i love your video i been moving for a while and found your vid going to start my labor only moving business because of me being broke good content you have all the right methods love it
Thanks for the video and the insight! Been doing valines for a while and have been booking local gigs. Looking forward to going out on my own this year before the boom :D. Will grab a consultation call a little nervous about the service contract and insurance part of the business xD
Insurance is pretty straight forward, reach out to a business insurance broker in your area. You will likely need liability, cargo, and a commercial auto policy to start - that’s if you want to get your moving permit or moving “license”. You should research what the requirements are in your state. As far as your service contract or BOL goes you can find templates online and build off those templates using ChatGPT. After that you would need to hire a business lawyer to review the contact and edit it. Do as much as you can yourself with the online contracts you find and ChatGPT then reach out to the lawyer.
Awesome videos man! Question from your perspective. I have a 2am-10am job, how hard would it be to start a moving company while working full time. Moving on weekends and after work with friends. Is this something you could pull off in my shoes? And make it successful?
I think it’s something you can pull off. I would go the Weekend Warrior route until your business starts to grow. I would focus on apartment moves and smaller moves to start that way you and your friends can do 2-5 moves in a weekend. I would even pitch my service as weekend warriors to customers - all my socials would have the hours of operation to so there’s no confusion about when you’re open for business. I imagine moving during the week M-F would be a challenge for you with your schedule - you could do it if you had employees who handle the 9-5 stuff like estimates while you sleep. I would also have some sort of automated Ai bot on my website that would communicate with customers and ask basic questions about rates, services, and availability. I think you can be successful doing this. It would obviously take time and patience but I know of guys who have been successful running weekend-only operations.
It depends but usually it’s around $300/month. If you’ve never used Smart Moving I recommend you sign up for a free demo and talk to someone on their team about pricing. Tell them I sent you.
I can agree with hustle on this one, it’s a game changer if it’s utilized correctly. I’ve been using it for 6 months, it makes everything much simpler. Sign up for the free demo and get sold on it!

How do you do payroll and workers comp?
I use Gusto for payroll and my insurance broker handles my workmen’s comp policy.
do you have any idea how much smart moving crm would be?

Will you ever creat a course?
I’ve considered it but I just don’t have the time to create a full course at the moment.
Do you have another form of contact other than instagram that I could use to ask how you handle certain aspects of the moving business?
I don’t right now. Instagram is the best place to talk with me.
