Redmi K20 Pro was spiritual successor to the Poco F1,a legendary but crude product. In contrast, the K20 Pro was a big improvement in every regard from multiple cameras and an OLED screen to the "full screen" design.Back in the day when I was rocking the F1 and this phone arrived a year later,I was literally kicking myself for not waiting for the K20 instead.
PS - People often forget about the underrated vanilla K20 which aside from settling for a slower chip, charging speeds and slightly inferior ultrawide lens than its more cherished bigger sibling came at a notably lesser price, which I then thought was a great deal too.

    K20 Pro
    A good custom Rom
    GCam
    Overclocked Screen (upto 90Hz)
And I'm still daily driving this without a hiccup 5.5yrs later. Has everything I can ask for and things I can't get even in latest flagships (unlimited google photos, viper/dolby for audio, auto call recording, fully bezel less screen...and make UI customisations since Android 11)

I've been an android early adopter, and I had a lot of phones over the years, including the first Samsung note and the first 1+. This is the phone that lasted me the longest and I bought it back then just casually, I wasn't looking for a flagship which by then became way too expensive, I was just looking for a usable phone. Except the first 1+, which was exceptional, this is the best phone I ever used, even just for longevity. Also, with earlier phones I tinkered a lot and went through roms. I have never felt the need for this as it is still crunching through every day usage.

I remember really wanting this phone when it was new. Unfortunately it wasn't available with 512 GB storage in my country, and 256 GB just wasn't enough for me. So I went for Asus Zenfone 6 instead. It was a great phone. Same screen size as this Xiaomi (I actually used the glass screen protectors made for this on my Zenfone, fitted perfectly). Zenfone 6 was a killer phone, 5000 mAh battery (very big for 2019), and the screen with no cutout was just beautiful, even when it was just LCD, not OLED. That phone worked perfectly for me, I used it for 3-4 years. Snapdragon 855 is plenty powerful even to this day, and the flip up camera was a great party trick. Unfortunately my Zenfone 6 died, probably due to some motherboard issue, I would probably use it to this day if it worked. I think that this Zenfone is also worth revisiting. A great phone from the era when we could get phones with no in display cutout for selfie camera. We sadly can't get these anymore these days really, there are some with in-display hidden camera, but those phones are not mainstream and the camera is pretty bad because the technology still isn't perfected

What about battry backup on miui 12.5? Any lag

    • @vishu_296
      @vishu_296 День назад

@@fashionhouse-oj6je Its still on the same battery that it came with in July 2019, never had it replaced so its not the absolute best but I can still get through a whole day easily without ever having to worry about it running out. I just charge it once per day to about 80-90% and that's enough even when I am gonna be using things like Android Auto and stuff on it throughout the day.
No lag whatsoever, its completely fluid and smooth, all gestures work brilliantly though after bootups it takes about 10-15 to load all its elements correctly so in that small time period it sometimes feels less responsive but after that, its perfect smooth.
Part of the reason that I haven't upgraded from it is because I really don't have any issues with it. And having gotten so used to the full screen with no cutouts, its difficult to go for something else.

i bought mine in november 2019. i´ve used it until last month when i changed it for a poco f6 pro. I didnt change because it was slow or anything like that. It was just that the battery didnt last me a full day. It was by far the best phone i had in my life.

I'm watching this video using my regular Mi 9. Few weeks ago it became lagging so bad that i can't use it. I was searching for a new phone and so overwhelmed by many choices these days. So i decided to learn how to flash it and install the PixelOS rom, and it was the best decision. It works very wonderful and so snappy, just like a new phone, pixel specifically.
I believe this phone can handle at least 1 or more years from now, hopefully.

I had it up until 2022 and loved it. The Xiaomi software was effectively the downside but indeed a powerful device, eventually installed the Pixel experience but this made the phone not efficient as a main device since basically all the banks/debit card applications would not run on a device with an unlocked bootloader.
Had to revert to a stock image and after a while switched to another device.
But man I miss that phone.

I really miss those days, flashing roms, trying to get different things like Gcam and etc going on different phones. Life moves so fast now I never feel like I have time for that sort of thing anymore but back when I had a couple android geek friends we would literally have the time of our lives comparing roms, overclocking CPU’s and shit 💀💀 phones are so good now though it doesn’t feel like a necessity.

Always wanted one. But by the time I was ready to buy a backup phone, it was out of stock. Bought the 10T Pro instead. A bit of a step backwards in terms of auxiliary cameras and selfie camera, but that one came with a honking huge 1/1.3" 108MP main sensor with an unusual 4-into-1 binning set-up that output 27MP images (rather than the 12 that most "108MP" sensors did. While this made photo save times excruciatingly slow, it also meant that the native resolution in the API was 27MP rather than the 12MP that most big sensors default to. Which means that you can video in 6k60fps on third party apps like Filmic. Which is astounding for a budget phone from four years ago.

The K20 Pro is the best phone ever made. I am not even joking, just straight up the greatest value to have ever existed. I hate MIUI but I could get around that very easily and that made it an insane phone. Also, it got a lot of community support with good custom roms as well as camera ports that didn't ruin the processing.

I still use Mi 9T PRO, it is android 11 right now which is the latest official update for it. And there's no software compatibility issues which you said at 3:37. Meanwhile, all other phones with android 14 and 15 really have the software compatibility issues, it is a fact that many apps/games in playstore can't be installed in those phones.
Having the latest OS version isn't always the best. And I'll be more happy if I know how to downgrade to android 10 or 9 because more apps/games will become available in playstore.

What made us buy this was the Pearl White option, that thing looked like OnePlus! But the only thing missing with this was water resistance. My partner's phone died because it fell into the water and got screwed immediately.
It wasn't just a decent camera, with the GCam mod it was very capable! I was considering modding it with Pixel experience before it died.
