Something to note about all the trials in this game is that if no button strength is indicated in the display then that means that multiple strengths of that move work. For beginner 9 I think the intention is to use heavy launch and heavy DP since its damage optimal but its not strictly necessary
You can go into options and change it to where the buttons are displayed rather than what kind of input the attack is; then you always know if a light, medium or heavy.
One time i was at combo breaker watching some dudes play some casuals in this game I didn't recognize so I turned to my left and asked the guy next to me what game it was and it was JMcrofts Hope youre doing good man looking forward to seeing you at future tournaments
That's what I love about this game. I exclusively play Juri and don't even use her Feng Shui at all. And I still manage to climb (almost Diamond). You can play Characters the way you want, and you are not forced to use certain tools of their kit to succeed, as long as you make the character work with your own way of playing. Will I touch the Feng Shui Engine someday? Probably, because sooner or later I want to utilize her whole Kit, but for now I want to learn the game with her and when I feel comfortable enough with my fundamentals, I will dive deeper into her. Other characters would probably suit my play style way better, but only one Character can fulfill my dark desires...and there is only one woman with one eye and a sassy attitude.
I wish I could have found someone to tell be about advanced 1. It took me like 3 days to finally figure out you can delay that kick to connect the drive rush
I having issues with advanced 1 with the DR DHK but I finished all her other combos. If you didn't know when you watch the example of any trial the inputs are shown so it helps a lot
I've been stuck in intermediate 12 forever, I can't get that link of 2M to 2H. I was hoping you'd have advice but you just cruised through that shit easy.
Yo fuck Dhalsim intermediate 12. You said he breezed through it but I wanna know how long the cut took LOL this trial was definitely the hardest out of any of the ones I've done (including advanced for most of the cast). I was stuck on it yesterday too and unfortunately you're only at the first stage of BS it'll pull on you so if you think that link is hard it might not be your only roadblock. Once you surmount that obstacle there's some more shenanigans waiting, because getting that link wasn't even a factor for why it took so long for me after I managed to get it down consistently. It took me way longer than I'd like to admit to realize what JM did in this vid, that you need to use heavy version of the super or it won't work (among other stuff). To answer your question, the easiest way to link it is to just follow what the replay does and walk like 1 nanometer forward at the start of the round and it should work because the spacing needs to be pretty much perfect. Good luck lmao let me know when you complete it!
@t-yu LMFAO!! I Was talking about Juri BUT I also was doing Dhalsim later so this still applies. I did 12 with H like Jim says and it worked! I haven't gone back to Juri but your comment has inspired me to work harder!
@@bluexco Oh I totally missed the 2H thing you said and assumed there was no possible way for any other intermediate 12 to be nearly as difficult LMAO. Yeah you gotta keep at it! I was stuck on one forever until my friend said "hurry up and finish the combo so we can play" and I got it next try so it just takes some encouragement.
Is juri the only character that can exceed 50 hits? I've watched persona entertainment's videos and so far only juri is capable of it. He did a 63 hits max.
do you think you can make a vid about the new changes to hitbox in sf6 and the differences between them. i haven't heard anything about it after the news about hitbox changes.
Watching Zangief do 1 hit into level 3 for 60-65% is so disheartening as I am over here with JP and Marissa spending 3/4 of my meter and 14 hits into a level 3 for 50%. Also, I know you didn't do his trials in this video, but when I went through JPs I almost shat myself. I can't remember which category and number it is, but the JP combo with three(!!!) DIs in it drove me bonkers. Who is doing this combo??? I would love to see Marissa next. I just finished her trials the other day and I am a huge fan of the character.
I've never played a SF game, I'm now slightly nervous to try and get in starting with juri Edit: wow, lots of supportive comments, that's not what I expected
Juris the first character I'm trying to learn. The trials alone helped me understand some of her cancels and combo routes a bit better. Don't get discouraged, just keep at it and take it piece by piece at your own pace.
its my first real attempt at a SF game and i started with juri. i was having fun and it placed me in gold for some reason (i lose almost all my matches at this rank lol) but the important things ive learned is that you really have to be patient and don't be afraid of playing a long neutral. she has some of the best normals in the game and she is very good at poking with them alongside being good at her pressure and things. you should focus on learning versatile blockstring setups and pressure as opposed to super long combos. you really just need to know 2 or 3 short combos you can easily confirm and do in a variety of situations, everything else is more important when starting out with this game. i also learned a lot by playing with some other characters and going back to juri so don't be afraid to branch out. but the most important thing is that you play a character you actually like, not one that's "good for beginners". the fastest way to learn is to learn something you actually care about, regardless of how hard it is
Modern certainly makes it very approachable, plus this game has a lot of target combos you can use into special cancels. They might not be flashy big combos but you really don't need big combos to win as a beginner
Don't worry about long and difficult combos at first. Focus more on training your reactions to opponent jumps/drive impacts/whiffed buttons and on learning the pros and cons of your most important moves.
If you put kimberly in 7 (instant air tatsu after spray can) guile is going to be all alone up there. Maybe the guile combo is more technical, but personally even though Kim advanced 3 is a pretty free and mashable combo, the starter makes it the most frustating one hands down. Guile advanced 2 was SIGNIFICANTLY less frustrating.
Some of the super cancels seem absurdly tight. Like I've been trying to do Jamie's intermediate 9, which requires you to cancel 6HP into his level three super, and it feels genuinely impossible on gamepad. I can only sometimes get it on keyboard and even then it feels like more blind luck than something I did
The only combo trials I can't complete are Juri (because of Feng Shui Engine), JP (because portal teleports confuse me), Kimberly (because of the janky Tiger Knee move) and Guile (standing LK into Flash Kick is just too hard).
There are. I havent done the trials for it, but I have a few hours on modern. Its got auto combos for beginners, but also actual combos like classic. The timing is still required but inputs are simplified.
How do you do her ultimate so fast on intermediate 12 after her light( tenshin)? Are u actually doing the double quarter circles ? Please explain a faster way im new to sf ..
As a new fighter game player Zangief Ults and circle combos are so hard for me to accurately hit. Any tips on being more accurate doing circle move combos I'm using Xbox controller btw
Well your issue is a motor function one so there's no real tips other than practice. I'd try putting extra pressure on the outwards movement but you'll kill your controller over time. You might need to look into alternative controllers if you're really struggling
You don't need to do a full circle motion. Start from forward and do 2/3 circle going down wards and press the button as you hit up back on the stick, arrows or whatever you're using.
Then for air circle, start on the ground, do the same thing, and wait a little after hitting "up" during your motion before inputting the button for it. Just a little delay
As a new player i cant even complete the first one. I cant even read what that button text means and aftere figuring out through videos what i need to press i still cant complete it it just doesnt do it.
Damn what bummed me out about Dhalsim is that much of his combo fodder are half circle back motions coming from a back comand normal. You need to be pretty fast to do those and I'm not lol
some they just have as black, which isn't any one in particular. Sometimes it genuinely doesn't matter which you do, but sometimes one of the buttons won't work
You dont need to do a full 360 for an SPD - Back, halfcircle forward, then upforward and punch at the same time. Or Numpad notation: 412359P If you hit the punch at the exact time you go to upforward, he won't jump and do the special instead.
There is a video already on this channel about it, search "fighting game slang is weird" and it's right in the middle of the video, but the short answer is a special input ending in a jump input, so like quarter circle forward but ending with up forward.
I should hope she has long combos, she has a whole super for getting longer combos.
I was like damn they really just gave Juri the Gohan super
I feel like that install just turns her into an anime fighter
Really sick that you can do these combos with only one arm. Major respect
Big baiken energy
most juri players do tbf
More like cammy players aka me
I really thought he had only one arm
I can’t wait for Croft to become a serious Dhalsim main “as a joke.”
As a Juri foot soldier, I need to work on the feng shui combos more so I can exert dominance over the Cammy booty warriors.
And against the Chun Lee Thigh Brigade. 💯
And against the Marisa Muscle Militia. 💯
These nicknames are killing me 😂😂😂😂😂
Juri is really fun to play. Many approaches and gimmicks on really cool combos. Love her!
Ikr she's fantastic
I love her, too. Juri is cute and cuddly
Something to note about all the trials in this game is that if no button strength is indicated in the display then that means that multiple strengths of that move work. For beginner 9 I think the intention is to use heavy launch and heavy DP since its damage optimal but its not strictly necessary
Slight correction, Heavy Fuha actually does 100 damage less than all the other ones.
@@GiraffinatorOnly heavy can combo into DP though
@@lilacrain3283 wall splat combos are different, try it out
@@lilacrain3283 also he uses light fuha in the video, I just realized

There are guys in this game who can do fireballs and teleport, but for some reason I'd be most afraid to fight Zangief.
I love when you do combo trials cause you always give some tricks to simplify medium/hard tricky combos.
Keep it up mate !
You can go into options and change it to where the buttons are displayed rather than what kind of input the attack is; then you always know if a light, medium or heavy.

loving the dhalsim content
I just love how Jm picks up on Juris advanced trial 1 like that.

"Why are Juri's combos SO LONG??"
Because Juri, that's why.
jmcrofts, that one combo right here 4:55 , it does no damage because low forwards usually scale up the combo by a decent bit
We still have not seen the JP trial. Maybe you could put that in with the last two trials.
Three of my favorites 😁 great video! Lovin this series
God I love Juri.
I'd like to see you do the Modern combo trials. Might be interesting to see how they stack up to the Classic counterparts
I wish I could have found someone to tell be about advanced 1. It took me like 3 days to finally figure out you can delay that kick to connect the drive rush
Juri's combos are as long as me when I see her ngl 👀
Manon was completely hosed and done dirty.
I having issues with advanced 1 with the DR DHK but I finished all her other combos. If you didn't know when you watch the example of any trial the inputs are shown so it helps a lot
Rote memorization of long combos is why i don't like getting into fighting games competitively
At the end, this is just advanced Simon says, congrats man, I wouldn’t remember half of those combos lol
Gief's combos look simple, but I'm so bad at 360 motions on my leverless controller that I struggle with them.
Tell me why the intermediate combos are harder than the advanced ones? Also the Dhalsim combos made my thumbs HURT man
Hope you stick with Dhalsim, very fun to watch you play him!
Juri is a KOF character with SF damage scale.
Spot on observation.
Juri's Feng Shui combos look like they belong in MvC.
Can't wait to see you do Marisa I'm sure you'll fly through her trials easily
Hope this isn't controversial to say, but, why is Intermediate 7 harder on Modern controls than classic?
I've been stuck in intermediate 12 forever, I can't get that link of 2M to 2H. I was hoping you'd have advice but you just cruised through that shit easy.
