Very entertaining presentation style. I don't respect much modern art and Pyro is the one career I have avoided like the plague. But this was inspirational enough to make me want to finally learn her. Almost...
Excellent build guide. Almost like mine, (flail, bolt staff).Difference is I run Crit Power 40% (bolt staff, charm), Atk Speed 15% (flail, talent skill, charm), crit chance property on flail, bolt staff, trinket. The bolt staff was made for the pyromancer, the charged bolt does insane damage on crit and is my go to for killing Chaos Warriors. For minion hordes and Elites, hold left click and repeat, the Charge 1 is an AOE and knocks everything on its feet. I just swing like this through a crowd and it takes out the dense back line. To get temp health back, you can spam light attack, left click, plenty of staggering procs. If you are spamming light attacks, will have to watch when to dodge more often. Also, before engaging a melee fight, charge your fire bar to red then go in, you get insane attack speed and crit chance during that fight
For sure, I would like some unique weapon choices also. Either something defensive or something with boosted crit chance. The fact the Crowbill doesn’t have boosted crit chance is criminal
I have a question, do you still get the "above 80% health" crit bonus if you run grimoires? Because if yes, that makes it only an early game talent, since it's useless mid/lategame (where more crit, would matter a lot more?)
Yes it still works. You can keep track of if it’s active or not by seeing if the talent’s “logo” appears in the bottom left corner of your HUD where your active effects are
There's something about people hating on pyro that makes me want to play it more. Though I've been enjoying dagger and fireball staff instead, does get annoying to never have a clear LoS to shoot with.
Mad respect for acknowledging Pyro. She is my favorite class. I'd really recommend deathly disapation though, it's one of her best and unique talents that no other character can do.
Pyro is amazing. Throw the bolt staff on her and the heavy attack, the actual bolt, is stronger then the ult at high over charge. 255+ damage consistently.
I've been running this for years lol. I run atk and crit on Flail, boon on the necklace, and decanter on charm. if you're good enough you can drop all the survivability stuff. Also, if you get books I recommend dropping the curse resistance if you use it. Having a small health bar teaches you how to get hit less. I didn't know curse resistance existed until recently and when I started using it, I got hit more. If you're playing wiz or elf you do so much cc and dmg it won't matter if you have 48 hp.
What do I do about dumbass melee teammates who keep standing in my line of fire towards elites, specials, bosses wacking at them with their noodle weapons? While I'm holding a double charged spear, ready to basically 1shot the thing, if they at least did ONE single side step. Am I forced to keep cancelling my charged snipe, reposition, aim again, or is there a better solution?
Yes there is, jump! Seriously full charged bolts, long bow arrows, javs you should almost always be jumping when you throw them. Just time your jump so you fire at the top of your arc and that will greatly reduce friendly fire from team mates running infront
@@kryptkick441 Ah thats a good tip indeed. Im always in the backline, keeping an eye for anything to snipe, so i love short bardin, i can snipe right over his head, saltz on the other hand. Because we aren't conformist pansies! Also chaos wastes can be an option, although some of the best crit boon synergies were taken away or transferred to weapon traits with the last update.
Flail is more than enough to handle horde minions but pyromancer does more than close combat. With flail/bolt staff, you do minions, bosses, elites, chaos warriors. It does way more roles than crowd control. The trade off being that it is glassy, but that's where Bonded Flame comes in with light attack flail to stay on top of temp health. Cooldown on Ukt is only 1 min, so you get boost every minute
cause it's boring thats why. that exact combo might be the most broken thing in the game but it's also the most boring. i roll my eyes every time i play with a bw sienna.
I havent really played cata, and stuck with legendary, but people really gloss passed fleetflame. with one with the flame and fleetflame you cancel out most of the downside of 80% OC. Fleetflame requires you to be very precise with your overcharge, but in the situations you have to hit crit OC, the amount of time you spend in it are rarely signifigant and the amount of temp HP you gain mean doing one tick of exhaust to get back into prime OC is negligable. and with 15% movement speed, I find I rarely have to dodge in hordes. my build is 1,3,3,3,3,2 dagger is my melee weapon of choice with 5% attack speed and +2 stamina with opportunist as my trait. With it only costing one stam to push (which generates temp health) you can glide around hordes pushing and slashing with very little need to block or dodge in many cases due to the ai just being unable to keep up with your movement speed. my staff is actually beam staff. with refund on crit is makes me less likely to hit that unvfavorable level of overcharge when i need to horde clear more. Its also a good substitute for dodging because if you realize you might get surounded, you can pull it out and push forward. Also did i meantion fleetflame procs on ranged attacks? take stam recovery on your charm and you are set.
Fleetflame is good for sure but as you stated you need to acutely monitor it which can get hard when things get crazy. I wish she had a way of dissipating her overcharge more effectively. I now a lot of very skilled players who run her on cata but tbh it's always just a flex
Think your cat snipped up my ears along with your audio at 3:23. Might want to have a gander at that before PETA comes after you for the rampant annoyance and discomfort in left ears caused by the video. Cheers and hope you're still keeping up with the pants!
honestly as someone who loves both pyromancer and huntsman, i think huntsman is in a far worse spot. the one-trick pony to out-one-trick the other ponies, going anything but long-bow is taking an aluminium bat to the knees of an already handicapped class. Nothing interesting about him as a career, the only thing going for him being he gets reliable damage reduction due to his role as an elite killer synergizing very well. He is only stand out due to the longbow. Though id argue thats more praising the weapon than the class. Huntsman is what you get when you take everything interesting and utility based out of pyromancer and ranger vet, smash whats left together and just make him viable because of one, maybe two, good pick weapons.
The other thing Hunstrman has is great defensive weapons in the shield and spear and the spear that also have very high finesse multipliers. As he has headshot bonuses and high crit chance they allow for huge dps while also providing that safety net for his true damage output in the form of ranged. This is what I would like to see on Pyro. Everyone in their criticism of Pyro focuses on her traits, however I would like to see balance in the form of some new weapons that synergize well with her. Hopefully that's what we will get with Sienna's 4th career
I loathe the Level 15 talents. Like, how to even evaluate what is better in what situation or gear? I guess it is possible running testss? But that's not really how it should work. Like "I got 10% damage with that talent vs. the other on the same map on a different try". That's not reliable at all. Modded static situation tests? Garbage too, seems like to me. Atleast for the bottom 99% of players.
I guess the easiest way to evaluate which is going to suit you better is to understand they effectively work as a base damage multiplier which increases for each consecutive hit against a single target. So for Pyro we have Smiter which the multiplier is first hit 1.2x second hit 1.2x third hit 1.4x. So if you hit an enemy 3 times total bonus damage is 80% of base. Mainstay is first hit 0, second hit 1.4x, third hit 1.6x and total after 3 consecutive hits 100% bonus damage. Enhanced Power increases base damafe by 7.5% then the multiplier is is fist 0, second 1.2x third 1.4x. So we see that as most enemies in the game die in 1-2 hits Smiter will do the most damage overrall with most weapons. Mainstay will generally only perform better when you have a talent that causes stagger so you start the attack chain at 1.4x or the particular weapon uses lots of push attacks or bashes to again start the attack chain at 1.4x.
@@kryptkick441 Ye so it looks like the EP, the one with smallest number and shortest description causes the most damage in most situations. And then the "Mainstay", the one with biggest numbers and complex description? The least damage and viable with a very rare build. etc..., right? Not a good goup of talents.
@@Tenebrousable the general rule is Enhanced Power for Ranged focused and for melee focus it's Assasin > Smiter > Mainstay > Bulwark. However that is a general rule of thumb
