- In today's video, I explain the Star Wars Legends back story to Carnor Jax from Star Wars Expanded Universe. Carnor Jax was an Imperial Sovereign Protector and aspiring Sith Lord who made a bid for the vacant Imperial throne. Jax was the second apprentice to the self-proclaimed Dark Lord of the Sith, Lumiya, and served her after the deaths of Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

Early Legends really likes these redhead assassins...
Long live the empire!
Pity we didn't see more of Jax's uses of the force, not ridiculous feats but just a touch more of something.
Crimson Empire is absolutely awesome!
Man, Crimson Empire was the gateway drug for me to get into the EU when I was a kid. Thank you for this one.
same - one of the first comic books i got, or at least the one i remembered the most. i bought the omnibus of crimson empire a couple years ago, and it definitely stands up
Also, Crimson Empire covers are the most epic looking thing Star Wars has ever Star Warsd.
very much agreed
Did you know new canon recently killed off Sate Pestage and Ars Dangor 😮 Now we know why canon post-ROTJ era is so different. 😂
Needed a video like this, always wondered who Carnor was. Had heard about him before but this helped quite a lot!
Sun Guard Black Series figure soon please? But besides wishing for the impossible, great video, one of my favorite comics to read growing up. The Red Royal Guard were criminally underused.
Man you're pumping these vids out! Great work! Possible to make a vid overviewing the TIE pilot ranks and designations? Thanks
It's impressive that Jax managed to take down the most powerful Sith Lord in a thousand years and Sidious never even suspected his involvement. The plan was perfect except for the Physician's survival. If not for that, it's likely the Royal Guard might have even supported Jax.
That and the unforeseeable actions of R2 D2 altering the Eclipse II's NavComp data so it jumped into the Galaxy Gun causing it to discharge into Byss. A humble Astromech droid shattered Jax's best hopes of ruling the galaxy completely unintentionally by destroying two Superweapons, the Shadow Hand Armada above Byss and the Throneworld with all of Sidious's accumulated Sith knowledge-preventing Jax from truly rising to the levels of power of Vader and the Emperor. We know Jax had planned to get rid of Lumiya around this time as he was getting secret instruction on the side by Sarcev Quest and made overtures to Kanos to rule beside him, telling Kanos he could help him harness the rage that blinded him, potentially hinting at Kanos having some Force sensitivity.
As it was, Jax couldn't cow the Warlords without the resources of Byss and the Superweapons, so they went rogue again and ignored him. He couldn't achieve mastery of the Darkside without the Sith Lore destroyed with Byss and Lumiya herself was not fully trained, so his betrayal of her left him with the even weaker and less learned Darkside Adept of Sarcev Quest for a teacher.
That's why I love the post endor period of Star Wars. It's almost Shakespearen at times.
Carnor Jax is my favorite force sensitive Legends EU villain
Make an Imperial video about Royal Guard story from recent Return of the Jedi: From a Certain Point of View book!
He is not a Royal guard he have become a sovereign protector look at his uniform.
Those who don't know sovereign protectors are high ranking Royal Guards
Edit - Sovereign protectors are also force sensitive
