Yes it’s more difficult to designate where a single shot cane from, but if you are going to take a shot, there is a lot of thought behind it. Research the CARVER process. It’s the “checklist” or process we use to decide whether or not a target is worth shooting at. Enjoyed the video
There is a legend that many dayZ players know and is shrouded in mystery. It’s is that if you reach the border of the map and continue past it to the highest point, you may be able to look and see glimpses of Arma IV on the horizon.
Has anyone ever actually wondered outside the map much? Me and a friend explored past the border but only ever got about 100m out as i was scared the ground may loose clipping or something

Small and pedantic correction: modern firearms use smokeless powder, so while there’s a LITTLE bit of smoke, what he’s seeing is actually the gases escaping the barrel (the virtual version, of course). It’s kind of similar to when you blow hot air out while it’s cold and you can see your breath. Keep in mind, this is pedantic af, you can still call it a “smoking barrel” if you’d like, nothing wrong with that. Just figured I’d share that tid bit.

If you ever need a suppressor then just drain/drink a water bottle then combine duct tape with it annnd boom you got yourself a suppressor now it is pretty bad since it takes only a couple shots depending on the caliber

Also the water bottle suppressor has saved my ass so many times. It would be a godly item for someone with such good aim as Drewski here. It dampens the sound from the first shot enough to not aggro zoms on you, even when using the Tundra. Just so long as you're not right beside them. You talking about headlights across the valley, reminded me of when I was in the Territorial Army in England. I was on exercise and had to get from point A to B without being seen. It was dark and basically I had to crawl about 300 meters across a field as low as I could go. There was mud, thistles etc. I got about half way and this random train starts coming along a track that was near the field, that no one knew about, and just the lights from the carriages was enough to light up the whole field. So I desperately tried to hide myself in the dirt and bury my face, because that was the whitest part, and hoping that the shitty smell was not a cowpat I had just buried my face in. Anyway, the train went by and I carried on to the copse of trees I had to get to. Somebody tapped on my shoulder, it was the officer watching me through NVG, and he said " son, you were doing so fucking well, then that train, lit you up like a flare, you should be dead, but good job". Happy days, that was 30 years ago. Keep up the good work Drewski, its a pleasure to watch your games.

One of the reasons you’ll find the combat system so clunky indoors is because you’re using 3rd person so often. Indoors always use 1st person. Just some advice from 2k hours.
Hey I completely agree but in the first scenario third person is needed to shoulder peak hallways if you want to fight fair. But overall I completely agree and I myself enjoy playing 1pp servers
3rd person servers suck honestly, you can hold some angles that are way beyond op, in some buildings you just cant push bc If there is someone they will hear you(also another point that i dont like ab dayz is that you will allways make noise when walking, unlike tarkov that you can move very slowly) and will kill you without you having much chance to react, and If you do its most likely that It is going to be a kill trade

A few tips that you may know that I've learned. When you cook the meat, after you complete the first circle and it becomes baked, keep on cooking it to increase the temp from 75 degrees to 100 degrees. Put that in your jacket/pants (Not your back pack) and it will keep you warm. Do that several times and you can stay warm through the roughest rain storms and at night. You can also cook worms in the fire to burn them, put the fire out and put them in your inventory as well to take up less space. Just helps not having to stay stuck to a fire at night. Other than that, awesome video!

@@BluntSmokeTrauma GPU's are often expected to run hotter than CPU's. It's cool that you're running yours cool, but it's not necessary (or that helpful) to try to get the same temps as you would for your CPU. They're designed to maintain 80 or 85.

In my experience heat's usually only a killer in the changes it CAN make longer term (some cards seem to not deal well with heat over time and others it just doesn't seem to matter). If you are frequently pushing hard and running hot, you can shorten their lives over the years somewhat. I don't worry about running at 80c either but cards I've run at temp limit for years definitely show their age so to speak. Not an issue if you're running the card hard for 4-5 years....might become an issue if you're running it like that for 6+ years. Again, I don't disagree, you're not doing your GPU any disservice running in the 80c range (especially these last few years of cards) and there are other things more likely to be the demise of the card if it even gets used for 5+ years. I have my original ATI Radeon 9700pro in a running machine still, its my first self built PC and my second oldest GPU at 18 years old...That thing got pushed hard for Doom 3 and HL2's orginal releases plus UT2003 and 2004 but its still plugging away like it did all those years ago (to the best of my recollection that is :)).

The thing that I've always loved about DayZ is just how damn realistic a firefight can get. Man I just wish other games had this kind of attention to detail and the kinds of scenarios you find yourself in in DayZ.
***Using your custom fan curve without Afterburner running in the background*** You can tell Afterburner to apply your overclock and custom fan curves upon windows startup (Afterburner has to start with Windows too). Once Windows loads in and Afterburner loads up your profiles, you can just close it out and the profiles run in memory. Every time you boot the system, you have to wait for afterburner to load the profiles, but that is really the only inconvenience. I only say wait because if you close the app as soon as it pops up, you might close it out before its had time apply your custom profile. I just wait till I see the fan value I've set for low pop up...maybe 2 seconds after the app shows so its not a major wait.

Night vision is fun to play with. Watching the sky at night, you see things moving so fast & so high you know it's special mil. You'd never see it without NVG.
I served with the 173rd Airborne infantry. I wasn't a sniper, I was a heavy machine gunner, but we had snipers attached to us as forward observers. The one shot rule is one of the first things they teach you for sure.

US Army infantryman here. Not a sniper, or scout platoon of any sort, but we had a drill Sgt in OSUT who was a sniper. While teaching us advanced marksmanship in our CTA in preparation for our final FTX, he gave us a class on stalking as a kind of aggressive O/S strategy. He said ideally, they'll never know you're there. Stalking is usually just Intel gathering. However on operations where taking a shot is necessary or a mission objective - you shoot once and don't move. Snipers almost always work in pairs so if you're compromised you'll always have at least someone to help you get out of there. This was a whole ass class we were given so it's hard to condense into one comment lol. If you have questions hmu I'll be glad to answer if I can.
I just graduated sniper school in the US army about 5 months ago and yes they do teach us that its harder to detect a single shot rather than multiple. Not so much just that, but there is also an old saying for snipers, "move 10 times, shoot once".

29:40 he walks by where I used to hide my loot, that cliff side is difficult to traverse enough to where the average player would never think to look. Plus if you navigate along the cliff side there’s a spot with a bush that has a sort of pocket where u can put boxes and barrels for loot. I had groups I played with but for pvp I preferred to go solo since sometimes teammates are a liability lol. Great spot if u don’t have the time or need to build a base but still need a good stash spot
from episode to episode this gets more interesting and takes me back to DayZ mod days when some friends and me would observe camps for days just to find the perfect moment and take out all the players.

80C is normal for 2000 series cards btw. My 2070 runs at 80C and i asked Gigabyte and they said it was completely normal :P
Not normal lol. My EVGA 2080 Ultra XC tops at 68c and I have it OCed even more than the stock OC. Set your fans people

Not an issue if you're running the card hard for 4-5 years....might become an issue if you're running it like that for 6+ years. Again, I don't disagree, you're not doing your GPU any disservice running in the 80c range (especially these last few years of cards) and there are other things more likely to be the demise of the card if it even gets used for 5+ years.
I have my original ATI Radeon 9700pro in a running machine still, its my first self built PC and my second oldest GPU at 18 years old...That thing got pushed hard for Doom 3 and HL2's orginal releases plus UT2003 and 2004 but its still plugging away like it did all those years ago (to the best of my recollection that is :)).

The thing that I've always loved about DayZ is just how damn realistic a firefight can get. Man I just wish other games had this kind of attention to detail and the kinds of scenarios you find yourself in in DayZ.
***Using your custom fan curve without Afterburner running in the background***
You can tell Afterburner to apply your overclock and custom fan curves upon windows startup (Afterburner has to start with Windows too). Once Windows loads in and Afterburner loads up your profiles, you can just close it out and the profiles run in memory. Every time you boot the system, you have to wait for afterburner to load the profiles, but that is really the only inconvenience. I only say wait because if you close the app as soon as it pops up, you might close it out before its had time apply your custom profile. I just wait till I see the fan value I've set for low pop up...maybe 2 seconds after the app shows so its not a major wait.
The editing in this video is perfect. Not overdone, just where it was needed. The contrast between your forest fire and some guy gorging himself on cereal until he throws up at a trading station was too funny to me.

Night vision is fun to play with. Watching the sky at night, you see things moving so fast & so high you know it's special mil. You'd never see it without NVG.
In MSI Afterburner there is an option for it to start with your PC, My Graphics card used to do a similar thing and this fixed it nicely.
I served with the 173rd Airborne infantry. I wasn't a sniper, I was a heavy machine gunner, but we had snipers attached to us as forward observers. The one shot rule is one of the first things they teach you for sure.

I've never actually had dayz crash on Xbox. Maybe just got lucky. But I have definitely dealt with so many other issues.
US Army infantryman here. Not a sniper, or scout platoon of any sort, but we had a drill Sgt in OSUT who was a sniper. While teaching us advanced marksmanship in our CTA in preparation for our final FTX, he gave us a class on stalking as a kind of aggressive O/S strategy. He said ideally, they'll never know you're there. Stalking is usually just Intel gathering. However on operations where taking a shot is necessary or a mission objective - you shoot once and don't move. Snipers almost always work in pairs so if you're compromised you'll always have at least someone to help you get out of there.
This was a whole ass class we were given so it's hard to condense into one comment lol. If you have questions hmu I'll be glad to answer if I can.

I just graduated sniper school in the US army about 5 months ago and yes they do teach us that its harder to detect a single shot rather than multiple. Not so much just that, but there is also an old saying for snipers, "move 10 times, shoot once".

29:40 he walks by where I used to hide my loot, that cliff side is difficult to traverse enough to where the average player would never think to look. Plus if you navigate along the cliff side there’s a spot with a bush that has a sort of pocket where u can put boxes and barrels for loot. I had groups I played with but for pvp I preferred to go solo since sometimes teammates are a liability lol. Great spot if u don’t have the time or need to build a base but still need a good stash spot
