I actually have found u can achieve an eprom bass by simply taking a dirty distorted 808 stretching it using the warp mode and messing with the grain size in texture mode you can achieve some super thick eprom basses
i keep revisiting this video several months later and honestly, its one of my favorite production videos, as well as a solid reminder that GARDN knows what he's talking about
thats awesome!!! is there any chance i could get a copy of those notes? i saw a post on reddit asking about his sound design and the man himself answered. he is way cool and underrated in my opinion.
maybe make a tutorial on building an ableton rack with a bunch of macros that you could assign to a midi keyboard CC knobs. Seems like that could be an analog-less solution.
Very nice man. Like you mentioned, for some reason, EPROM isn't the most popular although he's popularity has shot up recently and there isn't a lot out there. All producers really have on him is he destroys simple wave forms lol. Love this tutorial. If you could do something like this on G Jones I know tons of people would love it!
I can get that effect without a actual synthesizer just use a saturator on Sinoidfold mess with the drive and base then ad a auto filter and automate the frequency and rate with hrtz turned off..
the "genre" is 1/2 time jungle...slow a 160 tek track down to 80ish bada boom bada bing, but also w/ super dope above avg synth & fx work...sounds like the formation of a worm hole from the ship "Event Horizon"
You can easily do this shit in several virtual synths. The Legend VST or Native Instruments Monark for instance do an amazing job in sounding analog. Don't buy expensive analog hardware if you don't have to. But DO find out what are good substitutes for analog hardware.
please just go to 10:38 before watching the video, it's all you need.
oh my god I totally forgot about this part, thank you! hahaha
GARDNSOUND it's lit fam :D
thank you LOL
this was worth it lmao

Grain size is key. Have you seen Mr. Bill's tutorial on Granular synthesis? It's dope.
@@GARDNSOUND yes Mr Bill has some really helpful material and I really dig his tunes
Miss these so much
It's called space bass or free form bass my dude
You are awesome. Please keep making these videos. Probably one of the most entertaining and informative channels I've found.
Whats holding up you mixer? I need a stand like that!

how do you record what you're doing when you're messing with the knob? it seems to always play back pre fx
Send midi to the synth - then record the audio output and only mess with the knob.

For such a beautiful and well maintained studio, I'm surprised your shit isn't better sound treated. I appreciate the video, dude!
it has improved since this video - for sure. i've added another huge rug - and some more panels.
Nice gimmick with the sunglasses and the reflection of your screen. I love it.
yeah ok you got a subscriber, now im gonna watch your entire channel because fuck yes thats a lot of knownledge
arturia microbrute or minibrute also. gesaffelstein uses it
Dude I love gesaffelstein. Shame he's not touring anymore. Thanks for the tip!!
someday he'll come back im sure, pretty sure hes workin on a new album
what synth is he using?
Prophet 08
But, you could easily achieve this with any analog oscillator and filter. Behringer Model D is my current favorite sell ;)
Could you do a style guide on the artist Danger

I loved Monark a lot, which is why I bought a Behringer Model D. Have you ever heard of that one? It's an affordable analog monosynth.
good stuff man
Liked for the Rtype reference. haha
I have legit Hammond organs boiiiiiiii
yooo sunglasses, inside, at night.
Wheres the actual sound design for the bass sorry?
I didn't include any in depth sound design in this episode, my bad :(
Yeah exactly ^^
Smfh
ooh hello bonjour
o hai
way too fast for eprom. 160 to 174
two minutes of promos up front? Really? Sorry man but time is valuable and I dont have much. adios.
Right on. We don't have room for assholes in here.
