Actually i didn't think that ground looked terrible. If I had seen lots of rock, and gravel i would have agreed. The IHC plow was protesting the green paint by not lifting out the the ground. Those Oliver plows are hard to beat. My Brother, and I go to the Orange Spectacular in Hutch every year. It's about a hour drive.
It's actually good soil, I had never been in such dry ground and did pull a bit harder.& Roll over perfect. After a couple passes with a disk, I think it set down better. I remember working that field with my dad in about 1976. The equipment auction was there in 1986. Thanks for checking it out.
@davidlauman760 I'm not a youngster anymore. I remember operating this very same machine as a teenager when I barely reached the pedals. After it left the farm auction in 1986 and a couple of owners and left outside, it came back to the farm 2 years ago. I gave it a farmer shine and plugged some leaks. It makes me happy. Thanks for noticing.
😊😊 tractors didn't have a high and low side transmission until the 1950s when U pull on the low side 😊😊 it will give U more pulling power the ground is very dry U will have 2 plow in 1ST gear like that 😊😊 OMG 1O 14 2O24
@@clarencetrice4442 thank you for your thoughts. I ran the SM at 2nd and 3rd gear early in the day to see what the new to me plow was gonna do. When we had many different models there and down shifting made sense to make it more enjoyable and realized it wasn't a race nor did anyone have hurry home to milk cows later.
