"Locomotion"is a 1962 written by American songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King.
There are many covers of Locomotion, but Little Eva's 1962 version made it famous.
Carole King recorded the song herself on her 1980 studio album Pearls: Songs of Goffin and King.
I was planning to play this song with my wife recently. Around the same time, drummer Kamada was thinking the same thing, so we decided to collaborate.
For that reason, I decided to finish this song with twin drums. Originally, twin drums were a common style in southern rock from the 70s, and I'm not sure if they would suit this song, but I've always wanted to try twin drums, so this was a worthwhile challenge.
I don't have any specific references, but if I had to say, I did refer to the live version of this song by Carole King and a guest player.
Slash from Guns n Roses was playing as a guest, but I didn't really use it as a reference.
However, my wife said that she used the video of her as a reference for that dance.
Due to that influence, I made the guitar solo longer than usual.
For these reasons, I decided to perform this time not with the atmosphere of the studio version, but with the roughness of performing in front of an audience at a live venue.
As always, our performances are filmed and recorded live using multiple cameras.
If you watch this video and enjoy it, we will be very happy.
P.S.
There was a terrible earthquake in Japan, but we are doing well.
In case there are some people who are worried, I will write it here.

Locomotion lyrics
[Verse 1]
Everybody's doin' a brand new dance now
Come on baby, do the locomotion
I know you'll get to like it if you give it a chance now
Come on baby, do the locomotion
My little baby sister can do it with ease
It's easier than learning your ABC's
So come on, come on, do the locomotion with me
[Bridge]
You gotta swing your hips now
Come on baby, jump up, whoo, jump back
Oh well I think you've got the knack, whoa
[Verse 2]
Now that you can do it, let's make a chain now
Come on baby, do the locomotion
Chug-a chug-a motion like a railroad train now
Come on baby, do the locomotion
Do it nice and easy now and don't lose control
A little bit of rhythm and a lot of soul
Come on, come on, do the locomotion with me
[Verse 3]
Move around the floor in a locomotion
Come on baby, do the locomotion
Do it holdin' hands if you get the notion
Come on baby, do the locomotion
There's never been a dance that's so easy to do
It even makes you happy when you're feeling blue
So come on, come on, do the locomotion with me

Come on, do the locomotion
Do the locomotion
Come on, do the locomotion
Oh baby
Come on, do the locomotion
Do the locomotion
Come on
I said yeah yeah yeah yeah
Come on, do the locomotion
Do the locomotion
Come on, do the locomotion
Do the locomotion
Come on, do the locomotion
Yeah yeah
Come on, do the locomotion
I said come on, come on, do the locomotion with me

What a great version of this classic. Love it! Stu
I feel like it ended up being a bit of a rock arrangement. I don't know if it was appropriate for this song. Ryo
Well done everyone. I saw Grand Funk Railroad last year, and they played this as part of the show. (How could they not?) People were dancing in the aisles!
Did you go to a Grand Funk show? That's wonderful. Certainly, their concerts are sure to be fun. Ryo
@@theshinelightrespect2000 Yes. I saw them last August. While Mark Farner no longer is with them (he hasn't been since the late '90s), the other two original members (Don Brewer on drums, Mel Schacher on bass) still tour; Brewer turned 75 last September, but he looked and acted much younger. The current lead singer is Max Carl, who spent a few years with .38 Special in the mid-to-late '80s (he was lead singer and co-writer of their ballad "Second Chance"). The lead guitarist when I saw them was Bruce Kulick (who was in KISS from 1984-1996), but he left the band last December.
Yes, it was a really good show.
