Level 2 super doesn't remove your drinks if you already have four, which the trial started you with. When you already have four drinks, further drinks will refill your drive gauge half a bar per drink, while the level 2 super completely replenishes your gauge
Thanks for the info, i was just about to say surely extra drinks after 4 is useless. But its not lol. So i guess game plan with jamie is build drinks then go ham on OD moves while drinking inbetween.
17:20 to clarify something, Honda's Sumo Spirit buff allows him to cancel into hundred hands off of 3 moves that normally can't: Crouching Heavy Punch, Late hit Standing Heavy Punch, and the Sumo Clap special move. The Clap in particular enables much stronger confirms off of lights
Also Honda can cancel off of both hits of his stand heavy kick, but only the first one can combo into the sumo step launcher (it's either that or drive rush heavies)
I'm so very happy that characters like marisa exist. As someone who hasn't seen a fighting game since the SNES, I really needed something that wasn't garbage tier, easy enough to understand, and that I'm able to execute with my motor issues
6:40 this combo only works in level 4, because they're using the level 2 super to restore your drive gauge to have enough for the rest of the combo (which, that's what drink does at level 4 btw, they all restore drive gauge)
About Manon's medals and stuff, I don't think people realize that her command grab is the weakest *damaging* command grab in the game at 1 medal (not counting Jamie's since that's a utility command grab). It literally does less damage than a punish counter throw at 1 medal and at 2 medals, it still does less damage than Marisa's command grab which has the natural mixup of if you try to jump away, she can overhead you and if you stand-block, she can hit you with a low. It's not until 3 medals she starts surpassing people in command grab damage and it's pretty much on you to avoid letting her get those medals. Between having pretty middling moves that can be drive rush cancelable in the range department, she also has the problem of outright having the absolute worst drive rush distance in the game. Even both Dhalsim and Gief has better distance with drive rush than Manon, so her range is hampered there as well. Meaning, odds are she can't really do a long-range whiff punish and then drive rush in simply because she won't move close enough to actually continue the combo. Also the fact that she gets no real combos from any of her target combos, at best she can try to crLP after the stHP+stHP target combo, but you can also mash any 4-frame to trade to make her back off or just neutral jump in many cases. At lower ranks, people get hit a lot by stHP + stHP into command grab, but you can neutral jump and get a punish counter combo from it. If you're afraid of her doing a drive rush into command grab from neutral, you can lab it by setting up a training routine where she will drive rush into the comand grab just to see the ranges at which you can stuff it with a sweep, a normal that doesn't extend your hurtbox too much so she gets a grab from it or just backdash once to not get grabbed by it. It is -49f to -54f on whiff, so learning how to avoid getting raw grabbed means you get to do an absolute max damage combo in return. Same thing with many of her specials, they leave her severely minus on block so if you keep crouch blocking primarily you can stuff a lot of her ground-spins since it's one of the moves that's kind of difficult to spot the start-up of. Which means she likely will start doing the overhead special instead, which can be DI'd if you spot it early enough. (Hot tip, a lot of Manons will do the overhead special on wake up to try to meaty which is a good time to DI as well. Just don't DI too often because then you're probably gonna eat a command grab in return). In fact, if you want to specifically take a dump on Manon, play a character with good neutral buttons. It's funny how a lot of the characters that are considered "worse" in SF6 are characters that make Manon players miserable. Lily and Gief are miserable to fight as Manon since Lily strictly outrange and gets wind charges, Zangief is you but with armor and has 3+ medal damage on his throws from the get-go while also having better buttons but Jamie is the actual spawn of Lucifer. You're not allowed to whiff anything against Jamie because he will just get drinks for free on you since his normals all pretty much outrange anything Manon has and if you whiff, he'll get to combo you into oblivion. I know this sounds like typical Manon downplaying, but I really don't mean it to be. I've played Manon from day 1 and never even tried a single other character online yet, so I think I'm sitting at 1600-ish games with Manon. Am I good with her? Not really. But since Capcom decided to just make another french grappler instead of letting me have Abel back, this is the closest i'll get to having Abel in a game again so I'm stuck playing her. Just trying to help out people who are struggling against the tall french lady. Anything to make people stop gosh darn backpedaling for 90% of the match against me. This ended up longer than I originally intended, but hey. That's how it is sometimes.
So we've learned from these videos that JM's weakness is moves with special timing mechanics (Dee Jay super and Luke perfect knuckles). People are really built different, I had no trouble with those but found Chun ridiculously hard.
9:34 It HURTS. I'm pretty sure unless you use even more gauge and/or supers, the free hard knockdown is worth it for the damage alone. It's also a really reliable way to end rounds while spending your entire drive gauge
i slept on him for way too long and only just recently picked him up and hes growing to be one of my favourite characters. i think its the combo extending level 3, drink gimmicks, drunken fighter theme, command grab starter and launcher do it for me, those all make him extremely fun
Pre-warning about World Tour, if you decide to play through it for a video(s)/stream(s). The mode is like 30-40 hours. Maybe it could be 10 or 20 hours, if you rush immediately into each Main Story Mission. But, if you want to explore, do sub-missions, meet and talk with all the Masters, etc. time starts to fly. I made it to credits around 41 hours, although I'm the type who sometimes plays through games pretty slowly.
2 things abt Jamie, that Forward HK has 3 followups not just the drink and headbutt, but one where he slides and hits you continuously with a spinning attack. Also for the 3 bar combo, the level 2 drink refills the drive gauge aswell as normal drinks, the normal drinks fill it half for every drink he gets after level 4, same goes for the level 2 super, but instead of filling half a drive bar of the gauge, it fills 3 and allows you to do that combo. Yeah Jamie is sick nasty with it.
Hey, i'm interested in buying an arcade stick to use to play fighting games with on my ps5 (i'll soon be hopping on to a PC), and was curious if you had any recommendations? What one do you use? I would appreacite the help a lot
The perfects aren't the easiest things to do, but I also don't think they're that bad. I felt the timing was easy enough to get a hang of, especially in a training/trial mode environment. I definitely struggled way harder with some of the characters he has around 7 and 8. Maybe even the 6s too.
I noticed some add cuts in the beginning of the video where some of the content got skipped. It was an awesome video though. I find it a blast watching the trials; especially since it gives me hope that I can pull them off.
I like that there's a type of character for pretty much everyone. I hate Luke's "Perfect" charges because it's soooo awkward but it's cool that it appeals to some players
That advanced 2 trials was ridiculous. It couple very specific timings. First the perfect then the juggle where you basically have to "perfect" time the aerial one too so it doesn't come too early but doesn't turn into the held version either.
Helps that in SF6 he's actually far more suited for the game and isn't kinda busted. Also he's officially Luke from Streets now, so I feel like that has made so many people accept him as the new face, if only because now the cycle is complete.
Got the game on day one and Luke was the first character I picked up and went into trials with so you can imagine how well that worked out. Now it’s a piece of cake.
I completed all the trials, with chun li and guile struggling the most. Really dissapointed for getting nothing when completing the trials. It was still fun nonetheless!
Well of course there's no reward, you're not done with all the trials yet : ) There's Rashid, A.K.I, Ed and Akuma to go still /s. But still, there should be at least a title or a background reward, cuz the execution practice isn't much of one since its a one and done.
Man JM, did you see that recent Justin Wong Dhalsim video a week ago? Seeing someone do that well with him against Wong was so impressive. He also somehow used drill a decent amount compared with your advice to never use it, but I am too noob to understand why he was using it.
Been working on Jamies combo trials for a good 8 hours trying to get to grip with the motions ( doing both sides ) and this dude goes "this was easy" and knocks it out in sub 7min. I dont think i will ever be good at fighting games x)
You probably know this but you hold the button for 18-21 frames for the flash knuckles so go in training and set the game speed to 50% and get a feel for when that is in the animation. I did that for like 10 mins a day for a couple days while learning other stuff and now I can do them like 9/10 times. It’s not that bad
Ya do the arcade modes. Or heck. Do world tour and build your character. Not the best or most fun. Yours. What combination of moves and normals would JM use if he were a playable character?! That always sounds interesting
Jamie actually have 4 follow ups after lvl 4 forward heavy kick. If you press right away it’s a headbutt, with slight delay he got 2 spinning punches, with even more delay 3 spinning punches and finally giga drink 😊
Luke's trials with perfects were legitimately hard. I think 9/10 is an appropriate rating cuz those trials make him definitely harder than the rest of the cast except Guile who deserves to be the only 10/10.
He never even found the third follow-up of Jamie’s level 4 kick target combo, where if you press punch between the two timings he did he does a spin forward
I'm watching someone else play SF6 and I find myself wanting to watch you play more Dhalsim on ranked. I think you could make a running series on taking unpopular characters as far as you can and I bet it would get good views.
A lot of new people are going to be joining SF6. Would you share a video about your controls and what you recommend for controls / controllers? Any kind of additional research into all the controllers the community uses would also be cool to hear about.
Dammit, why do Luke's moves look so cool when he looks and acts like such a fuckboy. Luke is a character I like the mechanics of but damn do I not like him as a person.
oh really Yeah ngl your trials videos got me to really try out games like sf4 and umvc3. I got a headstart on this game for that but this should be fun nonetheless. Almost a bit poetic for me,lol
Jamie should have been DLC. He's not hard but he's pretty complex and people aren't exploring his moveset cause they're too busy learning the systems. But by the time we get the systems and are looking for more meat to chew on we'll have shiny new chars asking for attention.

The issue with Jamie's combos that are like 4+ drinks is that by the time you have 4 drinks that combo is way overkill
definitely the biggest shortcoming with his design overall.
Now it's no as longer much of a problem because he doesn't lose his drinks after Level 2.

Always love your combo trial videos, I’m still stuck on the intermediate Marisa trials but your videos are always a great motivator to keep trying.
Try to learn as much as you can. You’ll get there eventually!
man, why is jamie the coolest character ever???
Cause ur an alcoholic
He looks kinda weird to me, something bout his face. But he’s pretty cool if I don’t look at his face XD
@@michaelbeeche6130he does have a very feminine face
Ew
hard disagree on these replies ngl lol. Personally love him too hands on
As a certified Marisa player, I can agree that her combos are pretty baby easy compared to other characters
Same. I remember going into training mode then her trials and being like "This isn't much different from what I found on my own."
Press 3 buttons
61% hp damage
Dommy mommy marisa best character
well there is gief lmao
Luke charge moves are why I play the character. It just feels so good when you land the wall bounce combo.
Hey, i'm interested in buying an arcade stick to use to play fighting games with on my ps5 (i'll soon be hopping on to a PC), and was curious if you had any recommendations? What one do you use? I would appreacite the help a lot
The fact that you can get the buff after the stun and still do the combo feels so disrespectful lol
Also gratz on doing them all!
As a Luke player, this definitely helps me feel better for dropping combos now
I didn’t struggle that much with Luke’s combos. For some reason I was terrible with Chun and Cammy
The perfects aren't the easiest things to do, but I also don't think they're that bad. I felt the timing was easy enough to get a hang of, especially in a training/trial mode environment. I definitely struggled way harder with some of the characters he has around 7 and 8. Maybe even the 6s too.
@@zanpakutoman4225 yeah been playing Luke and perfects are not hard at all, you just have to get muscle memory for it

Oooh, Luke is saying Beast Mode! That makes more sense than baseball!
Im so glad people are starting to really like luke after basically hating him since he got added to sf5.
Helps that in SF6 he's actually far more suited for the game and isn't kinda busted. Also he's officially Luke from Streets now, so I feel like that has made so many people accept him as the new face, if only because now the cycle is complete.

Could be a fun tradition to introduce each new character with their combo trial

As a Luke player, knowing the perfect comes pretty naturally.
Yo it’s been six months since the kizzie set, it’s time to ring mans up
I found Luke to be one of the easier ones personally, i played him in demo a lot so i already had mastered perfect
Tbh, I'd love to see the full unedited version of this video (even if its 3 hours long)
yeah, lukes combos are hard. and its not only the perfect timing, its also the aerial uppercut
Can you add a "hand cam" to show how you are doing these combos on stick?
I loved these :)
Crazy request but any chance u can do a super cut with everyone's trails please can't be the only one who wants to see that

Funny enough I get Luke’s perfects pretty consistently, but I’m totally struggling at the game as a whole lol
Oh my god is that Luke from Streets?
Is Jamie supposed to be one of the protagonists of the game? I Don't remember him coming up much in world tour
