- So this is a video about a fictional tiger in a video game boss fight.
No I don't have anything better to do. I hate snowflake the tiger and I don't want to see her ever again.
Also it seemed like there was an issue with the time of when I tamed the tiger and that's what caused the game to freeze.

The most consistent way that I have found is to leave is to always know where Snowflake is and to leave the steak between you and her, but to make sure you put some distance between yourself and the steak. If she runs directly to you, she'll eventually trigger her animation of eating the steak. I'd say the biggest pain is keep the zombies away from her while she eats it. One hit interrupts it so I'd try to find a handgun or the LMG in the room to help keep zombies away from her.
Yeah one of my biggest problems I had on my latest attempt was even when I got snowflake to eat the steaks the zombies interrupted her animation, didn't have any guns to crowd control either

Snowflake was such a pain to deal with, especially you try your best to not let the zombies interfere or get anywhere close to you or the damn tiger.
Yup! Had that exact problem while playing, waiting to throw a steak

This is a lot easier when you put your weapon away as her Ai is programmed to see it as a threat
It never even occurred to me the AI in the game registered when you're holding a weapon, I'll have to try that whenever I replay the game
@@SackyIRE her Ai is still picky but she’s less likely to chase you when you’re not holding anything in your hand. Inventory doesn’t count
My most frustrating moment in the game is trying to catch the underground train on the motorcycle. The physics are so wonky.
Oh that section does suck in fairness, at least it's brief with a save point just before it
What i hate in this game is we never found out what happened with Snowflake.
True, all the survivors just kind of disappear from the game. I guess we’re supposed to assume they made it out alive somehow.

She was likely left behind or put down by the rescue team. There's no way the military would let a 380 lbs apex predator aboard.
@The_Devils_reject that's not likely, if word got out Snowflake actually survived, they would've called animal protection. Sent in helicopters, put her to sleep and transported her to the wild. I have a feeling they tested for the infection first before giving the OK.

I lifelong friend of mine, is a dead, rising completion. List he manages to make everything look easy, and he did the same with the making snowflake tame. We nearly got all 50 survivors, and every achievement in one single run it was absurd. He’s a master. .
It's a helluva game to be a completionist on! I think there's a lot of tricks to the game that I wouldn't think of, fair play to your friend for being able to do that!

I remember getting so pissed the first time I tried taming her back on the Xbox 360. Never had her freeze like that on me though. However, the game does like to crash at what seems like every hour or so while playing on my PS4.
Based on my googling apparently if you save during the fight it causing the freezing that happened me? Was really annoying. I think I had maybe 2 crashes but I was playing on PS5 so maybe that helped. Still had fun with the game aside from snowflake!
I just started Dead Rising 2: Off The Record and I’m having the same problem. Not the freezing thing, it’s the tiger won’t eat the meat thing.
Y'know what's funny is I played off the record right after Dead Rising 2 and had zero issues taming snowflake, really weird!
They made it easier in Off the record after hearing complaints from the base game

after watching: "Oh it's the tiger. Meh you can give it to Katie so it's worth it."
All you had to do is eat the damn steak!
Such a simple task and Snowflake won't do it! 😤
I kind of wished that snowflake appeared in dr4 as some mutant experiment of the zombie parasite.
I had the best luck using the corner of the casino. There are basically two avenues of approach that way. And I lay a steak in between me and both paths. Also makes it easier to combat the zombies as they approach as well. When Snowflake runs at you, she will almost always notice the steak and trigger the animation for her feeding. Not 100% and it does feel more luck based than skill based, I won't lie here. But that's how I combated this particular controller-snapping and potentially very frustrating issue.

The problem with Snowflake is that her rng goes super wild when there a bunch zombies near her. Also throwing the steak at her or having zombies attack just her pissed her off. However move away from Chuck when he is near a wall. Sometime being on top something might work. But AI can be highly random. Sometimes you pick up the steak and replace down. Then jump near the wall reset her AI on trying attack you, trying to attack the nearby zombies or eating the steak. My best suggestion is locking her the bath room hallway with door. Killed Ted because he going be shooting at you. Killed zombies near the starting place you guys start fighting. Laid down steak or 2 but have one or 2 extra. Open door and let her out and then you maneuver around her. She might get frustated and try run away. Jump near wall to reset her Ai then place steak open area. Rinse and repeat until she start eating the steak until she tame. As for the freezing part it happens remaster verison deadrising 2. This happened to me a few times on the ps4. But xbox 360 it didn't happened to me as much.

A easy way to tame her is just leave and come back a case later she will get all her health back and the game thinks you have fed her steaks and you will automatically tame her (not sure if this works in og deadrising 2 but it works in off the record)
I didn't know there was any kind of easy method to do it, oddly enough I tried to tame snowflake in off the record and did it without issues, maybe there is a difference in the two games
I thought you were going to talk about the timers on every single mission of the game, because that's the biggest drawback Dead Rising games have, we can't play at our own pace, we're forced to rush things.
The time limit is a bit frustrating at times but I actually enjoyed it on my latest playthrough, it made me streamline the activities I did in the game

The strat is actually to set the steak down when she is nearby, not throwing it. Throwing it is suboptimal and can hurt her. As for the game crashing, that's because you are playing the Remaster on PS4. The remaster is actually horribly buggy. Play it on PC, PS3, or 360 for a less buggy experience with little to no crashes.
Really? I tried dropping the steak a few times and it didn't work, maybe that's bugged in PS4 as well. This fight aside I didn't encounter too many bugs on this version though
@@SackyIRE It's still pretty tough. It is not easy by any means. If you drop the steak, stand a decent way away from it (but it's between you and Snowflake), she will go for it generally. But it still is tough and sometimes she will ignore it.
Maybe I wasn't patient enough in trying that method then 😅

Snowflake was always easy in my opinion. That’s my opinion though don’t bite my head off 😂 just casually place the steak down gently instead of throwing it at the tiger when it’s running towards you and don’t turn your back either coz tigers will try attacking from behind.
Won't bite your head off at all, just jealous that you find taming Snowflake a lot easier than I do 😅

It's still a fun game, my complaints here aside I really enjoyed revisiting the game!
It would be better if her grab wasnt the worst one to escape from. Antoine for instance has grab that he can only do when he knocks you down and it takes max 2 blocks of health. Meanwhile Snowflake can do it both when pouncing and charging at you and if she catches you she can do 3 blocks of health, considering its her main attack she does it constantly.
Plus considering how fast she moves it really makes it difficult trying to tame her

I think I came across a very specific bug in this instance but still found it very frustrating at the time

It's not too hard if you do it like a normal boss fight, but the extra task of taming the tiger sucks 😅
Maybe this an off the record 360 version thing, but I had no problem taming Snowflake.
What's funny is I started off the record after playing dead rising 2 and I managed to tame snowflake with no problem! Didn't feel like I had any of the issues I faced in Dead Rising 2

No, I managed to do it the normal way in Off the record, didn't need to cheese it at all

Yup! No issues at all in off the record, maybe I timed the boss fight wrong and the zombie spawns were a little weird in DR2 but it felt like a huge difference

Don't throw the steak to the tiger, just lay it at your feet, on the path the tiger will take. It's a bit more practical.
I've tried this before, I can never seem to get this method right, gonna have to remember to try it in future

I reckon I must have hit some weird scenario timing wise and that's what caused it
Not bragging or saying it's a skill thing, because I think Snowflake is pure RNG.
I personally have had no issues with her at all, I throw the steaks all together on the floor and just wait a decent distance away and it always works. Sometimes she would ignore and I'd just move the steaks slightly, or the occasional zombie would mess things up, but I don't think I've messed up this fight since I first played the game years ago.
But I completely understand that this is one of the more frustrating parts of dr2
Yeah I wouldn't say I'm especially skilled but it felt very frustrating, what's really odd is I jumped into DR2: Off the Record and managed to tame snowflake first try. Aside from Snowflake's RNG though I do really love the game

Aside from Snowflake I had a great time replaying DR2, it's a lot of fun!
So not racing to give Katey zombrex every so often and getting grabbed all the time and the timer isn't long enough when you have other missions, including story ones isn't annoying?
I mean, yeah at times, but I actually kinda enjoyed it this time around, it made me budget my time to save survivors and gather resources. It's not perfect by any means but it didn't get to me this time as much as it did when I first play the game on release
I really dislike the speed at the beginning of the game, like, yeah, the point of it is to make you want to level up to upgrade the skills and then enjoy the game even more, but the speed is too slow. It's not that is a big deal to run away from zombies with this speed, it's just time consuming, boring and frustrating if you lose and have to re-do a route.
I'm not saying they shouldn't have made the player slow at first, but at least don't make him seem like he's in slowmotion.
Very true! There's a huge difference in speed between the start and end of the game, they do give you a few survivors at the start near the safehouse that does boost your speed to level 2 but it does feel very slow at first
Fun fact: if you take two weapons that can combine and combine them you earn the combo card.
For example very early on when you first get the maintenance key you get the spiked bat card, but if you take a fire axe out of the safe room and grab the sledge hammer just past the maintenance room n go combine em you'll get that combo card long before you unlocked it leveling up
There's 2 levels to the combo card though, if you unlock the combo card from levelling up I think that version then gives 2xPP
really? I play the remastered one a lot i’ve never had an issue getting snowflake I always go get snowflake immediately when we need to get the first zombrex for katey at the pharmacy because it’s the perfect time length to get her without rushing to get any other survivors or story missions
Does snowflake unlock that early? I always thought the fight was at least a day into the game
I tried replaying it on the PC. It was terrible.
I can remember if it was Dead Rising 2 or off the record but I remember playing on PC and it was awful to even get the games set up, I think the game lost my saves too
