completely. watching it live made my blood boil, cause jamal aint missing those 2s and lakers kept using drop coverage on him. should have hedged the screen.
Drop coverage's biggest weakness is a pick & pop big man. If you are going to run drop against pick & pop big, most defenses will stunt at the pop with the closest perimeter defender, which could put you in further rotation and lead to more problems. Personally, I don't think the pick & pop is as dangerous as people think, especially against a hard closeout. If they hit 3-4 then it may be time to adjust your coverage.
You may adjust with a late switch coverage (you start with the drop and then the ball handler defender close out to the pick&pop big man). But it is vulnerable to mismatches as you could see in the 2023 finals series. Although the late switch might have been the best coverage the Miami Heat could throw to the Nuggets.
This is the reason why the NBA sucks. This isn’t fucking defense, this is being lazy. Literally opens up the roller, opens up the drive, or opens up a open pass three
@@michaelhaydenbell there’s always someone out there like you who’s looking to police Grammer on youtube. Who cares. Defense has sucked all year long and you are being ignorant. The playoffs is “literally” the only time it turns up.

Awful Coaching fans where y'all at?
Awful coaching anyone?😂
this is why the Lakers are getting ripped to shreds. Jamal Murray isnt missing these mid range shots.

Cool video short and concise 👍
Drop coverage leaves open the roll man.
That’s where the tag man comes over to discourage passes to the roll man.
How would you guard a pick and pop

I'm here because of awful coaching, literally and figuratively
It's one reason why basketball is very popular. In fact, the sport is more popular in the world than American football.
Are you a bot?

Oh the NBA sucks? I can tell you really know what you're talking about by the way you don't even know what the word "literally" means.

Drop coverage is trash and only lazy trash coaches and teams run it.
