InMotion V8F Disassembly For Repair and Tire Change

  • We tear down InMotion's new V8F electric unicycle to take a deeper look at any changes in the disassembly and repair process made from their previous EUCs. If you need to do a simple tire change, you'll just need to watch up to the point where the wheel & motor are removed from the case.
    We are pleased to find that V8F is one of if not THE most weather-sealed EUCs yet. Of course, you should still use caution when riding V8F in the rain / wet weather, but this is a positive step forward for the industry.

    Great tutorial of the strip down.
    For tire (tyre) change/repair you don't have to take off the pedals or handle, also the flaps (under the pedals) have a notch to the right hand side to slide the pin into for removal.
    But I would have struggled to do anything without watching this first.

    • @dillonchai4148
      @dillonchai4148 Год назад

      Could you explain where to find the notch? I'm currently struggling with taking out the flap. To me the metal pin looks fused to the end of the plastic casing and it's not moving no matter how hard I try.

      There are the notch about 1/2 inch right from once. And also needs to kick in direct of slider. You can use WD-40 then do it easy.

      @@user-xs7up1fb9u Sorry what do you mean by "once"? Is the notch on the metal pin? Because the metal pin on my flaps are really smooth so it's impossible to get a grip on them to slide them out. I also have a V8S not a V8F if that makes a difference

  • @MarcelSamyn

    Some things I found opening my V8S:
    - You don't need to remove the pedals to open the side covers
    - To remove the battery housing, in the V8S you need to remove more of the LEDs because the battery case is covered by the pieces left and right that contain the wires going to the lights and speaker.
    - The white and balance wires between the mainboard and battery pack also have a connector next to the XT60 near the battery. You don't need to open the motherboard cover to remove the batteries.
    - For the battery, indeed you don't need to remove all the screws. The screws that are very deep are the ones that keep the cover closed, don't remove them just to take out the battery pack (woops)

I tried applying upward and outward pressure as highlighted in this video but my flaps aren't budging, and I'm not seeing any notches or indents that other people have described. For the valve covers I almost lost my mind trying to remove them this way. The metal rod can be pushed to the right (there's an indent that allows it) with your nail easily to remove it the correct way without trying to break it off. Possibly a thing for a bit newer models, but still a thing to note.

      Before riding did you check the tire pressure? We always recommend at least 35psi on the V8F, and 40psi or 45psi for best rim safety if you're OK with that pressure. It's possible to get parts and replace just the rim yourself with the help of a few how to videos, but you're uncomfortable opening the motor then the only option is replacing the motor.

  • @rcgldr
    @rcgldr Год назад

    I bought a V8F from EUCO back late July 2020. When charging, it usually took about 2 seconds or so after connecting to the charger before it would beep and turn on the blue bars. Recently it sometimes takes from 5 to 25 seconds before it beeps and turns on the blue lights, while other times it only takes 2 seconds. The charger light goes red as soon as I connect it to my V8F, so i don't think that is the problem. Once it does beep, it seems to charge normally and I can use Inmotion App or EUC World app to monitor the charge. When going for a ride, it powers on in less than a second, and it rides OK. I live in Orange County California, so the weather is not that cold when I ride. I keep my V8F indoors where the temperature is about 72 degrees. Should I be concerned about the time it sometimes takes to respond to being connected to the charger?
