Imma pass on this one. It's a Stellantis product that was sourced from the 2L I4 Hurricane which started life as a midsized sedan and small crossover engine. Fiat did this with the EcoDiesel, which was originally built for the same application (more diesels overseas than the US) when they put them in the Jeeps and 1500. The cranks would flex because they couldn't handle the torque very well, and a lot of them would blow out the bottom ends of the engines from it. We'll have to see how they hold up in the 1500s.

Sure you can get charging in major cities but when you go out to the boondocks and on 10 percent charge your done for. All manufacturers should have followed Toyota and master hybrid technology. A Tesla in minus 20 degree weather is one hell of a paper weight going nowhere.

Another thing I thought about, which is kind of ironic, is Stellantis owns Maserati which has the F154. As bad as Maserati and Ferrari are, those engines are pretty stout from what I've heard. It's the cars themselves that seem to be the weak point. Ferrari has used them in applications that broke past 700 HP before, and the Levante is rated at almost 600. The Maseratis get pretty bad fuel economy, but considering that GM was able to get 25 MPG out of the 4.2L Blackwing in the CT6 and did with the car having AWD and being more of a boat than the Charger I think the potential for improvements is definitely there. Ridgitify it a bit more, and with the right tune it would be a better fit for high HP and HD applications just purely based on the fact that there are two extra cylinders to take up some of the load. If I were them I would keep the I6 at 550 HP and make a F154 based 4.0L V8TT for up to 650 HP. It would satisfy the Mopar fans, and the truck folks would be maybe a tiny bit relieved to at least have the extra liter of displacement to play with from a longevity standpoint.

The turbo 6 is gonna be gutless on take off until turbos spool. Ntm the 6 will never sound as good nor have the capability or torque of the 8 on take off. The 8's better no matter the circumstance. Knuckle draggers dogging turbo 6's don't know history . Waaay back in the day it was more cylinders more power ( way up to 16 cyl) and v8's became a cheap alternative that became power . Fast forward today and you have 4 cylinder cars with as much if not more power than most V8's from late 60's to early 2000's with less maintenance. Basically a modern turbo V6 would smoke a V8 from 66 to 2016 and all you have to do is change the oil every 3-5k and maybe air filter . Hell my old azz 528 turbo 4 makes more power than most V8's from 70 to early 2000's lol🤦🏽. The height of ICE tech was WW2 aircraft engines all they've done is find ways to get them into family cars.
