Hi there, just found your channel and love it! Do you have a video showing how you and Mr Boo came to be in Villefranche, your apartment etc? Would love to see this! Take care both…….
It didn't go well for you, all that rain doesn't make it any more fun. Camping is a lot of fun as long as the weather cooperates. Still, it was a fun video and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
I slept for years on inflatable mattresses without problem. The ones that worked for me are the ones from Intex and the self inflating (pumpless) thin mattress from AS adventure. Indeed, better get 2 separate ones unless you go for the double and very thick one from Intex. These mattresses have a lot of internal rigidity. The tent is way too small. A big Decathlon tent is the size of a larger sports bag. Dont know if it would fit in or on top of your car. Btw: decathlon sponsors online content creators with free stuff. Good content!
Yes it’s the sharing element not the air bed though those decathlon foam and air are much better I think and yes this tent is way too small but the ami roof is already under big pressure and the bigger tens are way heavier
I love camping, but you really need decent weather and more space to move in the tent. Impossible for you due to weight restrictions. The look of happiness on Mr Boo's face when you left said it all!
"Stuck in a plastic car with a farting chihuahua" should be the subtitle to your chanel. Would be great marketing lettered on Elton, or the back of the Me and mon Ami t-shirt. You are welcome😅
If your looking for a compact lightweight tent that you can stand up in and has bags of room with a vestibule you can sit in with a table and chairs look at the GALAXY VANGO 300.

Not on the stuff we film secretly on the meta rayban glasses and that changes how you film as you can’t put a tent up whilst holding a camera or film in restaurants with other people around.
Hi Tim, we are picking up a car from a rental place near the airport on Monday at 11. We can be at the car park where you took delivery of Elton at about 12.30 if that’s ok with you.
25 years ago my wife and I plus collie dog, rode our bikes, with trailer, from Roscoff to Antibes. we had a tent just a bit bigger than yours but for sleeping mattresses we had, 'any surface mats' which easily rolled up to a manageable size, these had a layer of memory foam in the middle which allowed it to self inflate when the bung was removed. More air could easily be added to personalise comfort. They worked out to be extremely comfortable on many varied surfaces. I think they were called 'Self inflating mattresses'. Original Eh? Twiggy's size hides a lot of toxic potential. Why has nobody employed dog farts in chemical warfare? Safer than tear gas? Might be hard to harvest, though.
At 15 minutes I thought it was my previous van Bert arriving a Tabbert 570, but it was a cheap copy not a Tabbert. Shame you are not closer I've loads of spare camping equipment lots of it lightweight from days going to festivals in a 7 type kit car.
Hi, I hope you stick with the camping - it's very entertaining - though I feel for Mr Boo not sleeping. Perhaps should consider what to feed twiggy in the days before spending time in a tent with her !
2:54 - "We're stuck in a plastic car, that's raining in, with a farting chuahua." It am sorry for you to have to go through that, ... but it is entertaining watch :-)
There was one scene, when you returned to fetch in the towels, when Elton never looked more miserable with the whole affair. Sort of sums up the weather and Mr Boo's weary looks from not sleeping. Seeing as they have glamping pods there, those wooden structures, you could stay in one and do a day trips out and about and not have to worry about a) the weather, and b) a good nights sleep. Twiggers farts would of course have to be managed but I guess, at the risk of annoying Elton, she could stay in him?
bonsoir mes amis d'Espagne. I have already said the bald foodie guy who is also holidaying somewhere in France that he needs to come to Spain and the same applies to you - WE NEED THE RAIN.
Chaps, I just nipped to your older video of accessories you never take a trip without to check this one out, & have to ask, in the absence of a Type 2 to domestic socket 16A adapter (WiFi version/ non wifi) doe this limit charging even further or is it something you have considered to access a wider variety of chargers & adventuring with elton? (the cable fits around the door recess pretty well when I saw it used with an ami elsewhere)
Am in my 50's and I know I'd struggle in a tent like that now. Which is a bit sad. Am sure there is another way to be more comfy. It must be so frustrating to be enjoying everything you have there at the site and around about, yet dread bedtime.
You should buy a lightweight canopy to cover your car while it rains. You could park underneath it. In the United States, you can get one for $30 at Walmart. You could even set it up over your tent and chairs so that you can keep the rain off of you. Better yet you could get a gazebo that has screens on the sides.
@@MeandMonAmia cheap lidl or aldi gazebo? with detachable sides. you could shade your tent entrance or have a covered dining socialising area. great video. been to south of france and italian cote d'azur many times. lovely area. you are blessed to live and work there. each of your videos feel like a mini summer break. keep up good work. 👍
4M X4M light weight tarp will cover Elton and the tent and provide sun and rain protection - outdoor sitting area - transformations - more camping please ;-)
The trick with an airbed is to not fill it fully. Just enough to stop you hitting the ground when lying on it. That way you form a nice hollow and are supported all around and you don't then bounce around on top. It's surprising how little pressure is needed and just a bit of experimentation is needed to find the goldilocks inflation level.
Why don't you go for an air tent? As you said in your latest video, you're not allowed to rent a camper until you have a licence for two years, buy a roomy blow-up tent(and don't go so cheap!) and two matrasses with a build-in electric pump! Those beds are a bit thicker and very comfy! There are tents for sale that look like a small house, then you'll have space to put your stuff and have room to sit when it's raining! Okay they will cost, but after two years you can sell it! (If you still want to buy a campervan!).....it is much cheaper then going on a organised trip.... 😊❤🌈
@MeandMonAmi sorry, it has massive holes in it, not like a usual monocoque metal car. Do you know that the the worst place to camp in a lightening storm, is insude the mouth of a cliff cave. Perhaps that is why neanderthal troglodytes become extinct ?
I wonder how much those titchy chalet huts were compared with a camping pitch ? I think that double air mattress is always going to be a problem. Maybe self-inflating (ie foam filled) single mats ? It's what I use when backpacking. That campsite seems ideal for you folks in every other way. Cheers, Dave
You have been unlucky with the weather. Get a tunnel tent and a decent heavy duty woven ground sheet to stick underneath the tent (Takes the lumps out of the pitch) and decent depth air beds (4").Makes all the difference to a good nights sleep. What... £100 a day...a bit steep .. . for me in Brittany, 12 years ago, £60 a day all in, including pitch, leccy and meals (Home cooked) , petrol, EU car recovery, travel insurance and cross-channel ferries. (£800 for 14 days). And from what I can see this year, total cost for 14 days only increased. . £1100 The pitches in Brittany, on a three star site l are E25 tops per night in peak season with leccy. And the major part of the increase is pitch cost.
A lovely place, and who can't say tent camping makes for indelible memories? Stunning fly-over (24:45) of Saint Paul De Vence, and given your last ground-level taxi to "Tourist Hell" maybe the best way to enjoy it. Vouloir, c’est pouvoir!

Really beautiful drone shot at the end. How was the mosquito situation?
That was totally fine bizarrely. Worse here in villefranche.
11:48 I thought Mr Boo was going to find a squat toilet behind that door. :(
I know.. We had some on villefranche beach up to this year.
2:54 - "We're stuck in a plastic car, that's raining in, with a farting chuahua."
It am sorry for you to have to go through that, ... but it is entertaining watch :-)
We exist to please!;
We’ve been very very unlucky with weather. I think we just need a bigger tent or camping device
bonsoir mes amis d'Espagne. I have already said the bald foodie guy who is also holidaying somewhere in France that he needs to come to Spain and the same applies to you - WE NEED THE RAIN.
Won’t stop here! Actually July has been lovely but it even managed a few showers today for your de France !
Was it a quick brown fox jumping over the lazy moon ? 😂
I think so!
Most places in france have the standard two pin available but we use a Schuko adaptor in Italy
Am in my 50's and I know I'd struggle in a tent like that now. Which is a bit sad. Am sure there is another way to be more comfy. It must be so frustrating to be enjoying everything you have there at the site and around about, yet dread bedtime.
Yes the sleeping has to be resolved!
@@MeandMonAmi Bon courage pour la suite.
You should buy a lightweight canopy to cover your car while it rains. You could park underneath it. In the United States, you can get one for $30 at Walmart. You could even set it up over your tent and chairs so that you can keep the rain off of you. Better yet you could get a gazebo that has screens on the sides.
Funny you say that I was only looking at some this week. Need one that doesn’t attach to car really
I wonder how that would fare in stormy weather? If it was blowing about the camp site that could be a problem.
Thanks and yes the second night was way better softer (not sure Mr boo agrees!)
When is the next camping trip?
We’re hoping to head your way Italy soon!
Yup we’ve been looking at some amazing blow up tents that aren’t heavy but aren’t quite out yet. The decathlon big one is too heavy for Elton’s roof
Should have got aTravelodge !
Some interesting scientific safety advice. A plastic car does not provide you with a Faraday Cage in case of lightening.
A plastic car with metal frame!
@MeandMonAmi sorry, it has massive holes in it, not like a usual monocoque metal car.
Do you know that the the worst place to camp in a lightening storm, is insude the mouth of a cliff cave. Perhaps that is why neanderthal troglodytes become extinct ?
This is where caravans come to die 🤣😂🤣 priceless. Why did you not splash out and get one of those nice cabins?
We want to try real camping; though the cabins did look tempting. But if we are going to do long adventures they will be too expensive
Yup. Thos little huts were only kitchens and bathrooms I think but I shall do some research and yes, single mattresses of the foam and air kind!
What induced you to order a meal of raw beef in that drizzly weather? 😮😊
I love raw beef anytime!
£100 a day for two though including all meals. If we’d cooked ourselves it would have been about £20 a day for pitch
Not so much 'Carry on Camping' as 'Carry on Suffering'... rather you than me
We’ll crack it!
A lovely place, and who can't say tent camping makes for indelible memories? Stunning fly-over (24:45) of Saint Paul De Vence, and given your last ground-level taxi to "Tourist Hell" maybe the best way to enjoy it.
Vouloir, c’est pouvoir!
Indeed. I live the boules pitch area in Saint Paul on a sunny autumn day
Oh we are in a Political chi show ourselves but. I Think 🤔 We will be ok Lite always prevail s 🙏
Yeah, nahhh. 🙄😏
