I’d recommend watching How the Beatles changed music, it’s a far more detailed video, if you’re interested in the history. As for songs recommendations, you should listen to And I love her, I think you’d really it.
Check out "Two of Us" from Let it Be. There is a great video of George on the 6 string bass wearing himself out trying to play rhythm and bass and nailing it. Very underratted guitar player.
How the Beatles Changed the World (Documentary) ruclips.net/video/z4ED8AU9XxQ/видео.html There also used to be a quite decent shorter one called A Brief History of the Beatles, but it seems to have disappeared for now. There are a couple of other videos going under that title, but they're not it, and not very good. The original one was about half an hour in length, IIRC.
that was really a bare bones history.... the Beatles Anthology series is great, but it is in three parts and several hours long... but that's where I would go next if I was you and wanted to learn about the history of the group... it is really well done... the Beatles are fascinating.. I've been fascinated since 1964, and my appreciation for what they accomplished only grows with time
@@1967PONTIACGTO Not saying it doesn't. I own the DVDs. I haven't watched it for a while. Sort of hoping for a new Blu-ray release. After they release Let it Be, I guess.
I've watched these dvds lots of times , sometimes two at a time, I think the first one ends with The Beatles getting off the plane arriving in the U.S for the first time, welli I knew their fame was about to explode, every episode I had to stop myself playing them all at once, it was sad at the end of their time together but the bonus episode cheered me up.
Love your video!! however that video barely touched on a lot of key things. If you want a quick Beatles history video there is one called A Brief History Of the Beatles on RUclips..it’s a bit better than this however there are real documentaries on the group to get the exact details of their 7 yr career that changed the world.
Yoko was John's musical muse. She opened him to many other things other than music. He became, more aware of the conditions of the peoples of the Earth. And he became immensely Associated with the idea of worldwide rpeace. Sometimes outsiders just don't see something. That is simply because it's so simple. And as far as Yoko and John are concerned, they were simply in love just like you or I. It was those around them. That had a view of it that was negative because of their love for The Beatles as a group, And the turmoil that suddenly became due to John's relationship with Yoko. It's simple,. He loved her.
I am American and dated a girl from Southampton, UK in her 40s (I am in my 50s) and she really did not know much about the Beatles. Generational thing I guess. We went to see Paul live in Boston, MA in 2022. Just a day or two before his 80th birthday. He is still amazing. Sang songs for John and George. Was little old ladies and little kids all singing along and knowing all the words. Hey Jude everyone was singing in Fenway Park home of the Boston Red Sox since 1912.
End of november a new documentary on Disney +: Beatles 64 - at the start of their success in the USA - released by Paul, Ringo, Sean Lennon and Olivia Harrison)
The video version is the best of the several versions released. From the same sessions as the iconic Hey Jude video. Audio distortion is entirely intentional. (In just put that in for Ms Princess because some younger reactors have misunderstood it to be the result of less advanced recording techniques back in the olden days! 😀) The highly distorted noise along with the lyrics reflect the increasingly chaotic times when social and cultural Revolution was in the air in an international countercultural movement in which everyone and their dog had a political philosophy and a cause and a theory about how this Revolution should be carried out, and they were all vying for the Beatles' endorsement which would have given them a lot of publicity and hopefully converts, or otherwise just a hefty donation... John describes all this perfectly along with his own thought process as he tries to unravel it all and decide where he stands on the issues raised. Meanwhile Paul and George adding doo-whops and laughter poke fun at the over-bearing seriousness of it all.
Don’t worry about getting every single detail right. It’s impossible. Just keep reacting to things that you find interesting. You’re always a lot of fun to watch and listen to. It’s very difficult not to smile along with you, very infectious.
As far as Yoko, I good way to find out about her and the relations within the band, is watch the "Get Back" documentary, which came out in 2021. Peter Jackson made this documentary and it is much of what was left out of the 1970 film "Let it Be". This is a film about their brotherhood/friendship and also includes fights they had during the process, but that often happens among creative partners, right? It was a serious situation but they did talk it out and resolve it and they went on to enjoy most of the rest of the recording/filming process! They really were more than just "friends", they were a real brotherhood! But Yoko is a part of the film and they show and talk about their feelings about her...and it's not really a problem, in the end. She wasn't so bad but it was a change from their original working process.
This is a very superficial summary of the Beatles phenomenon, which is only scratched here. There are plenty of better and more detailed ones on the Internet, than this very patchy work.
There’s a compilation of some funny interviews Of the Beatles that you can find of yt as well, you could check it out, it’s such a fun watch and really showcases why they were so big aside from their music, it’s because they were funny and with no filter and could really hold their own against the press.
We all start with these myths about the Beatles- and the more you read and follow you get the real story. Like the Let it Be project, completely rewritten by the Get Back documentary.
In 1969 and 1970 there was no Internet. Bands like the Beatles were massively influential. There has been no other band as influential as the Beatles since. but there have been bands better, but not as influential in their time.
The reason for the White Album was the original Album Cover featured a photo Yoko Ono's bum sitting. The Album Cover was rejected by the Censors. S,o they said we won't put anything on the Cover, hence the White Album.
I am an atheist and would not glorify or wordhip any deities. I love The Beatles but have never idolised or worshipped them. I just loved their music and liked George, and Ringo, and John, and Paul as themselves. Some girls mightve gone a little CrAzY over them, but I never screamed at them. I wanted to hear what they were singing and playing. Fandom doesn't have to be manic.
The documentary appeared to be going for the fastest history of a band in five minutes or less. You need to watch a much longer and better documentary, someone who will take their time with the history. There's lots of them out there.
I hate to sound churlish, but is there some reason for each track playing about half as fast again as its actual speed, and the same for all spoken contributions, other than a desire to squeeze as much as possible into 11 minutes or so?
The main reasons for the split, were 1. John, George and Ringo agreed to have Alan Klein manage the group (although he just ripped off the Rolling Stones for millions) Paul held out and the court cases split them up. 2. They were all married and had families pulling at them. Harrison was limited so much, he had dozens of songs to release. Ringo was more into country music and acting than playing with the same 3 guys year after year. Yoko and all the wives were a part of it, but mostly it was just time for them to break and have lives outside of hotel rooms.
Disney made a parody of the band in the 60's movie The Jungle Book. Originally, the company wanted the real band to come onto the movie by voicing their lookalike vultures, but they had to decline due to scheduling concerns. That's funny that people were on your butt because you didn't know about the Beatles for a while, the same thing happened to me. I'm American and I didn't know who Michael Jackson was for 12 years. 4:06: Way for Watch Mojo to gloss over what happened that made Beatles fans in America wanting to destroy anything Beatle related. John Lennon gave an answer on a British interview on the state of kids in England which he replied the band was more popular than Jesus to them. However, two DJs in America took what he said out of context and made it seem John Lennon was disrespecting Christianity for a joke, they claim. 4:28: It would've been nice for Watch Mojo to mention the stinker film that was also called Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band that ruined the images of Peter Frampton and the Bee Gees. Perhaps the Beatles opened the door for other Brit bands to come to the US like The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Cure, The Smiths, Art Of Noise, Oasis, Radiohead and Bloc Party to name a few. By the way, can I ask you a question: are you for Liverpool or Manchester? By that, I mean are you pro-Beatles or pro-Smiths? By the way, Princess, I recommend you watch a documentary I found amusing titled 100 Most Shocking Moments In Rock N Roll that's on RUclips.
Don't know if you're into movies or if you're into older movies. Whatever, but you should make an effort to see the movies that The Beatles made in their early days. First of all, no matter what, all of their music is throughout those movies, so that alone makes it worth seeing them, but I think you would get a kick out of it. They're funny, very funny, guys. But what you will get is a sense of who each one of them are.
If you think the original Beatles version of Hey Jude was good, you should hear the cover Wilson Pickett did of the song, featuring the great Duane Allman (later to form the Allman Brothers Band) on guitar. The famous Lennon-Jesus quote is a prime example, of how crazy some dogmatic religionists are. Lennon used the comparison in an interview, because he had no other idea in that moment. He just wanted to mention a well-known person or thing, to describe the popularity of the Beatles. He could've mentioned Presley or the US President or anything else. In any case, he had no intention of offending any religion freaks. Of course, the religious fanatics, including the idiotic Ku Klux Klan, did that with him and the Beatles, primarily in the Bible Belt of the USA. They have always been on the verge of madness and made a monkey show of it with threats, public record burnings (some of them probably burned their fingers...) and some radio stations boycotted the Beatles. Why? Because they were all crazy there and still are today... P.S. some pope "generously" forgave John Lennon for the comment 10 or 15 years ago... 🤣🤣

You don't need to apologize for not knowing about the Beatles. There was a time I'd never heard of them! You're 19, born into a completely different era dominated by Rap, Hip Hop and Taylor Swift. It's almost as if the powers that be/were, tried very hard to bury older music, instead, saturating youth with only modern stuff, which by the way often has a ton of satanic symbolism and violent lyrics, not in all songs of course, but in a quite a few. Ask yourself why that is? Let's just say it's a good way to fill up privately owned prisons in the US and tear down society by messing up a whole generation. Give yourself a big pat on the back for having the curiosity and guts as a young person to break out of 'sheeple think' and discover music you've never heard of - to open your mind to other possibilities. Not all older music was great - some of it was crap. Just enjoy the journey of discovery and be - you. Ps - May I suggest you focus on the 99% positive feedback and not the 1%! They don't know you, so, there's no way you can take it personally, they only project their stuff onto others. Just laugh it off! Evidence says your subscriber numbers have gone from 0 to 40.6k that tells anyone with a brain cell you're doing well and people like you and your content - that's the truth.
