    The great thing about Bruce. He is successful and wealthy but has a very focused "small" collection. Not 50k pieces of just common stuff, or duplicates that are stored away in closets, storage units and sheds like many collectors today. But 7000 unique pieces he carefully collected over the years, which are beautifully displayed...

    • @Anth230
      @Anth230 Год назад +3

      @@fast97z24 Of course he became recognized for the beach bomb. so what? But he still has a very specific collection and buys a lot of newer stuff mostly to give away. He has a very modestly sized collection for the space and money that he has. Not an over abundance of modern over produced stuff coming out of every corner ... 😂

    So cool. I like the fact that Bruce actually has fun with his collection and invites others to join in the fun. Some history--'My mom bought me a blue hot wheels cougar in 1968. It saw many sandboxes for a few years. I still have it today.

    I was six when Hot Wheels came out. There are full size car colours today that mimic some of the original Hot Wheels colours, that when I see them, they give me such a strong jolt of nostalgia it’s unbelievable!

    Sold Bruce a collection a few months back he's a wealth of knowledge. Best part is he is a genuine good person. What you saw in the interview is exactly how Bruce is. He's a historian when it comes to Hot Wheels.

    A number of years ago when ebay was young I decided to look up toys I had as a kid. I looked up hot wheels and some auctions for a salesmans sample case break came up and I bid on one, didnt win. Next night I bid on another, didnt win. Last night of auction bid on 2, won both. That led me on a 6-7 year buying spree and have a collection thats been sitting in my closet of about 100 for 10 years. Best one I got was an ice blue firebird with doorlines.

    I love HW and Matchbox, and while i collect them, i collect only models i truly love. 99% of those are real cars but remaining 1% are fantasy castings. I also collect models from other companies like ERA, Mini GT, Tomica and few mores, but i collect it because i like it. These days however there is to many fake collectors, people that buy as much as possible and re-sell them for higher pricers, there is even some youtubers (but thats to big and complicated story). Short point is, if you love something, do it. Collect it. If you are solo and you do not have kids, one day you will give your collection to the person you believe it deserve it. Sometimes its better tthat then to your own kids who do not respect and would just sell it away. It is nice to have hobby.

    Wrong, inflation did impact the price of Hot Wheels. For the last few years I've been building my son's Hot Wheel collection. They have been $1 each for years. In the last 6 months they jumped up to $1.25 a pop. If that's not inflation I don't know what is. A 25% increase is huge
