I have always liked the original series shuttlecraft. The story possibilities are quite varied. For example getting sepersted on unknown planets from the main ship. So survival equipment of the future etc.
I love watching these builds as it reminds me not to buy this stuff as I’ll never be able to come up to this standard. So I can enjoy looking at these ones! Star Trek bridge next please!
Always thought a full-sized shuttle would make a good garden shed, workshop or bar. A couple of irrigation pipes, a frame of 2x4's , ply or aluminum over the outside, and you are away... With the low cost of welders there days, you could even frame it with inch steel tube.
@@imarmodels I did make a tree hut for the local kids in the shape of a shuttle. It was only about 2 meters long but was very popular. Lexan windows and a solar panel for lights. 20mm ply sides with aluminum joints. About six kids could get in there at a time. The door had an air piston to stay up.
Have you built a polar lights Enterprise? I was thinking about it but the paint job looks complicated. I did have Matchbox version as a kid, and remember it being caked in glue!😂 I was only about 9 years old at the time.
Hi Ian, I've never seen a bridge figure comparison of these sets it would be great to see. Is it the full new bridge kit or the old half set design as it's still missing a chair for the replacement wall. So tempted to purchase either of these.
@@imarmodels be interesting as said to have a figure comparison though. I've built the old bridge and shuttle decades ago for my brother. Wow seen the shuttle prices and bridge it's one or the other 😅. Always great content 👌.
Not just me who thinks Humbrol Decalfix is rubbish, then? That's a relief. It's okay when new, but after a time it seems to degrade. Micro Sol and Micro Fix (#notspon) always work, and I have never had any problems with either. For tiny decal bubbles, I use a tattoo gun needle (a cut down shading needle with an exceptionally fine point) to pop it, then I just apply a tiny drop of Micro Sol. All sorted.
Yeah I think you must be right about Humbrol going off as I seem to remember it being OK when I bought it. Might as well be badger piss now for all it does
Nice job!
Thanks

I wish it had appeared in more stories, it was a great full (ish) sized prop

The roof panel you don't like is part of the interior set. In the show it is the roof, and the clear part is a light panel.
I could see using it as an interior diorama

I built the 350th scale Motion Pucture Enterprise from Polar Lights and it was a great build (I think there's a video on my channel)

I have a built up version of the old partial bridge kit and an unmade new kit that comes with the extra sections and more figures
