In this video I will be addressing a viewer’s question and then extending it to “kind of” get a possible 24 sounds from the 8 User Program Memories.
To be honest, it would be much easier to create 8 User Programs and then save them to a flash drive to be used. It is much easier to do it this way and then have a collection of User Programs to select from. This video is simply to help show you how the Roland FR-1x uses its memory and how you can get it to “do what you want it to and not what it wants to do”. Sometimes using a “bigger hammer” is not the best way to get something done (as in this case).
For this demo I created a New User Set with the Accordion being changed to a Studio Accordion. I kept the Master at register 2A. I changed the Orchestral by putting the Tenor Sax 2 in register 3A. I then saved this new User Set to U1. At that point I had access to everything I needed and in the order that I needed it. I went to User Set U1 and set the accordion to the 2A register, then to the orchestral setting and selected 3A and went back to the Accordion. At this point I save my settings to User Program U1A.
You could then change to a different accordion set (say 3-4), which will give you a different set of accordion and orchestral sounds (in a different order), put together a different User Program and save it to User Program U1B. When you select U1B you will have new accordion, orchestral and organ sounds that would have been set when you saved the User Program U1B. Continuing in this fashion, you could end up with 24 different sounds from the accordion.
Note: This is Way To Much Work! Use it the way the programmers designed. This video is for educational purposes only!

I want to work on changing my Bass and Chord arrangements. I watched Dale's video on the sounds he's programmed into the 4X with 7 switches. I have Dales's 4X and a non- Dale's 1X. That's what I'm going to work on today. Any thoughts

I have an interesting thought. If you look at the 1x editor, you can open the 7x editor. What do you think will happen if you create a 7x set, import a base register into the 1x and then try that set. I have not done this video yet, but it is on my list of "things to do". Hope you had fun today, let me know how it went.

Hymm. I'm going to take a look at that. I know that I can use the 1x editor to at least put a cello on the bass side

The Fr1x and 7X editor shows the same Bass and Chord button instruments. There’s new choices but still no 16’piano, string bass, jazz guitar or organ.

making both a Bass and Chord button a piano would be cool

Try the vintage EP as a Bass button
