's when I worked for a couple of summer holidays from school at the NSU importing facilities on Beach Green (or was it Harbour Way?) helping to de-grease the cars getting them ready to distribute to their sales points around the country. I seem to remember another boy also worked there by the name of Gerard Sayer, who was the same age as me. To this day, I can't make up my mind whether he was the actual Leo Sayer who went on to greater things! I don't suppose that mystery would ever be solved now!

    As an American I chuckle when you casually mention that the church and area are from the eleventh century. We think it’s a big deal to have my mother’s early settlers relatives buried in a cemetery going back to the early 1700s. I do understand time when I visit Westminster abbey.
    Lovely tour including the fish and chips. I would love to see Bath and Cornwall in your videos.
    You could also interview the locals in your videos too. I’m still waiting for you to wear the blue janes bond swim trunks in your video.
    As far as beaches Miami Beach , Aruba’s strip , Malibu , Chicago’s oak street beach and Michigan’s secret beaches with sand are all amazing. We even have the Michigan and Indiana dunes. A beach need sand not pebbles.
    Glad you got out the sea or ocean is always calming.
    Even happier the Nazis didn’t get to invade. Your clips would be in German and I wouldn’t be alive to see them.
    We defeated the tear down of the Columbus statute in Chicago. There are still enough Italians left to stop the nonsense.
    C

    • @TheWonderingEnglishman
      @TheWonderingEnglishman  4 года назад

      I saw videos of those brave Italian's defending Chicago. Those are real Americans! The UK and Europe does have a lot of history hence it saddens me to see the rabble desecrating thousands of Europe's Churches over the last few years. The latest only at the weekend in Nantes France by a man fresh off the boat bitter and twisted by what great men of our past had built. Yes i have to say my weakness is my lack of interviewing with locals in all my videos. I must try harder to capture those moments. However, even the locals in shoreham didn't want to be on camera. And when I was in Cork ireland last week I saw a protest by some lovely ladies who had just been made unemployed by a big retailer in the centre. I asked them if I could interview them to help their cause even they refused. Its amazing how camera shy some people are - or maybe they just aren't Subs to my channel :)

      An illegal fron Rawanda linked to the fire. However, once again they will fail to get enough evidence to charge him or anyone. Notre Dame was also Arson but the authorities will never admit that. freewestmedia.com/2020/07/20/illegal-african-immigrant-questioned-about-nantes-cathedral-arson/

    • @carolinekaplan542
      @carolinekaplan542 4 года назад

      The wondering Englishman I agree Notre Dame was arson too. Apparently the number of fires in churches is suppressed as much as the attacks on South African farmers. I really enjoyed your shoreham trek with the fish and chips. I’m near new buffalo union pier and st jospehs Michigan beaches this summer. I’m planning on staying out of Chicago for at least a year. The courthouses are all using zoom conferences and I think that will continue indefinitely for many cases. I’m miles from the lovely university of Notre Dame campus. It’s nice to be on five acres with a pool and jacuzzi and a garden. There are lavender fields near here too on a thirty acre farm. The Amish country in Indiana is an hour away. Amazon delivers here and Whole Foods. My hometown is now all built up with dining and shops and boutiques.
      Not sure how drew binsky built his subscriptions and vlog. I will have to see your Instagram I’m getting used to that but only so many hours in the day. Hopefully travel will resume by next summer and the virus with be dealt with. The number of business failures here will be staggering along with loss of homes.

    Being a resident for the past, ooh, 40 odd years, I can say,, with absolute certainty 'what a 💩hole'. Used to be, alright I guess, now it's over populated,(without adequate ammenities/services to compensate.. classic case of build as many new properties as possible, but don't increase availability of services). Does make me chuckle the properties being sold with promisess of 'scenic River views'..well, if mud flats for large portions of the day are your thing 🤣🤣. The shopping experience has also morphed over the years.. from being of a wide variety, to being largely of the 'foodie/pretentious ilk'. Except for a handful of core businesses around the town, Shoreham town centre is now, essentially a 'revolving door' as very few, especially 'niche stores' survive more than 3 & a half seconds.
