Battlefield 1 Soundtrack: Apocalypse Spawn Themes

- In the case of these tracks maybe death theme is much more appropriate. These are the spawn menu themes for the three infantry Apocalypse maps, Caporetto, Passchendaele and the Somme River. Truly haunting. Screenshots are by me.
All credit goes to DICE, namely Patrik Andrén and Johan Söderqvist who composed the Battlefield Soundtrack.
The whispering chants are so creepy I love it. It really fits the theme of “apocalypse.” It’s unimaginable how these young men must have felt fighting such a horrible war. It’s simply indescribable. Few people will ever face the hardship and the level of fear that they did.

All I can think of is the aftermath of pure carnage.
Battle of the Somme 1916 - 1.5 Million causalities in total
Battle of Passchendaele 1917 - 585,000 causalities in total
Battle of Cappireto 1917 - 375,000 causalities in total
Total deaths between just these three battles. 2,460,000 causalities.
Lest we forget
Don't forget about verdun, estimated 1 million casualties.
All I can think of is Luke Skywalker looking over the horizon, at the two sunsets.
*And don't forget the lunch breaks in the trench because why not its pretty boring sitting in a trench all day but eating a sandwich in a trench is kind of fun though*

It was 700,000 casualties in verdun, not 1 million
This Spawn theme at 10:28 makes me think of some soldiers being traumatized while staring blankly like they’re dead, while you see other soldiers looking like they don’t know anymore and being weak, the wounded screaming for their lives afraid to die and wanting to come home.
Medics in need and tattered Soldiers in disarray.
I played on Passchendaele for the first time recently, and I distinctly remember going from "this map is fucking insane" to "holy shit this used to be a village" to "Jesus fucking Christ this actually happened".
I was tearing up when I reached the final realization.
yeah it didnt happen totally like what happens in bf1 but theres no doubt that entire countrysides and villages got reduced to cratered zones reminiscent of the moon

Hendrik Coquet i heard whispers when i was in the load menu. I made a theory that those were the dead coming back to haunt those that fought on the grounds OR its psychological trauma from soldiers during the war.

I think it's awesome hearing the noise at 0:00 when you die on Passchendale. I've had some epic deaths of taking like 10 gunshots almost like my soldier is refusing to die, my screen full of blood to where I can barely see anything, and being able to take 3-4 enemies with me before I finally go down.
1:43 has to be my favorite. Gives me the feel of the carnage.

12:04 I heard this one earlier while playing river somme before spawning in and I’ve never heard it before needless to say it was such a touching song that just made me play the rest of that game with a entirely different mindset of “people actually had to fight this war they actually had to make it through this and then afterwards try to live like it had never even happened in normal society” and about all the casualties in these types of battles

It sounds so dark and evil at the beginning but then it sounds tragic and sad later.

There is no way this is from a FPS game...I swear it has to be from a horror game (jk I know this was all composed, but it's spoopy...with the exception of 12:05 sounding like Star Wars but still awesome)
Glad I wasn't the only one who heard the first few notes of the force theme there. Also depending on where you look, star wars can be just as grim.
Its not Star Wars, its the original Battlefield theme, made in 2001.

And it was all for nothing, the traumatizing screams of the damned on a blood soaked battle field wasn't enough for just one war of pure hell on earth, and so many had to fight in it just for their countries thought of the right of way.
