Yeah I think it started with those people renting out Air BNB'S To catch people damaging property, but others are doing it for underhanded purposes.
Put a hot iron over the mattress cover and after a minute, pull the cover away and see if the mattress is infested with bed bugs. As the bugs are attracted by the heat, as in body heat.

Wow Dan, My Pal knows a lot about these people as he deals with a lot of hi tech things! He advised me to check the shower head for hidden cameras, I did what he said but it wouldn't fit back on, I had to explain to the manager how I broke the shower head, I didn't mention my pal I just said that Dan bloke made me do it! He replied are that fool! A bit harsh I thought! Remember Dan we are all doomed it's just we don't know it yet!😂😂😂😂. Cheers Mark.

It wasn't a camera, but it was a listening device. I went into the hallway, and called the local PD. I could tell they were not happy to see it.

Hrm, with most wifi cameras you can turn it off remotely, so I would think if they see you're waving that thing around, they would turn the camera off no broadcasting or active lens.... they couldn't turn it on again remotely, I expect, it could save you being recorded until they can come and turn it on manually, but it would save them a criminal charge. Most likely no-one watching live, though, so it might work fine.
I've seen a vlog and they found over 20 hidden cameras in one room I think it was in Thailand

This is an urban legend more than anything. Any respectable hotel does not want to risk being sued or the owner arrested. Airbnbs are a different story, but even then, they own the property and know the risks. The chances of this actually happening are smaller than something like a pipe bursting while you are there. Of course, the makers of these "spy gadgets" are making a killing 😂

I wouldn't care if some weirdo wanted to waste their time watching me watch TV. It's a problem when someone watches my underage children. That's where it crosses a line for me.

I have no doubt that many hotels I stayed in had covert cameras. I travelled a lot with my Indonesian wife in Java and Sumatra, I could tell by reception staff reaction when we checked out that they had been spying on us. Corrupt countries don't care if customers are spied upon. I just accept, what the hell ?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to actually show it when it works, like against an item you already have?

If someone does have a spy cam or ip cam watching you the first thing you should do when you find it is call the police. Voyeurism Offences Act 2019

you can use ya mobile phone to find them also,just open the camera and look round the room. test this by pointing your tv remote at your phone while camera is open and press a button on the control and you will see it.

You can use your phone to check nearby WiFi signals even hidden networks.. WiFi Analyser (open source) is a simple tool for example.. Tool kits getting bigger don't mix the Woodsman backpack up with the hotel backpack when you leave home😂😂

I dunno if it would be handy if you did come across something just to kind of give the product a bit more authenticity maybe even just a quick demo at home to show it working, would a mobile phone be something that would show up.
It's something to make you wonder though with hotels, I'd have automatically assumed that Air Bn'B's would be more likely to have hidden cameras which is why I'd never stay in one, thanks for the links anyway!
