Walter is one of my favorite guitar players. After some severe health issues he had to relearn how to speak, walk and do everything one takes for granted much less relearning the guitar. I think he is better than ever now.
What a lovely tribute Walter. That 'Beano' album was my introduction to the blues and I loved John Mayall ever since. I hope you read this Walter, because you have a place in my heart too. Some 15 years or so ago you played a gig at a small blues club called the Boom Boom in Sutton, Surrey UK. I was just getting over cancer and it was my first night out in a very long time. You blew me away (and everybody else!) and made me feel like I was back in the game again. From one survivor to another, thanks man.
Man ! I wish I had found Walter earlier; literally stumbled upon him when learning some blues. So happy to hear a little about his early days. He’s amazing.
Magnificent story and tribute to John Mayall My first gig of Johns was a show when you partnered Coco Montoya....what a blues band. Have followed you ever since..fantastic shows John always picked Great guitarists for his band
What a beautiful tribute Walter, I could feel every word coming right from your heart, you and the Blues Breakers and so many others that crossed paths back in the day have been an inspiration to me in my own playing journey, deep respect my friend and thank you. ❤
My very best friend (now passed). Was a big Canned Heat fan and loved Walter’s playing. Every time Walter played in the UK we went to see him. Without exaggeration we must have been to dozens of his concerts. RIP Micheal Roach

Helped you set up once in Missouri. Love your music.
Wonderful tribute. I think also Mayall developed a lot through the Trout and Montoya years. He sort of made it back to the roots in my opinion. God bless the Bluesbreakers. All of them.
What a beautiful & poignant tribute.
Thank you Walter Trout! RIP JM.
