- Here is a bunch of things I did to my Cupra to help me see a lot better at night. One main thing being, changing my 13 year old Xenon bulbs for some Brand new Osram Nightbreaker Bulbs (D1S's)

Great content as always matey, keep up the great work.
I am having the same issues as you, night time visibility is so poor now on the original bulbs... I haven't changed mine out since new and mine is a 2011 LCR. When you drive newer vehicles you really notice the difference.
I've been looking at headlight restoration, sand/polish/UV clearcoat the lenses (DIY process etc) as a new headlight from SEAT dealership is near £500. Parts are starting to creep up on the 1P.
I'll try the headlamp bulb upgrade with new D1S's.
The headlight restoration is a good shout 👍🏻 if u do try it, let me know how u get on. I think mine is more on the inside of the lens, so I'd have to separate it from the body somehow. And yeah the new headlights are so expensive. I've seen OE valeo units from autodoc sometimes on offer for £340 each, but they're are at £410 just now 🙁 New cars with the standard LED headlights are a "night and day" difference 😅🙈

I am very happy with the Valeo wipers on mine! For bulbs havent changed yet, mine is a non-xenon pre-facelift Leon 1P. Will give it a go to polish and protect the windscreen.
Yeah I've alternated between valeo and Bosch over the years and noticed no difference, and valeo seem more reasonable for price 😁
The glass sealant from glaco is brilliant, so handy day or nite in heavy rain, and the water just flies up the windscreen, so u can still see.

Think i may need to change my xenons as mine are 16yrs old, still appear ok though, i also have the specks on the inside of the glass. Great vid.
Cheers Rob, and yeah I didn't think I'd notice the difference at night after changing them over, but definitely an improvement over the old ones 👍🏻
And yeah, the speckled headlights are a nuisance, I'm always noticing them 🙈
I’m shocked that you replaced the bulbs like they were just regular bulbs 😭 on my 2012 S3 it’s a bumper off and headlight out job 😂😂

Yeah reasonably straightforward on the Leon, that sounds a nightmare for your S3 though 🙈

looking good! I would love to do something like that to my windshield, here in canary islands when it rains it pours a lot of dirt into the cars and you can't see anything because it sticks a lot to the glass! btw, do you know by any chance the size of the rear wiper?
Hey Nicolas, great to hear from a viewer from the canary islands! Lovely part of the world. I was actually in Fuertaventura last November on holiday, was a brilliant week away.
Anyway, from a bit of digging, it seems the length of the rear wiper blade should be 280mm or 11 inches. I couldn't measure my one as I deleted it a few years ago 😅🙈

Good friend, one issue is that I have LED rear lights that all work and after a few seconds, just one on the passenger side turns off. Can you help me. And a Seat 1p 2.0 170 hp from 2009
It sounds like you might need 1 new light, it could be a faulty unit and may be overheating. That's all I can think of as I have an LED bub in my boot that stops working after a few minutes if I leave the boot open too long.
I just installed front parking lights in LED. They stay on for about 5 secounds and then turn off. I dont think I need a ”relay”? Typically you need a relay when you put LED blinkers instead of halogen, but I didnt? Is it a bad ground with the front parking light?
If they stay on for 5 seconds consistently then turn off I'd say that's the cars electronic system taking control of that.
@@NorthCoastWorkshop Yeah I got it figured. It was the canbus-system not liking my non canbus led.
