I bought one of these to use as a backup phone while my oneplus 12 was being repaired and its still fucking incredible. Especially since I got mine for 200 USD open box in pretty much new condition, with the original box and accessories. It's ridiculous how modern this phone still feels. It was still plenty fast enough for daily use (also helped by the fact it's the 12gb RAM version, still flagship ram quantity), the display was incredible of course, and the battery life was insane on crDroid, almost on par with my 12. The cameras were probably what made me miss my 12 the most, but they were still pretty serviceable with gCam. I should also mention the exterior design of the phone is simply beautiful. The 12 in green gets close but still can't match it IMO. Recently took some time to time to replace the broken front facing camera on my wife’s old OP 7 Pro. It’s still a perfectly good backup phone and it’s amazing how fluid that thing still runs on Android 12 compared to modern flagship phones.
One thing I've known over the years is that if people start looking back towards older products, it's generally a sign that the industry is in stagnation. No matter be it cars, computers, phones whatever.

I got a used OnePlus 7 Pro in 2022 and only recently replaced it since the selfie camera stopped working but this is honestly one of it not my favourite phone I've ever used. The fact that notchless displays haven't become a mainstay in smartphones today still baffles me, especially since I've always kind of hated notches and holepunches (although I have gotten used to the one on my Pixel 7). The pop-up selfie camera was also genius and also made for a pretty cool party trick. I still remember my younger cousins and my friends being blown away when showing it to them for the first time. This is just my kind of tech RUclips videos! I'm really liking these old smartphones nostalgia videos you are reviewing they are crazy good! I loved the LG V30 video so much! I loved that phone to the core, the design and everything! Same with Xperia. Never stop making this!! I scrolled a bit on the channel and the thumbnails are so eye-catching and the videos are worth it! I really love how the video colors are edited! First saw you on Android Police! Bring other nostalgic devices like the iPhone X, Samsung S8/S9, HTC, Huawei, etc. Keep up the great work!
I had one until two weeks ago, when Australia's telcos blocked it from their networks. It was so good, so ahead of its time, that the only phone that I could consider its equal in the modern age is the S24 Ultra, and even then I'm sorely missing the alert slider.
hello sir Noah. I had a Xiaomi Mi9T Pro glacier blue, w/pop-up camera too, metal frame, back glass cover, 6.39 AMOLED display. For the past 5 years, I've taking care of this phone very well. Up today the device still look new and smooth.
Watching from my 7t pro, 4yrs old with a new replaced battery and android 15 custom ROM. Bumping the screentime usage from 2hrs to 5hrs+, feels like new phone.
In my top 8 smartphone of all time. I adore this phone. Genuinely blew my mind when I had it. Just got one a month ago just to mess around with while at home and the memories flooded back in.
Loved my OnePlus 7 Pro, only thing I wasn't too pleased about was the burn in, that was quite prominent months into ownership. Thermal throttling and adhesive getting into the motorised camera, which caused a few issues. I'd love to see this form factor come back though..
The only thing keeping me from still using this phone was the lack of a MicroSD slot. I instead gave it to a friend who, as far as I know, still uses it to this day.
I absolutely loved the OnePlus 7 Pro, and even moreso the 7T Pro... even though I was scared that selfie camera would break over time 😅 I completely agree that the 7 Pro and 7T Pro were peak OnePlus, if we're talking about an 'enthusiast' focused phone. But the 8 Pro was their first TRUE flagship. Which is understandable... after all, 90% of tech reviewers constantly said they wanted OnePlus to add ALL the flagship feaures to their phone. And they did. They added everything that people wished the 7 Pro had: wireless charging, an IP68 rating, base model 5G support, and flagship-quality cameras.
The whole of 7 series was the ultimate product they had in a long time...still using the 7T for almost 6 years now...works just like the day I bought it.❤
I like my pixel 3, I just bought it again from China, but I realize yesterday in Amazon it is available used. The size, the fingerprint and the facility to install custom roms made me got it again.
I really, really loved my 7 Pro. It was always easy to make conversation with it, it was a fun a fun phone. But the screen burn in after extended use was less than ideal. If I still had it I'd probably use it but you get the point.
Wireless charging is the only feature that i never felt like i need to use it! My elder brother who is an expert in this matter told me wireless charging shortens battery health faster than charging via cable and over heats more! I'm pretty sure in the global south people don't use this feature!
I remember when this came out and it was my dream phone to get. At that time, I couldn't afford it and had to settle for the budget Nokia 7 plus. I was extremely happy with my purchase until the charging port issues plagued my device and basically killed it.
As a previous owner of one, I can say I loved that phone. I only traded it because the battery was starting to get bad and the software updates. The only thing that annoyed me was the auto-brightness.
When I got the OP12 I was happy to finally get an alert slider... But then only realised the location of the slider when I got the phone, and... Urgh...
It was an amazing phone, I had it for 3 years. The only reason I don't use it anymore was the screen cracked and battery capacity faded. Got the oneplus 9 pro now, it does everything slightly better
my wife had this and until now my looks good and front popout is still working I also had one but amoled burd, dead pixel and crack ruins it after intensive gaming. This is a good phone I hope oneplus or nothing makes another one with popout front cam and even bezels with newer oled panels that is less prone to burn in
I still use the 7 Pro as my daily driver for five years now. I would like to update to a newer smartphone (like the upcoming OnePlus 13 or a Pixel 9 Pro) but I can't get rid of this 7 Pro because there is no equivalent: this Infinite Display is nowhere else to be found and man, this Nebula Blue color still stunning in 2024. It's a shame that smartphone manufacturers stop innovating like OnePlus did at that time. I just pray the battery lasts a little longer until I decide to switch for good... Thank you for this video dedicated to this unforgettable phone.
I had to replace my OP7 Pro this year because after last year's software update it became a nightmare to use. During my 4 years of usage it became obvious that each big Android update from OnePlus was adding bloat and removed features I actually used. On top of that the usb port was always disconnecting when trying to connect it to my pc and sometimes during charging I had to press the cable at a certain angle which meant that installing custom roms over my pc was not happening. That being said I really liked it while it was on Android 9.
I recently bought one from China, but it appeared to be a very-very poor refubrished one, and I had to send it back. But just holding it in hands for two days, even tho it was unusable, gave me so much joy, just because it looks and feels SO GOOD
Wow, you're basically covering the phones I had. I had bith an LG v35 Thinq (stupis name) AND a Oneplus 7t pro Mclaren. I suppose it could be that there is a large overlap between these niche and the tool phone crowd. The 7t pro is still my favorite phone of all time. The screen is crazy and I still prefer it to my s24 Ultra.
I got it for my father this year in January, and he loves it. Although he isn't able to deal with the curved edges, he's planning to get a used iPhone 15 due to his unwillingness to spend the full amount on a new one. I wish they resurrected that design instead of the generic-looking 13, which even did away with that patterned green color.
I'm daily rockin both 7t pro and 7 pro. Commenting on 7t pro btw. As long as i couldn't get another phone that looks this good, feels this good, I'll never change
i had one. The screen for the OP7P was kind of notorious from burn in. Mine got burn in after only one year of use. I ended up switching to a Note 20 Ultra, then an S22U, to now a Pixel 8 Pro. I plan on switching back to Samsung when they release the S25 Ultra in January. I will admit the OP 12 Pro looks really enticing from the leaks, unfortunately AT&T doesn't carry OnePlus devices.
My mate still has one of these and it's still one of the most futuristic looking phones I see out and about. Makes the other Android flagship with their pin hole cameras look a bit low tech and really shames the big notches you get on iPhones. I was a bit sceptical about having a mechanical piece of hardware in a phone that you could drop or bump into something but they seem to be lasting better than the software and screens.
Using OP7 right now, except battery that is working for 2 hours or 3 max, without changing, it's a great phone, + i has to change the screen 2 years ago because original has died and Started flickering. So exept all this the performance and form factor is super handy and beautiful love it❤
The screen burn in was also something OnePlus had an issue since the 7 series. I and my friend were also very gentle with our phones but till the 9 Pro we both managed to burn in the display somehow. This was horrible since under normal use it shouldn't happen. I was like horrified when I experienced this and something like this only happend on all of my samsung devices when I passed out from being drunk and leave some app open like RUclips or Spotify.. But on OnePlus.. it just happened over and over again and that's why I switched back to Samsung. Even my Huawei P30 Pro didn't had issues when I played PSP emulator and the buttons were quite bright.
In 2020 I was choosing between this and Samsung note 10 plus I got the note it's working great I loved the s-pen tricks and the plenty of accessories available but I still feel little regret that I didn't get the op 7 I thought there would be more phones like this , didn't know they would discontinue this beautiful design
I never got a 7, I was still using my Oneplus 6 at the start of this year though. I ended up going with a Fairphone 5 after it's usb port got fried, literally I think my charging cable developed a short. After a a couple months that showed that apparently all usb-c audio adapters use garbage cables that don't last a week in your pocket with a job that involves near constant walking I got myself a Fiio BTR-15 and have been happy since.

Man I just wanna take a sec to appreciate the quality and effort you are putting into these soft, clean, neat, well filmed, colored and mainly quality content and take on the smartphone and other gadgets.
Bumping the screentime usage from 2hrs to 5hrs+, feels like new phone.
one of the few soft-spoken creators left on this app. im not even looking to buy a phone lol, this energy is so relaxing
The headphone jack and memory card slot are both missing, I ignored it from the get-go
I love seeing all these cameos and mentions of my favorite youtubera
In my top 8 smartphone of all time. I adore this phone. Genuinely blew my mind when I had it. Just got one a month ago just to mess around with while at home and the memories flooded back in.
I was waiting for such a Video💯🔥
The whole of 7 series was the ultimate product they had in a long time...still using the 7T for almost 6 years now...works just like the day I bought it.❤
the camera module still holds-up until this day
I like my pixel 3, I just bought it again from China, but I realize yesterday in Amazon it is available used.
I only use it once the charging port goes out. Sucks the 7 Pro didn't get it...
Urgh...
I saw this phone selling for 320 USD in Akihabara. I think it was sitting on a shelf in a used electronic store last week
The OnePlus 7 Pro was the first phone which popularised the now must-have feature on the phone is 'refresh rate of 90 Hz'
I would take Burn-in any day of the week rather than my ugly Greenlines 🤲🏻
I wish they resurrected that design instead of the generic-looking 13, which even did away with that patterned green color.
damnnnn i remember that phone it was pretty solid man, the quality of pics is so crisp
Absence of usb 3.0 in OnePlus 10t 11t 12t was a big loss
There are no phones like 11t , 12t
T was replaced with R after 10 series
@boringman383 yes sorry "R" my bad
@@mrinaldutta1812 it's okay mate
I have a friend that still uses it as his daily to this day since 2019
My mate still has one of these and it's still one of the most futuristic looking phones I see out and about.
So exept all this the performance and form factor is super handy and beautiful love it❤
And yes it was a burned screen on the second screen to right now, ofc it's not critical but unfortunat, if u know u know 😮💨
Charging port went out on mine too, in addition to the other things you described.
Back when flagship phones felt like a real flagship
In 2020 I was choosing between this and Samsung note 10 plus I got the note it's working great I loved the s-pen tricks and the plenty of accessories available but I still feel little regret that I didn't get the op 7 I thought there would be more phones like this , didn't know they would discontinue this beautiful design
8 pro fixed both of these things (ip rating and wireless charge), you should see how that phone is 4 years later
op 8 pro is auraless compared to 7 pro, if we contestualize the period it came out
@bugsbunny3400 no? it was the company's first phone that actually fixed most of the problems they used to have
Never saw one in the wild but that blue man… so gorgeous.
The one plus 7 pro and the mi mix 3 slider was peak for me
I had one. Now I have exact modern copy of that phone Honor Magic6 Pro, even dimensions are 99% same
I still have and use mine from time to time, the Nebula Blue color. This is one phone i can't part ways with, so far ahead of its time.
still have mine. can't beat no camera holes!
My favourite smartphone of all time. My one friend still using it as it's main phone and my OnePlus 7 is still working fine
