If someone told me that track was Nectar, and I honestly didn't know any better, I'd probably believe them. There are a few missing elements in terms of maturity and design, but this is one day's work and that is god damn impressive.
Man, your content has really matured over the past year, hasn't it. This was one of the best recomposed episodes yet! Keep up the good work Gardner, appreciate ya
@@BaronUnderbite As a fellow fan of his art it was horrible to see his decline, from attacking religion, stealing music and now the evidence that he solicited, manipulated and groomed young women... @@Kriptickhaos ill check it out, but having Nectar be your intro to bass music is cringe. His music only got good when ghost producers started making it. His early music sounds like ass. First off, your fluency with Ableton is nuts and making this seemed too easy for you. That being said, I'd say it's only a faithful rendition of Bassnectar's more basic tracks. Also, one classic element that you missed is signature trippy vocal chopping/fading - that should have gone into your emulation!
I was listening to the full track at the end and my girlfriend yelled "Is that Bassnectar?!" from across the house hahaha. So yeah, I'd say you nailed it.
This is incredible for real 🔥I just wish it was on Spotify cause I’m tempted to get RUclips red just to jam this.. this would possibly be one of my favorite bassnectar songs if you said he made it. You’re gonna go far in music this is crazy🔥
That track was on point. Thanks for putting up all this amazing content btw - not many youtubers are able to break things down and get a point across the way you do!
I really appreciate what you did on this video and you did it right and yes us fans can be crazy about nectar but you did this track justice with also making it your own keep doing you I am now a follower ❤️
Hey bud I really appreciate your music and all the videos. I have learned so much from them thank you 🙏. I would also like to say that your MR Bill podcast was awesome! I’m a tradesman myself so it was nice to hear someone else who loves to make music and also works hard sometimes I have no time to do music because I’m beat after work. Now when I’m tired I try to tell myself “gardener does it so you can to” hope all is well.
Dude!!!! Fellow producer! That was sick! Would you believe me if I told you I understood everything you did in the time lapse LOL Great work man! Subscribed and liked! Did you do a xilent tut yet?! That’s my buddy right there and soooo good 😄👌🙌🕉
Tipper is such a God when it comes to mix downs. I couldn't even come close. Maybe I'm idolizing him, but my friends who know his techniques much better won't even make a how to on his music. I'd feel dirty trying... BUT, thank you for the words of affirmation and the compliment ;-)
Prefacing this by say I don't think this track is bad! Just sounds like Minnesota honestly. If you played this and told me it's Minnesota I would believe you 100%
I want to start off by saying that the song you made is great! You seem to understand the mechanical side of making music very well. Bravo for that. Although, I will agree with some comments stating that this sounds way more like Minnesota. :) The second thing I will say is that claiming that an artist of Lorin’s caliber strictly follows a set way of making his music the majority of the time, and that anyone can do what he does, is a little misleading. I’m not saying that he’s the greatest artist to ever live, but the man has been making music for literally decades and was personally schooled and taught various forms of music production by ill.gates who a ton of people revere as a flippin wizard in terms of production (I.ll has also been making and studying music FOR EVER). Lorin also has a serious passion behind what he makes and puts out and that can, and will bleed into what you produce, most of the time in a bigger and better way than someone who understands how to physically “make music”. There are so many songs that don’t remotely follow the four step phase you discuss, or even come close. I think it’s pretty simple to pick a few songs from someone who has a multitude of albums and state that they follow a set routine of how they’re produced due to a few that may follow a similar routine or sound design. My third point is this: Lorin is the only Lorin. Just like you are the only version of you. Every small detail, event in your life, thought, feelings, emotion, etc., is what makes you, YOU. No one will ever be able to create a work of art that can duplicate what you do simply because they are not who you are. People may try and replicate it, but I believe there is so much emotion along with so many other things that go into the creation of music (if you have a true passion for it) that no other person can make what you yourself create. I’m speaking in terms of ACTUAL artists... not your every day auto-tune, radio “music” that anyone with money can buy. I fully appreciate the reason behind why you made this. If people want to learn and attempt to understand how to try and make music that sounds like Bassnectar, I’m all for it cus the man makes some of the best music to bless our ears. I find it amazing that an artist can basically define and create their own sound/genre and that people wish to follow that. But like I said, he’s his own mind, and I don’t believe anyone else can create what he can due to the simple fact that they are not him. He has a beautifully creative and unique mind, as does every single person. I think it’s super discrediting to label someone’s entire life’s work and metamorphosis of who they are today as a “secret formula”. What Bassnectar means and is, is also so much more than just music. But that’s a whole nother’ topic! :) I hope you find happiness in your journey through music because honestly, you have a great ear for it. Love and light to you! 💜 *Edited due to a typo!
Let me know if you are seriously considering it because we might have an extra ticket or two! You deserve to treat yo self. You have been working so hard, I feel like you may need to stomp the yard at a nectar show.
Bro that was lovely. Perhaps it'd be useful to not sweep past the final product that you put together during the montage of the making of the track video. But maybe some music bits and pieces during the montage could lead up to playing it at the end of the vid, and then play the song on its own at the end, where it has it's own visual so u can focus and cruise with the music. That track was phat, I've enjoying flowing with it in the meantime. Lovin it. Thx again.
Hey thank you for watching! I do that in my more recent builds of this series, for sure. At this point I was releasing the entire track as a separate vid because I thought it would drive more views (D'oh!)
A little agressive on the white noise sweeps, but you did a fantastic job. Especially after the drop, I'm surprised with how well you captured the essence of bassnectar's sound.
Can u do another video ,i mean how to make the best arp in the world(i have basic music theory knowledge but i struggle a lot) and how to incorporate big horns in trap music (like EDM trap not atl)like pow pow pow😂

You should check more Serum folder, I think there has to be midi folder and combining with presets, you should like it.
